Candace Cameron Bure credits son for helping save her marriage to Valeri Bure
Candace Cameron Bure's son saved her marriage. The 49-year-old actress - who has Natasha, 26, Lev, 25, and Maksim, 23, with husband Valeri Bure - admitted she and the former hockey player went through a "really, really rough" patch in their union and were questioning whether they still had a future together when their middle child gave them a lesson from the Bible, which he hoped would be helpful for the couple. Speaking on her eponymous podcast, Candace said: 'Val and I went through a really, really rough season in our marriage in 2020, and that's when the pandemic hit. 'It was going south quickly, and we were like, 'I don't know, don't think … we're gonna make it through.' "At one point, Lev, Maks and Natasha, but Lev was the one leading the charge. He came up to us and said, 'We'd like to talk to you guys.' Val and I sat down and Lev preached, like, a 45-minute sermon on marriage to us. Just had his Bible open on the couch and just talked about it.' 'And I'll never forget, 'cause he said, 'You know, I know I haven't been married. I'm just a young kid. And so it's probably hard to take marriage advice from someone this young [who] never experienced it before. But I don't need to be married to know what the word of God says.'' The Full House star recalled how Lev had 'such a calm voice that had so much wisdom behind it' when he sat his parents down, and the conversation made them appreciate what they had together. She continued: "He looked us straight in the eye and individually asked me and then asked Val, 'Have you done everything you can? Is there one step of grace, is there just some bit of more grace you can give? Is there one more act of kindness in you that you could give to try to reconcile?' 'When we walked away from that and Val and I were like, 'Huh, we raised some pretty good kids.'' Candace called her son's advice the "pivotal moment" that "really changed" things for her and Valeri, 51. She added: 'There was a lot more to it, but it's a whole different scenario when your kids sit you down to have a talk and go, 'Are you being as mature as you can be?' I'm so grateful to Lev and Maks and Natasha. They were so supportive of everything.' Lev was also on the podcast and admitted the words from his mom - who has been married to Valeri for 29 years - had left him "emotional" but he and his siblings were keen to do what they could. He said: 'I think it came from a point of love. Even when my siblings and I talked about it, it was like, 'Man, we want more than anything for our parents to be together.' But, let's get to the matter of fact, it's only going to happen through Jesus. That was all we could point them to.'

Originally appeared on E! Online is looking back at a rocky point in her marriage. The Full House alum—who has been married to Valeri Bure since 1996—recently opened up about their marriage hitting a rough patch, leading them to get guidance from an unexpected source. 'It was going south quickly,' Candace said on the July 8 episode of the Candace Cameron Bure podcast, referring to the state of their relationship in 2020. 'And I was like, 'I don't know. I don't know if we're gonna make it through.'' During this period, the couple's kids Natasha, 26, Lev, 25, and Maksim, 23, took note, with their oldest son sitting them down for a tough conversation. 'Lev came up to us and said, 'We'd like to talk to you guys,'' she recalled. 'Lev preached like a 45-minute sermon on marriage to us. But I don't need to be married to know what the word of God says.'' For Candace, 49, and Valeri, 51, their son's perspective opened their eyes to the most important aspect of their relationship: family. 'He was just such a calm voice that had so much wisdom behind it,' the Home Sweet Christmas star explained. 'And he looked us straight in the eye and individually asked me and asked Val, 'Have you done everything you can?' We walked away from that, and Val and I were like, 'We raised pretty good kids.'' 'That was like the pivotal moment,' she explained. 'It really changed for us after that talk. It's a whole different scenario when your kids sit you down to talk and say, 'Are you being as mature as you can be?'' She added, 'I'm so grateful to Lev, and Maks and Natasha. They were so supportive of everything." The Fuller House alum has been candid about how the pandemic affected her decades-long relationship. "All the things that we have avoided for years talking about, they all surfaced and they were in our face," she said during an interview with Yahoo! Lifestyle in March 2021. 'And it was unavoidable to actually have these discussions with one another and work through the real deal crap.' However, it's obvious everywhere you look that Candace and Val have worked through their issues, as they celebrated their wedding anniversary last month. '31 years ago we went on our first official date at his practice rink in Fredericton, New Brunswick. @dcoulier introduced us at a charity hockey game in Los Angeles 4 months earlier,' she wrote on a June 22 Instagram post. '30 years ago on June 20th, we got engaged in Paris. 29 years ago today, June 22nd, we got married. We grew a beautiful family. Happy anniversary to my love and best friend forever. And this was the song for our first dance.' Get to the bank, Sofia... Bulgaria is about to become the newest Eurozone member
EUROPEAN FINANCE MINISTERS are expected to approve Bulgaria's pathway to the Eurozone today, making it the 21st country to use the currency. Bulgaria, which uses the Bulgarian Lev, will adopt the Euro on 1 January 2026. The country's path to join the eurozone has had a stormy political backdrop, with seven elections in the last three years. Advertisement Many Bulgarians are against switching to the euro over worries it will lead to a rise in the cost of living. Proponents in Bulgaria believe the move will help improve Bulgaria's economy and citizens' lives. Speaking to reporters in Brussels this morning, Bulgarian finance minister Temenuzhka Petkova said her country's government expects 'full support' from all member states. Petkova, who is also the country's deputy prime minister, added: 'We are on the verge of realising a strategic goal for our country.' Croatia was the last country to join in 2023, bringing the total to 20. Bulgaria wanted to adopt the euro sooner, but the EU said its inflation was too high to meet the necessary criteria. It came at a period of high inflation for many member states. EU states that want to join the single currency must demonstrate that their economy has converged with other eurozone countries and that they have their finances under control. 'The Last of Us' Fans Spotted a Subtle 'Game of Thrones' Easter Egg in the Season 2 Finale
As fans continue to unpack The Last of Us's season 2 finale, some eagled-eyed viewers have noticed a subtle nod to its fellow HBO series, Game of Thrones, nestled within the episode. The blink-and-you'll-miss-it reference takes place during a flashback of Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) waking up on a couch with a book on her stomach: Thieves of the City by Ben Davidoff. It's a play on the 2008 book City of Thieves by David Benioff, who was a co-showrunner (alongside D.B. Weiss) of Game of Thrones, which of course also starred both Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. For the uninitiated, City of Thieves is a World War II coming-of-age novel set during the Siege of Leningrad. In the original Last of Us video game, Abby is also seen reading the book as a deliberate nod to the story. Game director Bruce Straley confirmed in a previous interview that City of Thieves was one of the inspirations behind the PlayStation game. If HBO's The Last of Us continues to follow its source material closely, there could be another nod to Benioff's book in the upcoming third season. Lev, a young boy born to a Seraphite mother, teams up with Abby for a large portion of The Last of Us: Part II. Lev is also the name of one of the main characters in City of Thieves. The Last of Us's showrunner, Craig Mazin, is well aware of the GoT-TLOU overlaps. He recognized Ramsey right away when he started watching their audition tape. 'I was like, oh shit, it's Lady Mormont,' Mazin told ELLE back in 2023. Even though Ramsey's fame could've been a distraction Mazin was confident the actor was the right match for Ellie. '[In] my mind, I was like, if we don't cast Bella as Ellie, then I will go to my grave knowing that we could have made a better show than we did.'
