All PS Plus Subscribers Can Play Lies of P and Other Games This August
Lies of P is an award-winning game that reimagines the story of Pinocchio as a soulslike action roleplaying game set in a grimy world overrun by killer mechanical puppets. And starting Aug. 5, all PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to play that award-winning game, and others, at no additional cost. PlayStation Plus is Sony's version of Xbox Game Pass, and it offers subscribers a large, constantly expanding library of games. Subscribers can choose from the Essential, Extra and Premium tiers, which each have unique perks and benefits. The plans start at $10 a month, and each tier gives subscribers access to monthly games and rewards. Here are the games all PS Plus subscribers can play starting Aug. 5. Lies of P This is a macabre soulslike game akin to Bloodborne and based on Carlo Collodi's classic tale, The Adventures of Pinocchio. Puppets have torn the city of Krat apart, and you play as Pinocchio as he searches for Geppetto in the grisly, oil-stained city. You'll encounter traps, twisted contraptions and maniacal humans in your search throughout the city, and maybe you'll find what it means to be human along the way. DayZ Sony Can you survive the zombie apocalypse? DayZ places you and dozens of other players into a dense 163 square-kilometer (about 63 square-mile) map filled with zombies and materials you'll need to last. And with no checkpoints or saves, you'll need to work together; otherwise, you'll have to start all over. My Hero One's Justice 2 This over-the-top fighting game is the sequel to the arena fighting game My Hero One's Justice. In this game, you can fight as -- or against -- many of the characters from the popular anime series My Hero Academia, including All Might, Endeavor and Fat Gum. You'll use your characters' Quirks -- or unique powers -- to overcome your opponent's abilities and win these epic clashes. Lies of P leads August's lineup of PS Plus games
After kicking off its PS Plus 15th anniversary celebrations last month , Sony has announced the PS Plus Monthly games for August. From August 5, members of all of the service's tiers will be able to add Lies of P (PS5, PS4), DayZ (PS4) and My Hero One's Justice 2 (PS4) to their libraries. The headliner is undoubtedly Lies of P , the surprisingly great Pinocchio-flavored soulslike from 2023. South Korea-based studio Neowiz's twisted take on the oft-reimagined children's novel stood out in what is now an overwhelmingly crowded genre, thanks to its stylish Belle Epoque-era setting and slick combat. There aren't many better FromSoft tribute acts around. The post-apocalyptic survival game DayZ launched on PS4 with not-exactly-glowing reviews in 2019, but is still getting fairly regular updates in 2025. Meanwhile, 3D arena fighter My Hero One's Justice 2 is worth checking out for fans of the My Hero Academia manga on which it's based. As it continues to mark 15 years of its Game Pass -rivalling subscription service, Sony has announced that from August 5, members can download a set of anniversary avatars. Themed around the likes of Cyberpunk 2077 , Hogwarts Legacy , Diablo IV and God of War Ragnarok , as well as cult retro favorite Twisted Metal , these are also available to subscribers on all tiers. The MSI Claw A8 is now available to pre-order in Europe — when is it coming to North America?
The MSI Claw A8 is now available to pre-order in Europe. That's significant since this is the first time that the new gaming handheld is available to markets outside of China. Although we don't yet have a North American release date, this news gives us hope in the States that we'll see MSI's machine arrive on our shores soon. Per VideoCardz reports, European vendors like Alza and currently have the MSI Claw A8 priced at €975 and €978 (respectively). This is slightly less than the current MSI Claw 8 AI+, which retails for $999. Austria, Germany and Slovakia are the first European countries that can pre-order MSI's new handheld, though none of the aforementioned retailers say when the Claw A8 will start shipping. As we've reported, the MSI Claw A8 will be the first gaming handheld to utilize an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor. This could make it one of the most powerful Windows 11 handhelds yet. On top of that, the Claw A8 features a more ergonomic design and even comes in a bold new Neon Green color. It has all of that with the same 80Wh battery, up to 24GB of RAM and an 8-inch 1080p 120Hz display. In his MSI Claw A8 hands-on preview, Jason England said he was floored by the handheld's gaming performance. When playing Lies of P on his Asus ROG Ally, he sets the game to medium graphical settings and turns on resolution scaling to achieve 60 frames per second. With these same settings, Lies of P ran at an astonishing 100 fps. We'd need to get the handheld into our lab for formal testing, but Jason's experience bodes well for the handheld. I was disappointed with the original MSI Claw 7, but the company made a big improvement with the MSI Claw 8+ AI. Now that MSI is using an AMD chip for the Claw A8, we could see the strongest Steam Deck competitor yet. As for North American pricing, I wouldn't be surprised if the MSI Claw 8 costs $999 like the Claw 8 AI+. A lower price would be better, but given its updated specs and the ongoing uncertainty with US tariffs, I'm not sure MSI can drop the price much lower.
