TV explorer Levison Wood is set to become a father as he reveals new girlfriend is pregnant - just days after sharing romance

TV explorer Levison Wood has announced that his new girlfriend Ana Protasio is pregnant with their first child. It was just four days ago when the TV explorer announced he had found love with a new lady in his life. The world adventurer, 43, gushed over his new romance with former model turned yoga teacher, Ana on social media. Sharing a sweet photo on Instagram on Sunday, he wrote: 'Happy birthday to this wonderful human being! (And yep we're having a baby, not just a big lunch)' He shared a sweet image of his glamorous girlfriend showing off her growing bump, as the pair beamed with happiness. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Fans were quick to offer their well wishes to Levison, who was considered Britain's most eligible bachelor at one point. Some comments read: 'Congrats to you both and enjoy the ride, so many adventures coming your way', 'Congrats Lev! Welcome to the dad club mate'. Earlier this week, the former army officer told his Instagram followers: 'Over the years I've met many people on the road, but every now and then, someone comes along who doesn't just travel with you, but changes the pace of the journey entirely. 'This is Ana. We've been exploring a shared path together lately, one filled with plenty of adventures, challenges and commitment. An exciting new chapter awaits.' He also shared some images of them together - one which included a picture of them canoeing, and another which saw them embracing in front of a vast mountain. Judging by the images, it's clear the pair share a mutual love for the great outdoors. Levison's followers were quick to throw their support behind the star, with one stating: 'Delighted to meet you Ana!! You two make a beautiful couple, good luck with all the travels and fun in your future xxx' It was just four days ago when the TV explorer announced he had found love with a new lady in his life Another added: 'Wishing you many adventures together' The explorer has been open about his desire to find romance in the past, and even admitted to joining dating apps in the hope of doing so. In an interview with MailOnline in 2021, the former soldier said: 'I used dating apps: I don't see a problem with it. I use them when I want to use them. 'That is how people meet these days, isn't it? How else can you meet your woman?' Levison also opened up about exactly what his type is, saying: 'I don't like to put people into boxes. 'If a woman is intelligent, interesting and fun - that is the basis really. I don't really care what job they do or anything like that. 'It is also about being comfortable in somebody's company and enjoying spending time with them.' After lockdown Levison was the victim of stalking, with the perpetrator jailed for 13 months. Fiza Jabeen, a doctor, made Wood so fearful for his and his family's safety that he decided to sell his London home. But after moving - and after Jabeen was made the subject of a restraining order - she tracked him down once again, visiting Levison's home at the time in Richmond. The doctor was jailed for 13 months after admitting one offence of stalking and harassment having sent the TV personality 'explicit and unpleasant messages' via social media. Levison's most recent endeavour - after a career where he served as a Major in the army, became a best-selling author and produced a host of documentaries - saw him embark on a tour called Walking the World: A Life of Exploration and Adventure. Levison delves into his extraordinary 20 years as an explorer, during which time he has experienced the amazing and the tragic, in the set of shows. During an expedition along the 4000-mile long Nile River from Rwanda to Egypt, a journalist travelling with the explorer named Matt Power was overcome with heat stroke and tragically died. Levison called his death 'a haunting moment that stays with me every day'. And in his closest brush up with death, the 43-year-old almost lost his life during a trek across the Himalayas in 2015. He came face to face with tigers, crocodiles and even a cannibal on the remarkable journey but it was a short car ride which was almost his undoing. After being left with nowhere to sleep as night fell, Wood and his colleagues piled into an SUV and paid the driver to take them to the nearest town in search of a bed. As the vehicle wound its way along the treacherous mountain scape, its brake cable snapped throwing it off the edge of a cliff and into a ravine. Somehow Levison and all the other passengers survived, with the explorer later saying: 'We are lucky to be alive'.

