Halo olgeta! Nesia Daily celebrates Bislama Language Week
Halo olgeta! It's officially Vanuatu Bislama Language Week according to the New Zealand Government's Ministry of Pacific Peoples. Each week is a celebration of the rich language and cultures that make up the nation. This year's theme is 'Tokabaot Klaemet Jenj — hemi ril mo yumi mas lukaotem laef — Talk about climate change — it is real, and we must look after life'. We spoke to Moses Cakau Willie about how Ni-Vans keep the language strong, as well as what events are planned in Port Vila for Independence Day this Wednesday 30th July. And Lehali is a talented young songstress of Ni-Van and Māori descent based in Aotearoa. The singer stopped by for a chat with Nesia Daily about her music journey and latest release, 'Her name is Kanaky'.
