AS Monaco's Eliesse Ben Seghir has drawn attention during pre-season matches for wearing a protective mask on his face.
The 20-year-old Moroccan recently underwent minor nasal surgery to fix a long-standing deviated septum, according to L'Équipe . While the issue wasn't career-threatening, it had been affecting his breathing and match stamina for some time.

The operation took place during the off-season, and Ben Seghir is now wearing a custom protective mask to shield the healing area from impact during games. Unlike Napoli's Victor Osimhen, who wears his mask permanently, Ben Seghir's is only temporary.