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: TV explorer Levison Wood embarks on biggest adventure - fatherhood with Brazilian model

Trusting in what he describes as 'almost blind optimism', he never envisages failure – an indomitable spirit which sustained him on active service in Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention when circumnavigating the Arabian Peninsula or walking the length of the River Nile or the Himalayas, where he flew off a cliff when the brakes on a car failed. But even Levison Wood has admitted that he's struggled in one often bewildering environment – the 21st century dating scene where, he told me a while back, he hoped to encounter 'a woman with a sense of adventure and a sense of fun'. So I'm delighted to reveal that the former Parachute Regiment officer turned explorer, author and broadcaster, has pulled off what he can justifiably consider his greatest triumph to about to become a father after falling for Brazilian firecracker Ana Protasio, a beauty whose accomplishments traverse numerous fields. 'Ana's a therapist and a yoga instructor and a model,' Levison, 43, tells me from the Alps, where he and Ana are on currently on holiday, relaxing in what, for Levison, is trademark manner – 'climbing mountains'. It would seem an appropriately invigorating prelude to the impending addition to the Wood family. 'We're happily expecting our first child at the end of July,' confirms Levison, who's travelled across at least 120 countries, contending with broken bones, tigers, crocodiles and – so far – one cannibal. It's tempting to see the couple's romance as the perfect incentive for a chap to hack his way into the undergrowth. 'We met travelling in Costa Rica and stayed friends,' says Levison, adding that they 'reconnected' last year. Being an officer and a gentleman, he declines to disclose Ana's age and even refrains from saying whether they are engaged – or married – but assures me: 'We're very serious in our commitment to each other. 'I've got some very exciting projects I'd love to do in South America,' adds Levison, whose latest book, The Great Tree Story: How Forests Have Shaped Our World, was published this spring. That should earn Ana's seal of approval. How Princess Anne put boot into rugby star Princess Anne enjoyed cutting her pal Scottish rugby international Kenny Logan down to size when he was bursting with pride at representing his country. 'I remember playing in the World Cup in 2003, when England won, [Scotland coach] Ian McGeechan said, 'Think about the five million people in Scotland supporting you'. And running out on to the pitch and turning around and meeting Princess Anne,' 53-year-old Logan recalls. 'She said to me, 'You all right, Kenny?' I said, 'Yeah, yeah,' and shook her hand. She said 'I can't believe you still get a game'.' He adds of the princess, who's patron of Scottish Rugby: 'She was horsey, I was horsey, farming, and outdoors. We had a great relationship. And even when I see her now she'll always say hi or try and sell me a horse or something like that.' There's no place like home for Sir Michael Palin, who still lives in the 'modest' family house in unfashionable Gospel Oak, north London, that he bought with his late wife, Helen, in 1966. He has resisted the celebrity tendency to move somewhere bigger and swankier. 'Helen influenced our living an unostentatious life,' says the former Monty Python star, 82. 'I like meeting people. I like hearing their stories. I don't want to be cut off because of what I do and [it] is such a nice little area. You've got everything you want here. So why move? Unless you feel you want to or your status demands it.' His only concession was to buy the cottage next door and combine the houses. Lady Amelia takes a twirl at art show... Lady Amelia Windsor, whose sister Marina announced her engagement this week, is clearly in the mood to celebrate. The Duke of Kent's 29-year-old granddaughter gave a twirl in the courtyard of Burlington House as she arrived at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition preview party. Lady Amelia, who was once named as the 'most beautiful royal' by Tatler magazine, wore a one-shouldered, lime green mini-dress to the art event. Her sister, Lady Marina, 32, is to wed IT specialist Nico Macauley. ...While potter Perry really is a picture There was little chance of Sir Grayson Perry failing to stand out from the crowd at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition preview party. The cross-dressing potter, 65, was a riot of colour in a purple wig and an orange and yellow jumper featuring exaggerated puff sleeves. He paired the eccentric top with blue satin shorts, orange tights and fuchsia pink laced boots. The ceramicist has been a member of the Royal Academy since 2011. Kemi Badenoch says she has received advice from every living former Tory leader, with one exception. 'They've all offered me, actually, all except Liz [Truss], have offered advice,' she says. TV star, 43, goes Instagram official with new girlfriend after stalking terror and near death experience

