The new signage reads: "Uniqlo Glasgow. Opening Autumn/Winter 2025." The Herald previously reported how the beloved Japanese fashion brand announced it is set to open a store in the city. The new store in the city will be around 22,500 square feet in size and it will span over two levels. Uniqlo announces 'Arigato' festival to engage Indian shoppers

Japanese apparel retailer Uniqlo has announced the launch of its bi-annual Arigato Festival in India, set to run from May 30 to June 5. The event, named after the Japanese word for 'thank you', aims to express appreciation to Indian shoppers who have supported the brand's 'LifeWear' philosophy. 'We are pleased to extend our gratitude to our customers who have made Uniqlo a part of their daily lives," said Uniqlo India's marketing director Nidhi Rastogi in a press release. "Customers are at the centre of everything we do at Uniqlo, and we are honoured and deeply appreciative to have a growing community of loyal customers in India. Through the Arigato Festival, we express our appreciating by offering exciting deals, exclusive gifts, and special in-store experiences." During the festival, customers can shop key LifeWear essentials at limited-time prices, including women's linen blend trousers and shirts, Ezy jeans, Airism t-shirts, and bra tops. Shoppers spending over Rs 8,000 will also receive a Japanese-style hand towel featuring traditional motifs such as Mount Fuji and Sakura. Coinciding with the promotion, Uniqlo will release new seasonal collections on May 30, including Uniqlo x Anya Hindmarch and Louvre x Doraemon UT. Both will be available online and in stores across India. The initiative forms part of Uniqlo's wider strategy to deepen customer engagement and brand presence in the market.

Global apparel retailer Uniqlo will open its fourth Mumbai store on May 16 at Inorbit Mall Malad, further strengthening its presence in the metro. The launch supports the brand's broader expansion strategy in India and adds to Inorbit Mall's line-up of international fashion labels. Spanning 8,969 square feet, the store will offer Uniqlo's full 'LifeWear' range, including apparel for men, women, children, and infants, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. Known for its emphasis on simplicity and durability, LifeWear is designed to deliver everyday essentials suited to a wide range of lifestyles. 'Over the past 21 years, we've continually evolved to meet the changing needs of our community- and once again, we're carving a path for the decades ahead," said Inorbit Malls' chief executive officer Rajneesh Mahajan, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. "With the introduction of exciting new brands like Uniqlo and significant upgrades across the mall, we're reaffirming our commitment to staying relevant and creating meaningful, memorable experiences for all who visit.' To mark the launch, Uniqlo is offering promotional activities including giveaways and limited-time offers. The first 100 shoppers on opening day will receive a Round Mini Shoulder Bag. Pre-launch activities also included a Wish Tree Activation from April 17 to May 15, and a voucher promotion for purchases above Rs 6,000. A limited-edition tote bag by artist Aashti Miller will also be available during the opening weekend. The new outlet reinforces Inorbit Mall Malad's position as a key destination for global retail brands as Uniqlo will join labels including Victoria's Secret, Forever New, Aldo, and Hush Puppies, according to the mall's website.
