Famous rapper is handcuffed and arrested while trying to board a flight in Miami

Rapper Trippie Redd was arrested and dragged out of Miami International Airport as he tried to board a flight to France. The Florida-based performer, born Michael Lamar White, was picked up on an active warrant relating to a 2023 incident, according to a police report seen by NBC News. The 26-year-old was listed in the lineup for Les Ardentes, a festival taking place in Belgium on Saturday. It is understood he had an active Miami-Dade County warrant related to an invalid driver's license case. Customs and Border Protection flagged the warrant as he went to board the flight to Europe on Thursday afternoon, sparking his arrest. Video captured of the arrest shows White being handcuffed as he was surrounded by at least seven officers. He responded without incident, but a crowd had gathered and were shouting at the officers as White was dragged out of the airport. He was allegedly released on a $150 bond. After his release, Redd went back to posting on X as fans desperately await an update on new music. 'Get ready I'm coming different this time on my life all in house work,' he assured them. The rapper's debut album, Life's a Trip, was released in August 2018 and soared to number four on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. He has been performing on the festival circuit, recently appearing at Rolling Loud in Miami Gardens.

Young Thug set for first live performance since prison release at Belgium's Les Ardentes festival

Young Thug is officially set to make his live performance comeback after his release from prison last Halloween. However, U.S. fans may have to wait, as the rapper's first show will take place overseas. Thugger has been announced as a headliner for Les Ardentes, a major Belgian music festival, where he will take the stage on July 5. The festival's organizers shared the news on Instagram, posting a flyer with the caption: 'History. Young Thug is back to headline Les Ardentes! 5th July at Les Ardentes. Tickets on sale this Wednesday!' According to the festival's website, this will be Young Thug's first time performing at Les Ardentes since 2017. 'Eight years after his last visit to Les Ardentes, Young Thug is back,' the statement read. 'See you on Saturday, July 5th for an ME-MO-RABLE show!' His YSL label's official Instagram account reacted to the news by commenting, 'Slatt,' followed by a snake and lime-green heart emoji. Despite his return to the stage, Young Thug still faces legal challenges. He is currently dealing with a civil lawsuit from entertainment company AEG, which claims he violated a 2017 touring agreement. The company alleges that the rapper never repaid a $5.3 million advance and had put up copyrights to his music as collateral. 'Such copyrights constituted collateral that was subject to the security agreement,' AEG wrote in its lawsuit, adding, 'AEG has the right, pursuant to [agreement], to require that [Thug's publishing company] and Mr. Williams assemble such [copyrights] and turn them over to AEG.' Ken Carson is currently the only other American rapper confirmed for the festival, scheduled to perform on July 4.

'AEG has the right, pursuant to [agreement], to require that [Thug's publishing company] and Mr. Williams assemble such [copyrights] and turn them over to AEG.' Young Thug announces first live performance since prison release

Young Thug has announced his first live performance since his release from jail following a plea deal. The rapper is set to headline the Les Ardentes festival in Belgium on July 5, marking his first show since his 2022 arrest. While fans eagerly anticipate his return to the stage, Thug has yet to make a public comment on the announcement and has not scheduled any U.S. concerts, despite his plea deal requiring him to perform four charity gigs per year. Thug's silence could be due to ongoing legal issues. He is involved in a lawsuit with Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), a major music company, which claims that Thug signed a $5.25 million loan agreement in 2017. After allegedly failing to repay the loan, AEG asserts that Thug forfeited rights to his publishing and live performance promotions. AEG previously sued him in 2022 for breach of contract, accusing him of independently booking concerts and keeping all proceeds, despite AEG holding exclusive rights to his performances. The rapper is also fighting the government over possessions seized during raids on his home, including cash, jewelry, and several luxury cars, such as a 2022 Porsche 911 and a 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLS Maybach. While the lawsuit's outcome remains uncertain, Thug's upcoming Belgium show will be a significant milestone in his return to live performances.
