Yes, that's right, we're already (almost) exactly halfway through 2025. Let that sink in. If you are feeling a little disappointed that you haven't made good on all those New Year's resolutions or managed to completely overhaul your life, don't stress. Think of this as a strong reset to get you back on track and running at 100 per cent. Take it from us; there's still a lot of progress to be made in 2025, and on a more topical note, there are many more Staff Favourites to come. Here's another. Dyson OnTrac over-ear headphones | Image: Supplied Dyson OnTrac Headphones Nick Hall – Editor-in-Chief For years, I've been a earbud fan, sticking loyally to my Sennheiser True Wireless 4s, but this week I finally made the change. Well, I was kind of forced to. After dropping an earbud and standing on it, the teeny, tiny headphones finally gave up and died, prompting me to look elsewhere for some auditory help. Thankfully, I have a set of Dyson OnTrac over-ear headphones that I generally use for studio purposes, mainly because they are fantastically for sound isolation, but also because I feel like a little too big and bulky to wear while running or out on the town. At least, that's what I thought. I have been using the OnTracs all week and honestly, I'm not sure what my apprehension was. The design is super ergonomic and they aren't anywhere near as large as I remember them being. In fact, the earcups feel more streaminlined than my wife's Panasonics and the sound quality has been an absolute game-changer. If you are looking to up your headphone game, Dyson has knocked these ones out of the park. Favourite Article of the Week: For Lark's Chris Thomson, Whisky-Making is All About the 'Intangibles' North Shore Sctt Purcell – Co-Founder It's pretty rare that I come across an Aussie production that I like, but Netflix's gripping new series North Shore is definitely one of them. A cross between a U.K. crime drama and Home and Away, the six-episode mini-series is a traditional murder mystery detective show with the familiarity of a city in which I grew up. Watching it, I wondered whether it had to be funded by Destination NSW or the City of Sydney, as the visuals, landscapes and filming of the city are just stunning. It's also a great story, and while the acting and weird attempts at Aussie accents sometimes throw you off, it's a gripping watch. Let's hope that there's more to come from Australian productions like this. As I was writing this, I had no idea that this came out in 2023 on Channel 10! Perhaps I'm late to the game on this one, but it's been my pick of the week. I've also got my annual boys' golfing trip coming up, and with a pretty trashy handicap, I thought it was time to up my game. At least in the gear I had. While I've got a decent set of clubs, I was lacking the added extras and accessories, so I forked out and bought the following. Feel free to use it if you want to splurge on your next trip! Favourite Article of the Week: 'F1 The Movie' Review: Brad Pitt Racer Delivers on the Need for Speed Me on the 'Two Men In Your Head Podcast' | Image: Frank Arthur/Man of Many Two Men In Your Head Podcast Frank Arthur – Co-Founder This week, I'm giving a shout-out to Damien House and Phil Hungerford, hosts of the show Two Men in Your Head on Koori Radio and podcast. The concept is straightforward: get blokes talking. Each episode, Damien invites footy legends, musos, community leaders and people with a personal story to share into the studio for an honest yarn about life's wins and wobbles. The concept is warm, witty and refreshingly free of judgement, offering a safe space to tackle men's mental health topics that are too often swept under the carpet. I ducked in earlier this week to share my story, growing up in regional Australia as an immigrant kid, building Man of Many, and the lessons learned along the way. If you're keen to listen, queue up Two Men in Your Head on Spotify podcasts or catch the show live on Koori Radio. Perched on top of the gorge in Joadja, the site offers uninterrupted views of the Wingecarribee River that stretch as far as the eye can see. There are just four campsites on the property, each privately tucked away among the trees. The natural separation gives you a real sense of peace and seclusion, the perfect setup to truly switch off and unwind. Sitting on 100 acres of land, the property has plenty of bushwalks for those who feel like exploring. Along the trails, you'll stumble across rustic tables and chairs strategically placed to soak up some truly incredible views, especially at sunrise and sunset. Other activities include spending time with the friendly farm animals: horses, a donkey, an alpaca, and a lively mix of free-ranging peacocks, chooks, ducks, and guinea fowl, making it a truly family-friendly campsite. Got a furry friend? No dramas, they're welcome too. The campsite host, Leanne, takes things to the next level by providing a gourmet hamper service that can be delivered to your campsite. After spending the day hiking and exploring, coming back to a premade hamper to enjoy around a fire was a day maker. If