Manning on Sargent links and Sainz departure
Norwich City boss Liam Manning says it's only "natural" that forward Josh Sargent would attract attention from top flight clubs after a strong Championship campaign last US international has been linked with recently promoted Premier League clubs Leeds United and Burnley - but Manning says he's been impressed with Sargent's professionalism despite all the outside noise."He's top, you see that, you see what he's done in the division, but the consequence of that is naturally he's going to be linked with clubs at a higher level," Manning told BBC Radio Norfolk."We'll have to see how that pans out but I can't speak highly enough of how he's applied himself in training and how he's gone about it."Another key player for the Canaries last season was Borja Sainz, whose 18 goals made him the third top scorer in the division. However, Manning will not be able to utilise Sainz' goal scoring prowess next season after the Spaniard made the move to Portuguese side Porto for £14.25m on the former Bristol City boss isn't looking back to see what he's missed out on."It's a terrific deal for the club and from that perspective - you only have to look historically how it's been reinvested - it allows us to improve the team," Manning added."There's still a few faces we need to add and will add."Listen to the full interview and more on BBC Sounds.
