Diogo Jota, Liverpool Footballer, Dies in Car Accident Aged 28: Latest tributes
Tributes are pouring in for Liverpool FC striker Diogo Jota, who has died in a car accident in Zamora, Spain, alongside his brother.
Spain's Guardia Civil told the BBC the tragic accident happened at 00:30a.m. local time. The brothers were driving in a Lambourghini which had a tire blow out as they were overtaking another vehicle. The car spun off the road and set on fire, leaving both men dead, the BBC reports.
Local fire officials confirmed that two men, aged 28 and 26, lost their lives when their vehicle caught fire following the crash.