TV hardman Levison Wood has revealed his new girlfriend for the first time after his stalking terror and near death experience. The Channel 4 star, 43, looked smitten in new photos he shared to Instagram as he hard launched his partner Ana. 7 7 7 In one snap, Levison cosied up to the brunette woman during a stroll. They wrapped up in winter coats, with Levison in a black padded jacket and the new lady in his life wearing a black coat and a khaki beanie hat. He then shared a candid snap of her looking content as she glanced out of a window. While another photo showed them exploring the outdoors and on adventures - including them canoeing and in front a picturesque mountain backdrop. The former Army officer wrote: "Over the years I've met many people on the road, but every now and then, someone comes along who doesn't just travel with you, but changes the pace of the journey entirely. This is Ana. "We've been exploring a shared path together lately, one filled with plenty of adventures, challenges and commitment. "An exciting new chapter awaits." Levison previously told The Sun about his dating life and admitted in 2023 that he's not short of offers since he started making his shows for Channel 4 in 2015. Levison even got advice, however unconventional, on landing a wife during his adventures, the most recent of which saw him travel to Namibia, in southern Africa, to film desert lions. Explorer Levison Wood on becoming a sex symbol He said: 'The lead woman in the Himba tribe initiated me into the tribe by putting clay dreadlocks in my hair, which she said would make me look a lot more stylish. 'They also have this test for men, a sort of coming of age ceremony when they are 12, where they get their bottom two front teeth knocked out with a brick. 'I've obviously still got my teeth, and they were taking the p*** out of me, saying, 'You're never going to find a wife and get married if you've got those teeth'.' He said: 'I'd love to have a family one day, but I don't think there is any need to follow convention and settle down at all. 'Sod that, I'm more up for continuing the adventures, no matter what. But I try to avoid talking about finding someone and love, as the last time I did, I ended up with a stalker.' In 2020 the said stalker was jailed for three months after more than eight months of harassment during which the woman contacted Levison's parents and turned up outside his house in South West London. Speaking about his brush with a stalker, he told The Times: "I've had some persistent fans over the years but this was on another level. "It went from being a nuisance to her contacting family members, turning up outside my house. It wasn't nice: I was looking over my shoulder wherever I went. "I was reluctant at first to contact the police because last year I felt they had bigger things to deal with. "It felt embarrassing more than anything. Women get this a lot more than blokes do, so it was a real learning curve to be on the receiving end." Levison went public with his stalker hell on Instagram in 2020 when he said the person in question had "taken it to the next level" by contacting his family. He wrote at the time: "So the stalker has taken it to the next level and started to message my parents. @brumpolice pls advise is there anything that can be done? "She claims to be a paediatric doctor and records show her license was revoked. This person needs to be removed from any contact with kids." The star later added: "I've blocked this psycho three times today. @instagram does nothing and said individual just sets up new account and puts vile and obscene comments all over my wall." Levison is known for his Channel 4 documentary From Russia To Iran: Crossing The Wild Frontier. He is formerly a member of the British Army and has fought in the war in Afghanistan. In 2010, Levison decided to leave the Army and started pursuing a career in photography and journalism before going on to become a best-selling author. However, in 2021 he decided to rejoin as a Major in the 77th Brigade which was only formed in January 2015. The TV star previously revealed he nearly died while filming for a documentary after his taxi plunged off a 500ft down a cliff face in Western Nepal, while also experiencing other close calls. He told The Sun: 'The times I've been closest to death weren't in the Army but on expedition. 'For this series, in Greenland there was a real risk our boat could have been crushed by ice as the waters change direction with the wind, and in the desert you're up against wild animals. 'Our crew got chased by a lion in Namibia. I had to dive into the back of the car because one was bounding towards me. That was slightly terrifying. 'There are risks everywhere and you have to be very, very vigilant. 'You can imagine the length of the safety form that needs to be filled out. But everyone accepts there are loads of risks. If you want to show people these stories some- body has to be out there on the front line. 'At least I'm not getting shot at this time.' 7 7 7