you're into camping, Joadja Gorge Retreat & Camping should definitely be on your list. It was a magical time and a place I'm itching to get back to. Favourite Article of the Week: 100 + Best EOFY Sales For 2025: Deals on TVs, Laptops and Headphones Denis Villeneuve to Direct New James Bond Film | Image: Warner Bros. Denis Villeneuve to Helm Bond 26 Rob Edwards – Branded Content Editor While it's a less conventional choice than the endless parade of jackets, sunglasses, watches, and guitars I usually put forward for Staff Favourites, this week I feel compelled to include the announcement that Denis Villeneuve will be taking the reins for the next instalment in the Bond franchise. As much as I enjoy the Bond movies, I'm a much bigger fan of Villeneuve, and the thought of this singular talent applying his mastery to one of cinema's most enduring franchises makes me giddy, particularly as he'll be laying the foundation for an entirely new incarnation of the world's most famous spy. Why am I so excited? Well, this is the man responsible for Sicario, Blade Runner 2049, the outstanding Dune movies, and Prisoners, to name a few. But above all, if you want to know what he's really capable of, be sure to investigate his incredible 2010 film Incendies. Just be warned that it will haunt you forever. Favourite Article of the Week: Denis Villeneuve Bond Film Confirmed: 'Dune' Director to Helm Next 007 Movie Chernobyl Alex Martinez – Media Sales and Brand Partnerships Definitely late to the party on this HBO miniseries (released in 2019), but Chernobyl is a really great watch. It's only five episodes so you can smash this out in a week if you try hard enough. The series captures the harrowing truth of the nuclear disaster with realism and emotional depth. The performances, writing, and cinematography are all exceptional, creating a gripping and unforgettable viewing experience. It scored 95% on Rotten Tomatoes and 9.3/10 on IMDB so don't just take my word for it. Favourite Article of the Week: Tackling the Tough Stuff: Keegan Hipgrave on Mental Health

The weekend is here, and while most of us are off spending time getting ready to bring you all some goodness next week, we've also prepped a few of our favourite things to share with you all today: this week's Staff Favourites. Each week, we try to show off some things that have brought us some joy in the hopes it'll help you find your own, and this week we're showcasing some delicious whiskey, as well as a new season of one of our favourite shows. Dark Lark | Image: Scott Purcell / Man of Many 2025 Dark Lark Limited Edition Release Scott Purcell – Co-Founder I just got back from Dark Mofo in Tassie this Wednesday and last Thursday was lucky enough to head out Lark's Pontville Distillery. Lark has now moved nearly all of it's flagship production from its previous Cambridge facility out to Pontville and it's definitely a site to behold and worth a visit if you're down in Hobart. Full of rich history (literally with buildings built in the early 1800's) and even better stories over a dram, there's plenty to discover. As part of the Dark Mofo festival, Lark now releases a limited edition Dark Lark bottle each year, and the 2025 release is one of their sexiest and best looking bottles yet. The design is inspired by the fiery lichen-lit shores of the Bay of Fires in Tasmania and the label even glows in the dark! It was also awarded Gold at the 2025 World Spirits Competition in San Francisco, one of the most respected and competitive global stages for spirits worldwide. While it wasn't crafted at Pontville (instead at their Bothwell Distillery) there is plenty on offer for whisky fans and you won't be disappointed with hints of ripe paypaya, maple-glazed almonds and juicy berry compote. Favourite Article this Week: How to Split the G: The Unofficial Rules of Guinness Golf Dr. Orna Guralnik in 'Couples Therapy' | Image: SBS Couple's Therapy – Season 4 Dean Blake – Entertainment and Tech Writer I know most TV shows are filled with drama these days, but sometimes you need a break from pretend drama and need to get your fill of the real world. For that, I think Couple's Therapy is a fantastic show – the latest season is streaming on SBS On Demand now, and I can't recommend it enough. The show gives you a really unique insight into the process behind therapy, with New York-based psychologist Dr. Orna Guralnik taking you into her practice, showcasing sessions with struggling couples, as well as her supervision sessions with other therapists between. It's really fascinating stuff, and as you watch you'll start to find yourself empathising with her clients' problems, as well as root for them to figure out how to make it through whatever is causing them distress. It does dive into some deeply uncomfortable territory—it's showcasing people's therapy sessions, after all—but it's a great reminder that everyone goes through tough times, and that surrounding yourself with good, supportive people is almost always the answer. As Australia's first digital publisher to achieve 100% carbon-neutral certification under