In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Curtis said, 'Oh, it's… happening. We're a minute away, but yeah, (I'm) very excited. Very excited. But I'm tamping down my enthusiasm until we start shooting. I have a couple of other things to hustle, but then I'll get to enjoy that work." The reboot of Murder, She Wrote is being written by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo, with production by Lord Miller and Amy Pascal. Murder, She Wrote The original television series aired from 1984 to 1996. It featured the legendary Angela Lansbury as Jessica Fletcher, a retired schoolteacher who turns into a mystery novel writer with a knack for solving real-life murders. Set in the small coastal town of Cabot Cove, Maine, the show became a classic for its gripping plot, interesting characters and Lansbury's unforgettable performance. Freakier Friday Release Date Among the projects Curtis is busy working on, Freakier Friday, a sequel to the 2003 hit Freaky Friday, is set to hit theatres on August 8. Alongside her will be seen Lindsay Lohan who will also reprise her role in the film. The film is directed by Nisha Ganatra and also stars Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Julia Butters and Ryan Malgarini in the key roles. Speaking at the Las Culturistas Culture Awards, Jamie Lee Curtis earlier opened up about reuniting with Lindsay Lohan for Disney's comedy sequel. The actress told Variety, 'She has taught me so much. She has her team, where her two people would be standing on either side of a camera holding a big light," Curtis said. 'It's Lindsay lighting — that would have been good branding — they hold lights so that we look better. So, I've learned a lot from her already. We had a good time. We love each other." The Plot Of Freaky Friday Freaky Friday followed the story of a mother-daughter duo, played by Curtis and Lohan who wake up in each other's bodies following a visit to the mysterious Chinese restaurant where their souls get exchanged.
