Las Cruces police investigate apparent murder-suicide in Sonoma Ranch
The Las Cruces Police Department is investigating an apparent murder-suicide that occurred on Tuesday, July 8 in the Sonoma Ranch neighborhood. According to police, shortly after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Las Cruces police and fire were dispatched to the report of two gunshot victims inside a home on the 2200 block of Sun Chaser Place in Sonoma Ranch. Arriving officers found a man and a woman who were dead inside the home. Las Cruces police identified the pair as 69-year-old Raymond Gonzales, and his wife, 57-year-old Michelle Gonzales. Both appeared to have gunshot wounds, police said. The department provided no other information about the incident. The cause of their deaths will be made by the New Mexico medical investigator's office, police said.
