Mississippi man's body recovered from Lake Lewisville Sunday
The body of a 28-year-old man who disappeared while swimming at Lake Lewisville Saturday was recovered Sunday, authorities said. Texas Game Wardens in Denton County, the Lewisville Fire Department and Towboat U.S. responded to a possible water fatality on Lake Lewisville on Saturday, June 28, a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department spokesperson said in a statement. Authorities were searching for a man who was swimming near a boat when he went underwater and did not resurface. Search for possible drowning victim at Lake Lewisville suspended, will resume Sunday
Authorities suspended the search late Saturday for a 26-year-old man who went underwater and did not resurface near Pier 121 Marina on Lewisville Lake. The initial 911 call reporting a possible drowning was received around 7:45 p.m., according to a spokesperson for the city of Lewisville. The Lewisville Fire Department's dive team and Texas Game Wardens responded to the scene. Divers focused on a specific location in the lake, while a rescue boat remained active in the area. "Crews will return to the area tomorrow (Sunday) morning," said city spokesperson Matt Martucci. "No time has been set as of yet." 7-year-old dies after being pulled from pond in Frisco, police say
A missing 7-year-old girl died after being pulled from a pond near Stonebriar Centre in Frisco on Saturday night, May 31. Officer and firefighters responded to a missing child in the area near 2401 Preston Road around 9 p.m., Frisco police said. Police said the child's shoes were found at the bank of the pond, which prompted the request for assistance from Lewisville Fire Department and DPS. The child was found and was taken to a local hospital where she later died, police said.
