Blowout leads to crash in death of Odessa woman
ANDREWS COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a crash that left an Odessa woman dead Tuesday evening.
According to a crash report, around 6:11 p.m. on February 4, troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 176 near Mile Marker 271. Investigators said 28-year-old Leslie Tena, of Odessa, was driving a Land Rover SUN in the eastbound lane when the left tire suffered a blowout and caused the vehicle to veer left across SH 176. Troopers said the vehicle then veered into a ditch, struck a barbed wire fence, and rolled.
Tena, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected when the vehicle rolled. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
