Vera Wang defies age on 76th birthday in youthful ensemble
Vera Wang celebrated turning 76-years-old as she showed off her age-defying physique in a black crop top and skirt. The iconic designer looked fresh faced as she swept her hair back with a black hairband, finishing off the youthful look with black sunglasses and a matching bag and shoes. She captioned the post: 'When shopping at PRADA in PARIS …. Avenue Montaigne … 35 meters from my airconditioning …. trying to be a bit fashionyyyy.' The designer also shared a carousel of snaps a few days prior that captured her intimate birthday dinner at Le Relais Plaza in Paris. She marked the milestone surrounded by close pals, and could be seen blowing out candles in one picture and unwrapping gifts in another as she posed with her friends. She captioned the pictures: 'A smallish cake for another big birthday!' and added numerous smiley face emojis. During an interview with the BBC, Wang claimed that her 'magic elixir' for staying youthful is her work. 'We did not have social media, and everybody did not age right before your very eyes, and everybody was not critical,' she said. 'It was really more about finding your way.' Reflecting on the 1990s and 2000s, she added: 'I do not see that obsession with ageing that I have felt for the last two decades.' The famously youthful fashion guru has shown off loads of age-defying looks over the years but when it comes to her secrets, this star counts McDonald's, doughnuts and vodka as her go-tos. 'I do eat McDonald's, absolutely,' Wang told Page Six Style in October 2023, sharing that she will 'order it every day' for 'two weeks' before switching up her diet. Dunkin' Donuts is also a fave, with the perfume designer sharing she loves a 'cream-filled, sugar-coated doughnut.' In 2020, Wang told her Instagram followers that her secrets to the fountain of youth included, 'work, sleep, a vodka cocktail, not much sun.'

The soirée included a seafood dinner, cocktails, and a Brat-green-colored black dress, Parisian lights, cocktail in hand—now Vera Wang knows how to throw a birthday party. The fashion icon, who was born on June 27, 1949, rang in the big seven-six with an elegant soirée in the City of Love. Wang's 76th trip around the sun called for a go big or go home evening, and she delivered, starting with her ensemble, of course. The designer looked radiant in a daring, itty-bitty black satin minidress that featured a low scoop neckline and completely open back. She paired the piece with matching knee-high boots and appeared to forego all jewelry, instead accenting with gold sequins on her arm that wrote out '76.' As for beauty, Wang wore dewy makeup, complete with a sheer rep lip, bronzy smoky eye, and bright highlighter. She styled her luscious, long black locks down and pin-straight with a middle part. Wang threw her big fête at Le Relais Plaza hotel. She organized a sophisticated dinner with a seafood menu for her family and friends. And, because no birthday is complete without a cake, she blew the candles out on a Brat-green colored gateau, as the French would say.
