Seth Meyers Gets Serious in Call for US Aid to Gaza: ‘If Even Trump' Acknowledged Their Starvation, It's ‘Long Past Time to Act'

"We are appalled by the unspeakable horrors currently unfolding in Gaza," the NBC host says Seth Meyers set aside his typical jokes for a few moments on Monday night to make a solemn call for U.S. aid to those suffering in Gaza — and to call out the Trump Administration for being 'complicit' in that suffering. During his 'A Closer Look' segment, Meyers noted that the 'horror of what is happening in Gaza' is 'so obvious' that even Trump himself was made to acknowledge it earlier on Monday. Indeed, the president was asked by members of the press if he agrees with Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu that there's no starvation in Gaza. In another press event, the president added, 'Some of those kids are — that's real starvation stuff. I see it, and you can't fake that.' 'If even Trump is forced to acknowledge the reality of the crisis, that means it is long past time to act and end the suffering,' Meyers said. 'Unfortunately, we have an administration that seems concerned mainly with golf, cover-ups and windmills.' The 'Late Night' host was quick to point out Trump's comments just a day prior, when the president was asked if Israel should be doing more to allow food into Gaza. In response, Trump immediately complained that Gazans aren't being grateful enough to the U.S. as is. 'Well, you know, we gave $60 million two weeks ago and nobody even acknowledged it, for food,' he said. 'And it's terrible. You know, you really at least want to have somebody say thank you.' 'So many responses you could go with first,' Meyers scoffed. 'We need to feed the children, we need to end the killing, we need a cease-fire and to free the hostages. But only Trump could respond with 'Ahem! Does anyone have anything to say to me?' like a DoorDash driver looking for a rating.' The comedian then pushed back at any critics who might argue that 'Late Night' is a comedy show and thus should only make jokes, rather than get serious on matters such as this. 'We try, every day. We try,' he said seriously. 'But we're also human beings, and we are appalled by the unspeakable horrors currently unfolding in Gaza. And our government is complicit, which is why we have a duty as Americans to speak out on a horrific crisis that has been foreseeable for a long time.' The Backstreet Boys are back at Sphere. How much are tickets to see them now?

Vivid Seats is the New York Post's official ticketing partner. We may receive revenue from this partnership for sharing this content and/or when you make a purchase. Featured pricing is subject to change. Now, this is 'Larger Than Life.' After two weekends at Las Vegas Sphere, Backstreet Boys are returning for three more 'Into The Millennium' residency shows from July 25-27 at the eye-popping concert venue. As of now, last-minute tickets are available for their trio of Sin City gigs. At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats for any one concert this weekend was $382 including fees on Vivid Seats. While that may sound expensive (Editor's note: it is expensive), BSB fans are truly getting some serious bang for their buck at these Sphere shows. Based on our findings at Set List FM, the quintet typically perform 25 songs at all shows including the 1999 chart-topping album 'Millennium' in full. There's a catch though — the record, which yielded the mega singles 'Larger Than Life,' 'I Want It That Way,' and 'Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely' — isn't performed in order. Yes, surprises are in store for fans that have every single word memorized. In addition to revisiting the timeless record, Nick, AJ, Howie, Kevin and Brian also deliver classics from their self-titled 1996 'Backstreet Boys' like 'As Long As You Love Me' and 'Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)' as well as 'More Than That' and 'Shape of My Heart' from 2000's 'Black & Blue.' Yet, what makes these 'Into The Millennium' shows so special are the gobsmacking images surrounding BSB. According to The Post, the group is 'amplified by the Sphere's 160,000-square-foot LED dome, the world's highest-resolution screen.' Warm rays of orange light, a massive 'larger-than-life' Millennium spaceship and an apparatus elevating the group high above the crowd are just a few of the highlights built into the ambitious product that looks more like an awe-inspiring night at the planetarium than a typical concert. Want to be there? If so, our team has everything you need to know and more about Backstreet Boys' 2025 'Into The Millennium' Las Vegas Sphere residency below. What songs are on Backstreet Boys' setlist for Las Vegas Sphere shows?

Vivid Seats is the New York Post's official ticketing partner. We may receive revenue from this partnership for sharing this content and/or when you make a purchase. Featured pricing is subject to change. The ball has finally dropped on 'Into the Millennium.' After announcing their Las Vegas Sphere residency way back in mid-February, Backstreet Boys put on the first three concerts of their 21-show run at the visually-spectacular venue this past weekend. On Friday, July 11, their inaugural night, Nick, AJ, Howie, Kevin and Brian performed 25 songs according to Set List FM. And, while the Sphere residency is named after the group's best-selling 1999 album they didn't play the iconic record in order. Advertisement 'Larger Than Life' — the album opener — kicked off the show but from there they jumped into the lively 'It's Gotta Be You' (the fourth track) instead of 'I Want It That Way.' From there, they continued mixing things up and keeping fans on their toes. Classics from the self-titled 1996 'Backstreet Boys' like 'As Long As You Love Me,' 'Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)' worked their way into the show. 'Black and Blue' was represented by 'More Than That' and 'Shape of My Heart.' Perhaps most exciting of all though was the inclusion of 'Millennium' tracks that hadn't been performed live in years. 'I Need You Tonight' and 'The Perfect Fan' made their first appearances in over a quarter century; 'Spanish Eyes' returned after nearly a decade on the shelf. They even debuted their new single 'Hey' off the recently re-released 'Millennium 2.0.' Outside of the music, the show itself was…'Larger Than Life.' Advertisement '…this was more than a mere concert, it was a thrill ride, and the vibrating haptic seats and nonstop visuals elicited shrieks in their own right,' USA Today gushed int their glowing review of the July 11 concert. 'The nearly two-hour joyride came with a futuristic spaceship theme – a nod to their bazillion-selling 'Millennium' album, the celebratory theme of these Vegas shows.' Plus, ''I Want It That Way' marked the first time a Sphere concert has involved a moving apparatus,' USA Today reported. 'The guys stood atop a platform that rose astoundingly high during the finger-snapping pop behemoth while lasers zigzagged around them.' If you'd like to see the beloved boy band live, tickets are available for all remaining Backstreet Boys concerts from now until Aug. 24. For more information, our team has everything you need to know and more about the 'Into the Millennium' Las Vegas Sphere residency below.
