Zaxbys newest menu item is a first for the chicken chain. When can you get it?
Zaxbys, known for its 12 signature sauces, is now adding a dry rub to its repertoire.
The new lemon pepper lineup, available as of Monday, July 7, is a first for the chicken chain and features a blend of lemon, cracked black pepper and 'a rich buttery finish,' the restaurant said in a news release.
Zaxbys teamed up with Georgia native and rapper Quavo, formerly of the Migos, to launch the beloved flavor that has become synonymous with Atlanta.
Lemon pepper fans can choose from four new meal options:
Wings & Things: Five lemon pepper traditional or boneless wings, three chicken fingers, Zax sauce, fries, Texas toast, ranch sauce and a Fingerz Plate: Four lemon pepper chicken fingers, fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, ranch sauce and a Wings Meal: Five traditional lemon pepper wings, fries, Texas toast, ranch sauce and a small Pepper Sandwich Meal: A lemon pepper-seasoned chicken filet on a toasted bun served with fries and a drink.
'This launch celebrates more than just our first-ever dry rub – it's a tribute to Zaxbys Atlanta roots and the viral phenomenon of Lemon Pepper Steppers, that's all about owning your own sauce,' Patrick Schwing, chief marketing and strategy officer for Zaxbys, said in the release.
It's the latest menu shakeup at Zaxbys, which operates more than 980 restaurants in the U.S.
In May, it announced the permanent return of its fan-favorite milkshakes after a seven-year break, McClatchy News reported. The frozen treats were tested exclusively in Macon and surrounding cities before the nationwide rollout.
Zaxbys' lemon pepper offerings will be available for a limited time at participating restaurants nationwide, though the restaurant didn't say for how long.
