Dunelm shoppers 'love' £30 item that's 'named after' BBC legend
The new lamp certainly makes a statement - and shoppers love the not-so-subtle reference to a TV icon Dunelm shoppers have been quick to comment on the latest piece of homeware that seems to have connections to a British soap star. The £30 lamp would likely be on their shopping list - and fans of the soap and style were just as interested in the new piece that claims to "make a stylish statement for any space." One of the new quirky lighting options to be added to the homeware store's catalogue, the £30 Kat Leopard Print Table Lamp certainly stands out from the ordinary. Standing at 41cm tall, this table lamp claims to "bring a touch of the wild indoors" with its "bold" design of complete leopard print. On Facebook, members of the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group pointed out the name could be paying tribute to EastEnders icon Kat Slater (played by Jessie Wallace). The person who wrote the post put: "Dunelm calling their new leopard print light Kat!" One said: "Omg that's amazing!" Another person added: "I bloody need this!" And, a third put: "I love it. Bring out my inner Kat Slater!" Someone else commented: "Well, what else would you call your leopard print range!" And, one more tagged a friend and wrote: "This has you written all over it!" Jessie Wallace has played Kat Slater, known for her love of all things leopard print, on the BBC soap on and off since 2000. Her character has been known for some high-profile storylines such as revealing she was the mother (not sister) of Zoe Slater, having her baby son swapped at birth, running the local pub, family feuds, and various romantic relationships - including Alfie Moon, Phil Mitchell and Kush Kazemi. Kat remains a major character in the soap, having been on screen for a third stint since 2018. Fans of the soap are eagerly awaiting the shake-up that will see the mum-of-three back behind the bar at the Queen Victoria pub as landlady. At the time of writing, the £30 lamp has no reviews online. It's available for free click and collect at a Dunelm store or can be delivered to your door for an added £3.95. CSBP Fertilisers pushes for WA growers to use plant sampling to ensure 2025 crop health, yield and profit
CSBP Fertilisers is urging WA growers to start plant sampling this cropping season to better support optimal growth and maximise returns. Plant sampling provides a snapshot of a crop's nutritional status during the growing season, acting as a powerful diagnostic tool by identifying nutrient deficiencies early before they are clear to the naked eye. The samples test for nitrogen, potassium and sulphur deficiencies, and helps farmers gauge the levels of trace elements like manganese, copper and zinc in their paddocks. CSBP recommends assessing sample cereal crops between early tillering and stern elongation, and canola between the six leaf stage and budding, to achieve accurate and well-calibrated results. This sampling window enables timely intervention and targeted fertiliser decisions to boost crop health, yield and profitability. Brookton farmer Gary Eva said that plant sampling confirmed that the nutrients in his K-Till Extra blend were 'spot on' but the oats which had been sewn in early April were 'desperate' for a top up of nitrogen. He said the results highlighted an exact issue so he knew to put on 80 litres/ha of Flexi-N to meet the plant's nitrogen requirements, saving his oat crop from future problems. 'It (soil and plant sampling) puts science into what we use and takes all the guesswork out. Without it, you're really just taking a stab in the dark,' he said. 'Fertiliser is such an important input, you really want to make sure that you're getting it on right.' CSBP Fertilisers general manager Ryan Lamp said plant sampling had an important role in supporting emerging crops and assisting with nutritional decisions in-season and beyond. 'Plant sampling is an economical and efficient way to predict and diagnose nutrient issues early,' Mr Lamp said. 'For about the same cost as a kilo of urea per hectare, growers can conduct an extensive plant sampling program that helps them improve their fertiliser returns and start their planning for next season by monitoring how well their plants are accessing nutrients.' Samples are collected on-farm and sent to the CSBP Soil and Plant Analysis Laboratory for assessment before being uploaded into NUlogic for client review. Mr Lamp said with the sampling, CSBP account managers could identify nutrient-deficient paddocks and create variable-rate application maps for growers to 'maximise the return on their fertiliser investment'.

I moved this $30 IKEA floor lamp into my yard and it totally transformed my outdoor space
Summer is here, and it's my favorite time to spruce up my backyard and get it ready for outdoor lounging.
