Police Officers Institute hosts workshop on arrest and search rules

QNA Doha The Police Officers Institute at the Police Academy, in collaboration with the Legal Procedures Monitoring and Evaluation Committee at the Ministry of Interior, organised a workshop titled 'Principles and Rules of Arrest and Search.' The workshop aimed to enhance skills in executing judicial orders and unify procedures in accordance with the Constitution and the law. The workshop was attended by Director of the Rules Execution Department Major General Nasser Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Director of the Police Officers Institute Colonel Nayef Mohammed Al Mannai, Director of the Office of the Minister of State for Interior Affairs and Chairman of the Legal Procedures Monitoring and Evaluation Committee Colonel Dr. Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Ibrahim, along with representatives from the Ministry of Interior, the Supreme Judiciary Council, and the Public Prosecution. In a speech during the workshop, Colonel Al Ibrahim emphasized that its organization comes in implementation of the directives of HE Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, pursuant to Resolution No. (153) of 2023 regarding the formation of a committee to monitor and evaluate legal procedures. This is under the close supervision of HE Minister of State for Interior Affairs Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Mohammed Al-Thani, who supports the committee in achieving its desired objectives. Dr. Al Ibrahim noted the support the committee receives from President of the Supreme Judiciary Council HE Dr. Hassan bin Lahdan Al Mohannadi, and Attorney General HE Dr. Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi. He indicated that the workshop comes in response to the coordination of the Permanent Committee for the Development of Work in Security Departments, and within the framework of a series of training workshops launched by the committee this year. For his part, Colonel Nayef Mohammed Al Mannai stressed the importance of cooperation and integration between judicial and security agencies, noting that respect for the law and adherence to sound legal procedures guarantees the integrity of security work and is a fundamental pillar for strengthening community confidence in state institutions.
