However, there is one dirt-cheap item from Tesco which can make cleaning off that thin layer of algae easy. The Tesco-own brand of distilled vinegar can dissolve the algae quickly and only costs 35p. According to gardening expert, Laura Carter, the product is a 'secret weapon' which can remove more than just algae.
