ANC Reaffirms South Africa's Non Alignment Policy: Strict Control on Arms Exports to Conflict Zones
At a panel discussion during the Liberation Movements Summit, ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula reiterated that no South African arms manufacturer – state-owned or private – will be permitted to export weapons or ammunition to the war zone in Ukraine. 'As the ANC, we have taken a decision – consistent with South Africa's constitutional values and foreign policy traditions – that South African arms manufacturers will not be allowed to export weapons or ammunition to the war zone in Ukraine. This position is not anti-European. It is pro-peace,' stated Mbalula. He further emphasized the commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict, adding: 'Peace cannot be outsourced to artillery.'

Ramaphosa calls for urgent solutions to Africa's challenges
KEMPTON PARK - Political freedom means little without economic justice. That was the message from President Cyril Ramaphosa as he addressed the final day of the Liberation Movements Summit in Kempton Park. Angola's MPLA, Namibia's Swapo, Mozambique's Frelimo, Zimbabwe's Zanu-PF, and Tanzania's CCM are attending the event. The President warned of renewed attempts at regime change and called for urgent solutions to Africa's challenges. Ramaphosa also stressed the need to resolve the land question, industrialise our minerals, and create jobs for the youth. "To meet present day challenges we require urgent substantial and sustainable solutions to Africa's challenges. We need to find innovative ways of resolving our problems and challenges. The question we must answer is whether our movements are able to provide the leadership that is required in the world of today and tomorrow," explained Ramaphosa.

After Zuma's Morocco visit, Polisario to attend ANC Liberation Movements summit in South Africa
A delegation from the Polisario, led by its «Minister of Foreign Affairs», Mohamed Yeslem Beissat, is set to arrive in South Africa this Friday. The group has been invited by the ANC, the party headed by Cyril Ramaphosa, to attend the «Liberation Movements Summit», scheduled from July 25 to 28. The summit will be held under the theme: «Defending the Gains of Liberation, Advancing Integrated Socio-Economic Development, Strengthening Solidarity for a Better Africa», as announced by the ANC in a statement. Beissat, who previously served as the Polisario Front's representative in Pretoria, had engaged with various parties and professional organizations backing the Polisario in South Africa before stepping down. Last May, he held talks with President Ramaphosa during an ANC meeting. This invitation forms part of the diplomatic forum organized by the South African embassy in Algiers, which aims to bolster support for the separatist movement's positions. It's worth mentioning that the ANC has previously criticized Jacob Zuma's backing of Morocco's sovereignty over Western Sahara. In addition to Mohamed Yeslem Beissat's participation, the Liberation Movements Summit will also feature Palestinian Jebril Rajoub, another proponent of Algeria's and the Polisario's stance on the Sahara issue.
