Why Aruna Irani Rejected Chemotherapy After Being Diagnosed With Breast Cancer The First Time
New Delhi: Aruna Irani recently revealed that she quietly battled breast cancer not once but twice in her life. Fans were in shock as the veteran actress didn't let the public know the ordeal she went through. Now, Aruna Irani has opened up about that chapter of her life and shared inside details. In an interview with Lehren, the actress recalled that her first diagnosis came after she felt unwell while on a shoot. The actress said, " Aise hi ek din shooting kar rahi thi, pata nahi mujhe kaise pata laga par maine bola 'Mujhe kuch lag raha hai' [I was shooting one day, I don't know how I found out, but I said, 'I am feeling something]." She was first diagnosed in 2015, when the actress consulted a doctor, they brushed it off as a small lump. However, she insisted on getting it removed right away. She was advised to undergo chemotherapy but she declined, fearing it would affect her appearance and impact her acting career. Aruna Irani said, "Then the doctor said you will have to take a pill and I chose that as I was working. How would I shoot if I lose my hair." Her cancer came back in March 2020, right before the COVID-19 pandemic. This time, she chose to follow the doctor's advice and undergo chemotherapy. ' Meri hi galti thi, as pehle maine chemotherapy nahi li thi (It was my fault because I did not opt for chemotherapy the first time). This time around, I took it,' she said. Aruna Irani's health journey wasn't only affected by cancer, the actress also got diabetes at 60 and faced a kidney scare where doctors said both kidneys had failed, but fortunately, she recovered without needing major treatment. Aruna's acting career spans over six decades, beginning as a child artist in films like Ganga Jumna (1961) and Anpadh (1962). She gradually transitioned to adult roles, appearing in films like Aulad (1968), Humjoli (1970), Devi (1970), and Naya Zamana (1971). Aruna Irani also ventured into direction and production, helming popular shows like Mehndi Tere Naam Ki and Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand.

Aruna Irani reveals she didn't have kids with Kuku Kohli as she was his second wife: 'I didn't want my child to face anything; Neena Gupta ji had courage...'
Aruna Irani tied the knot with film-maker Kuku Kohli in 1990. Kohli had launched Ajay Devgn in 'Phool Aur Kante'. Earlier, Irani was in a relationship with Mehmood but he was already married and his wife didn't want him to work with Aruna. They broke up because Aruna wanted marriage which he couldn't give her. Later, Irani fell for Kuku Kohli but he was also married. Later she married him, but never had children. In a recent interview on Lehren, with Bharati S Pradhan, Aruna was asked why she fell for a married man after she had come out of a relationship like that with Mehmood. She revealed, "Kabhi kabhi aap woh galli mein ghus jaate ho. Kuch samajh nahi aata. One way galli hoti hai. Aap hatna bhi chaaho toh hat nahi sakte. Insaan kabhi akela hota hai aur kisise kuch mann lag jaata hai na toh you get carried away. Aaj aapko khushi milti hai na toh aap bhul jaate ho ke kal kaisa dukh hoga. (Sometimes you just don't understand why and how you enter a lane and there's no turning back. It's a one way lane. When a person is all all alone and gets some love from someone, or feels good with someone, they think about the happiness of that moment, without realising the pain they will get next day)." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trade Bitcoin & Ethereum – No Wallet Needed! IC Markets Start Now Undo Aruna revealed that she did try to marry someone else and leave Kuku so he can live happily with his family. But he never let her do so. "Maine try ki ke doosri jagah shadi karlu but he didn't let me," she said. When asked about why she never had children, Aruna said, "I'm second wife's daughter. Mere papa ki do shadiyan hui thi. First shadi hui thi tab unko bacche nahi the toh unhone mummy se shadi ki. Toh main paida hui aur line lag gayi. Kabhi bhi papa ko officially aap kisi ke saamne papa nahi bol sakte. Par hum bacche the toh kabhi bolte the, toh mummy didn't like. She used to object us. Unhone naa bola. (My father didn't have a child with his first wife, which is why he married my mother. Then me and my siblings were born. But we were told not to call our father 'papa' publicly)." She further added, "Woh mujhe pasand nahi tha. Mujhe aisa