Police: 5-year-old boy wounded by unintentional gunshot inside south Lansing home
LANSING —A 5-year-old boy was wounded July 14 from what Lansing police said was an unintentional gunshot that happened inside a south Lansing home. Police were dispatched to a home in the 800 block of Vincent Court, northeast of South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and West Jolly Road, at about 3 p.m. because of a shooting, said Jordan Gulkis, spokesperson for the Lansing Police Department in a text. "When officers arrived, they found a 5-year-old boy with a gunshot wound," she said, adding that Lansing firefighters transported him to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. "At this time, it is believed a firearm went off unintentionally inside the home and struck the child." An investigation continues. No other information was available. Police make arrest after 26-year-old man killed in south Lansing shooting
LANSING - Police have made an arrest in connection with the shooting death of a man in south Lansing early the morning of Saturday, June 28, the Lansing Police Department said in a statement. Police responded to the 3400 block of Beau Jardin Drive at around 12:30 a.m. after the shooting was reported. A man, 26, was found with "multiple gunshot wounds" and transported to a local hospital, police said. He later died, they added. Beau Jardin Drive is located near Jolly and Dunckel roads, just west of US 127. Police have not yet released the victim's name. They are actively investigating the incident. "Police are working to determine the sequence of events and the details of the incident," the department said in its statement. Police release name of man killed in weekend shooting in Lansing
LANSING — Police have identified a man killed in a shooting in Lansing on June 8 as Marvin High Jr., 58. The shooting happened about 5:38 p.m. Sunday in the 3300 block of Bardaville Street, off North Grand River Avenue and east of Waverly Road, police said. High, whose name was released by Lansing police on Monday afternoon, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No arrests had been made. Police said they did not believe the shooting was a random incident. In a June 9 news release, Lansing Police Public Information Director Jordan Gulkis noted that High's age initially was reported by police as 59. His correct age is 58, she said. Shooting kills 60-year-old man in Lansing
LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A 60-year-old man was shot and killed in Lansing earlier this evening, police say. The Lansing Police Department reports that they received a call for shots fired at approximately 5:40 p.m. near the Bardaville Apartments on the north side of Lansing. Police confirmed that a 60-year-old man was shot multiple times. The victim was taken to UM Health-Sparrow but was later pronounced dead. Police say that they believe the shooting was not an isolated incident. This is an ongoing investigation. 6 News will update when more information is made available. 59-year-old man shot to death in Lansing. What police are saying
LANSING — A 59-year-old man was shot to death in the city Sunday afternoon, June 8, Lansing police said. No arrests have been made in the shooting, but police do not believe it was a random incident, LPD said in a press release Sunday evening. Police officers were dispatch to the 3300 block of Bardaville Street, off North Grand River Avenue and east of Waverly Road, at about 5:38 p.m. June 8 after a reported "possible shooting." Once at the scene, officers found the victim with gunshot wounds. Lansing Fire Department medical staff provided treatment at the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital. No information about the victim was provided in the release.