the Federal Government's Climate Active standard, we offset our emissions, and I am personally doing my part through a recent update to my daily water bottle. Nalgene's 1 L Sustain water bottle helps me stay on top of my daily hydration with clearly marked millilitre graduations, ensuring I reach my 3L target (because if you don't track it, it doesn't count). It also gives me peace of mind: the bottle is made from material derived from 50 % waste plastic, certified through ISCC mass balance, which reduces reliance on fossil fuels and lowers greenhouse-gas emissions. Another handy feature is the wide-mouth design and dishwasher-safe build, leaving no tight crevices for nasties to hide and letting the dishwasher give it a thorough clean. Bird Banter: Take wildlife protection into your own hands: take your cat for a walk

Maybe you, too, have been writing to Wyoming's congressional delegation, asking them to preserve protections for birds and other wildlife and all you get back, if anything, is a friendly form letter sort of related to your specific concern. Maybe aides put a tally mark in their pro-wildlife column. Meanwhile, all the federal agencies addressing wildlife and habitat concerns, including the Environmental Protection Agency, Fish and Wildlife Service, National Forest Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, Geological Survey, are being disabled. But there are actions you can take that will make a difference for birds. Take a cat outdoors. I know, you've heard me over the years talk about the American Bird Conservancy's program, Cats Indoors. I don't mean 'let your cat outdoors,' but keeping a cat indoors when it's nice out seems heartless, and ABC agrees. You can take a cat out to a catio (more about that later) or take them for a walk. I've tried various poorly designed harnesses, but there is now a plethora of easy-to-use designs. I found a cloth one that closes quickly with two large Velcro patches, one at the neck and one around the belly, the Kitty Holster Cat Harness. Mark and I have two cats that have a short tolerance for being petted before they lash out, but they let me put the harnesses on and take them off without bloodshed. Lark and Lewis are brother and sister, from a litter found seven years ago along Crow Creek by the mother of a friend. We'd been without a cat and these kittens were adorable, maybe some Maine Coon, with the classic tabby 'M' on their foreheads. Lewis is now 15 pounds and Lark 10, but her hair is longer and bushier. My friend took the other three kittens, keeping them indoors so all five kittens were saved from a life of murder and mayhem — the life of a loose cat that catches and kills birds and small mammals even when it isn't hungry. Domestic cats are the No. 1 source of human-caused bird mortality, killing 2.4 billion birds per year in the U.S., according to ABC. According to Jonathan Losos in his book, 'Cat's Meow: How Cats Evolved from the Savanna to Your Sofa,' who spoke on an Environment for the Americas webinar last month, domestic cats have not lost the drive they inherited from their wildcat ancestors to kill prey. And it's easy for them to go feral. Cats are also the top carrier of rabies, said Grant Sizemore, from ABC. Free-roaming cats also spread toxoplasmosis, a serious disease for people as well as wildlife. Trap, neuter, vaccinate and release programs are not adequate for stopping the carnage. 'It's time to treat cats like we treat dogs,' he said, meaning they shouldn't be allowed to roam loose anymore. Mark and I had our friend Dave enclose our covered patio with pet-resistant screening so that we could picnic without yellow jackets and the cats could spend nice days out there, watching the nearby bird feeder. A true catio allows the cats to let themselves in and out (only if you've opened the cat door), but ours doesn't so we carry them in and out. Lewis, especially, will stand by the back door and give me a look. He'll even obligingly leap onto the kitchen table to make it easier to pick him up. The introduction to the cloth harnesses went well, but then we got a puppy and next thing, I realized this spring it's been more than two years since I had either cat out on the leash for a stroll around the backyard. As soon as I pulled out the harnesses, Lewis leapt onto the table and let me wrap him up in the larger one. I opened the back door, and he jumped down and strolled out with me on the other end of the leash. It is relaxing following a cat around. The goldfinches were soon assured and back at the bird feeder. I had time to look for bees in the garden. The third webinar speaker was Albert (and his cat, Mia) who has the website 'Take Your Cat Outdoors—Travel, Hike and Go on Adventures with Your Cat' (Mia is a Bengal.). He thinks every cat is trainable and he has many training tips. It's still important to nag our congressional delegation as often as possible about safeguarding wildlife and habitat — Wyomingites across the political spectrum are concerned — so be sure to write or call: Rep. Harriet Hageman, Sen. Cynthia Lummis, and/or Sen. John Barrasso,