lagta tha. Ke mere bacche woh face nahi kare. Aaj kal toh shadi nahi bhi hui thi tab bhi you can have a child. Neena Gupta ji ko dekhke mujhe lagta hai yeh courage hai. I didn't have the courage. I didn't want my child to face anything. A child's mind goes through a lot. Bacche ke bagair mujhe chal jayega but I didn't want my kid to suffer. (I didn't like that as a child. I also never wanted my children to face the same. Now times have changed. But those were conservating times. When I used to see Neena Gupta ji, I felt inspired, she had the courage to give birth to a child without marriage. But I didn't have the courage. I would rather be childless than just let me kids hear any taunts to let them suffer)" Aruna added, "I used to think, 'He is a married man, he has his own house. If I have my kids and if they ask about their father, uss wakhat main isko kya jawab du.' Hamare bhi jhagde ho jaate. Agar mera baccha tumko chahta hai aur tum ho nahi toh what is the meaning of this relationship. We are happy without having kids. (I used to think he's a married man, he has his own house. What if I have kids and if they ask about their father, want their father someday and he's not available. That would lead to us also fighting because I wouldn't like that my child wants a father and he's unavailable)." Another reason that the actress shared was, "Agar main baccha karti toh mujhe ghar hi baithna padta. Bacha koi maid ke liye nahi karna. (If I would've had kids, I would just have to leave my work and be at home. As obviously, I didn't want to have a child just for a maid to handle)."

Here's the real reason why Rani Mukerji and Akshay Kumar have never shared screen space with each other
Akshay Kumar and Rani Mukerji have been around since the 90s and despite the fact that both of them achieved such stardom and popularity, the duo have never been paired opposite each other on screen. While one wonders why they have never shared screen space with each other, there could be multiple reasons for it - perhaps either professional setbacks or their personal choices. Rani was approached for 'Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi' in 1996. But according to a report in Lehren, the actress turned down the role as Akshay was a part of the film and she was reluctant to share screen space with a newcomer like him. Eventually, Raveena Tandon was cast and the film was a huge hit. Later, she was also approached for 'Sangharsh' in 1999. But she also refused to be a part of the project, because Akshay was in the film. Eventually, Preity Zinta was cast. The actress again declined the opportunity to work with him in 'Awara Paagal Deewana' in 2002 which further contributed to estrangement between the two actors. Post that, it was being said that Akshay purposely chose to not collaborate with the actress after these three instances. Reportedly, se was also supposed to be a part of 'Tashan'. Eventually, Kareena Kapoor Khan was cast in the movie. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Why Didn't Anyone Tell You About This Power Saver? elecTrick - Save upto 80% on Power Bill Pre-Order Undo However, a post on Reddit also pointed this out and it said, "In Akshay career spanning over 32 years and Rani career spanning 27 years it is quite interesting that they have never been in movie together or even in a single scene despite being massive stars at the same time especially during all of the 2000s. If they had worked together in a rom com/dramedy or a masala type movie it would've been huge in my opinion especially released in the 2000s. They would've been a huge hit on screen couple too. Rani and Akshay have great comedic timing and also are known for their romantic roles as well so it would be a no brainer to cast them in a film together but it never happened. I did read somewhere about 2 films where it almost happened but due to scheduling conflicts it didn't work out. Its surprising to me that both being massive stars during their initial prime didn't get to work with each other on a movie. I feel it's a treat us movie watchers never got to experience. I feel they would have had amazing on screen chemistry." While these two actors haven't been seen together on screen, fans would really hope that now someday, they would get to see them together. There has never really been any rift or feud between them through the years though, but somehow their personal choices or professional decisions never let them come together.
