Man goes to friend's house to buy game console and wakes up zip-tied, FL cops say
A man arranged to buy a PlayStation 5 from a friend, then he was choked until he lost consciousness and woke up duct-taped and zip-tied, Florida authorities said. He escaped when his accused kidnapper fell asleep, and now 32-year-old Nicolas Flores is facing charges of kidnapping, robbery with a weapon, and possession of a controlled substance, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office. The victim told investigators he went to Flores' house in Lehigh Acres on July 7 to buy a PlayStation 5 when Flores got out a machete, deputies said. The man said Flores choked him unconscious, and when he woke up, his wrists and legs were bound, according to the sheriff's office. Flores held the man captive and began transferring money from the victim's bank account to his own over the course of the next few hours, deputies said. Eventually Flores fell asleep, and the man escaped early the next morning, he told investigators. Law enforcement was alerted to what happened, and the victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. When investigators went to the southwest Florida home to execute a search warrant, Flores walked outside and was placed in handcuffs, according to a video shared by the sheriff's office. Deputies said they found the items Flores is accused of using to restrain the victim, as well as a cocktail of cocaine and fentanyl. Lehigh Acres is about a 20-mile drive east from Fort Myers.

Reginald Dominique Denman, 27, of Verona, was arrested by the Verona Police Department, possession of a Schedule I drug. Jamarion Jabez Edwards, 22, of Plantersville, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department, two counts of the sale of a counterfeit substance. Montise Shanta Edwards, 35, homeless, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department, violation of post-release supervision. Alejandro Galvez, 42, of Ripley, was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff's Office, sale of methamphetamine. John H. Hare, 88, of Fulton, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department, driving under the influence fourth offense. Felecia Leanna Harrison, 45, of Etta, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department, possession of a Schedule II drug. Cynthia Ann Lamb, 58, of Plantersville, was arrested by the Mississippi Department of Corrections, violation of probation. Wendell Scott Lambert, 52, homeless, was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff's Office, armed robbery, burglary of a dwelling, possession of a firearm by a felon. Gary Dewayne Smith, 36, of Saltillo, was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff's Office, felony fleeing. Joey Lenez Traylor, 40, of Tupelo, was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff's Office, possession of cocaine. Akillus Shanta Tucker, 27, of Shannon, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department, violation of probation, disorderly conduct, false ID, no seat belt. Eddie Channing Upton, 38, of Tupelo, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department, credit card fraud. Nathaniel Williams, 39, of Belden, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department, violation of probation possession of marijuana. Lee County Sheriff's Office The following reports were filed Friday by the Lee County Sheriff's Office. A County Road 2768, Baldwyn, man said a black dog has been running loose in the neighborhood for several days. He is concerned the dog will get hit by a car and that it does not have food, water and shelter. The deputy explained that there is no stray ordinance in the county. A County Road, 1463, Nettleton man said around five months ago, he had some people doing some work around his house. He thinks one of them stole his Glock 9mm pistol and three magazines that were in a box on top of a piece of furniture. He didn't notice the gun was missing until last Saturday. A Foster Road, Plantersville, man said he was driving down Palmetto Road when debris fell off a dump truck and shattered the driver's side window of his 2000 Chevy Malibu. He was unable to identify any markings on the truck. A County Road 1752, Saltillo, woman heard someone outside her residence around 9:15 p.m. She said it sounded like someone was removing tin from the side. Deputies responded but found no evidence that anyone had been on the property. ‘Brave' 9-year-old girl seen on bodycam footage moments after shark nearly bites off her hand: ‘Blood everywhere'
Newly released bodycam footage shows the harrowing moments after a shark nearly bit the hand off of a 9-year-old girl who was snorkeling off the coast of Florida. Little Leah Lendel was in the water near Boca Grande with her parents and siblings at around noon Wednesday when the apex predator suddenly chomped down on her right hand — tearing it mostly off at the wrist, according to Gulf Coast News. Police bodycam footage showed several medics crowding around the girl and reassuring her she was 'very strong' and 'brave' before taking her into an ambulance, according to the clip obtained by the outlet. Advertisement 4 Leah Lendel was snorkeling off the shore of Boca Grande just four feet away from her famous influencer mother Nadia and younger siblings on June 11, when she was bitten by the shark. 'I looked over and I just saw her move her hand like that,' the mother said, throwing her hand up in the air. 'I just saw her hand hanging, there was just blood everywhere.' 'It was like five kids on the water, mom and dad on the water, and I saw a shark right on top of the lady [and] little kid.' The attack was likely from a bull shark because it's both mating season and 'tarpon season' — meaning there's an abundance of fish that the sharks eat in the area, naturalist Rob Howell told WINK News. Bull sharks generally grow to 7 to 11 feet in length.

Gun toss raises suspicion during traffic stop
Lee County Sheriff's Office narcotics agents approaching a vehicle observed a handgun being thrown from the front passenger window during a June 3 traffic stop in the area of Washington Avenue and Garden Street in Sanford. Larry Durand Dorsett, 49, who is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms, was the occupant who threw the handgun, a release states. Dorsett was also found to be allegedly in possession of approximately 68 grams of marijuana. Dorsett was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of Schedule VI controlled substance, marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. He was held on a $40,000 secured bond. Agents also allegedly located a stolen handgun in the possession of the driver, Brian Colin Dunlap, 50. Dunlap was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen firearm, expired registration and driving left of center. He was held on a $20,000 secured bond.

Brownlee, 42, of Tupelo, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department, possession of a Schedule II drug, violation of parole, speeding, expired driver's license, no insurance. Torrence Russell Gill, 33, of Shannon, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department, aggravated domestic violence, disorderly conduct, public intoxication. Keshawn D. Little, 37, of Shannon, was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff's Office, possession of a controlled substance. Crystal E. Shuler, 44, of Fulton, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department, possession of methamphetamine. Kerry B. Thompson, 53, of Mantachie, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department, possession of methamphetamine. Lee County Sheriff's Office The following reports were filed Monday by the Lee County Sheriff's Office. An Old Union Road, Shannon, man said someone was trying to get into his home and causing a disturbance. Deputies arrived and discovered the disturbance was caused by the UPS man delivering a package. A County Road 1409, Mooreville, woman was outside picking up limbs when an unknown white male approached her. He said he was walking from a friend's house and had lost his wallet. He then started asking for clothes and a cigarette. She gave him a cigarette, and he left. About 15 minutes later, he walked past her residence again and walked into the woods. She said the male appeared to be on some type of drug. A County Road 833, Guntown, woman said an unknown white male was walking down the road with a weapon in his hand around 6 p.m. She was concerned that he would shoot her cattle.
