First Look at the Villain of Toy Story 5, LilyPad
Like it or not, Pixar is pushing forward with more Toy Story movies, and it looks like the fifth one is going to put technology front and center. Just in, we have a look at LilyPad, the tablet who will be the main antagonist of Toy Story 5. Check her out: 'Toy Story 5' was shown at France Annecy Festival today The opening scene was shown which included a shipment of Buzz Lightyear's crashing on a Island A tablet named 'Lilypad' will also be a villian in 'Toy Story 5' (Photo credit – Pixar)#Toystory5 #Pixar #Disney — TheRatedReel (@TheRatedReel) June 13, 2025 So far, we know that LilyPad has a disagreement with the toys on what's best for Bonnie. It definitely sounds like she's like Anxiety in Inside Out 2 , and it's possible we get to watch her as she makes Bonnie obsessed with screentime—just like modern-day kids (and even adults) are. As for the second photo, it's also been revealed that there's a shipment full of Buzz Lightyears that get washed up on an island. Since the series like to keep coming back to Buzz thinking that he's a space ranger, it looks like TS5 could be running with that concept by making a whole island of Buzzes who all think they're stranded on an odd planet. Though a lot of fans think that Toy Story 3 was the perfect end to the trilogy, these newer movies do feel like expanded shorts that give the characters more fun adventures as compared to serious life transitions. Sure, Woody rides off with Bo Peep in the last movie, but it does seem like he's going to find some kind of way to be wrangled back into Bonnie's life. He does keep posted with Buzz and the rest of Andy's old toys; maybe Woody and Bo are the ones that find the island of Lightyears and somehow have to save them? We'll just have to wait and see till we get the first teaser. Toy Story 5 is set to hit theaters on June 19, 2026.

In Pixar's Toy Story 5, the Big New Villain Is a Tablet
Pixar is giving its old-school toys a decidedly modern antagonist in its fifth installment of the beloved Toy Story movies: a tablet. During the studio's Friday showcase at Annecy's International Animation Film Festival in France, chief creative officer Pete Docter revealed that Toy Story 5's villain is Lily Pad, a "sneaky" and "prickly" tablet that convinces 8-year-old Bonnie Anderson that friends and games on a device beat dusty ol' toys in the closet. The first concept art shows the frog-faced tablet looming over Buzz, Jessie and Bullseye like a touchscreen tyrant of the toy box. As you can probably foresee, this is a battle between analog toys and always-on tech. (You can stream Toy Story movies one through four on Disney Plus.) The Lily Pad reveal topped a jam-packed Walt Disney Animation and Pixar showcase, where the company rolled out updated release dates, never-before-seen footage and a couple of all-new original films. Toy Story 5: tech is the enemy The premise of Toy Story 5 is that Anderson gets a Lily Pad for school chat and online games. But the tablet decides that Anderson's toys, including Woody, Buzz and Jessie, are holding her back. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack are all returning, while Ernie Hudson steps in as Combat Carl, honoring the late Carl Weathers. Docter shared the opening scene of Toy Story 5, which shows a crate full of stranded Buzz Lightyears trying to escape a desert island. Toy Story 5 is set for release on June 19, 2026, more than 30 years after the first movie came out. It's set a couple of years after the events of Toy Story 4, but no word yet on how Woody, who departed with Bo Peep at the end of that movie, will return to Bonnie's house -- or whether Bo Peep will be in the fifth movie. Toy Story 5 starts off with Buzz Lightyear action figures, stuck in toy mode, searching for Star Command (shown here in concept art). Pixar Pixar's two new original films: Hoppers and Gatto Daniel Chong's Hoppers, scheduled for March 6, 2026, turns an eco-heist into a critter-powered caper: 14-year-old Mabel uploads her mind into a robotic beaver to save her local pond from a highway project. Gatto, slated for summer 2027, centers on Nero, a black cat in Venice who's burned through most of his nine lives doing jobs for a feline mob boss. Now, questioning whether he's wasted those lives, Nero stumbles into an unexpected friendship that could finally give him purpose. The film will be shot in a "living storybook" style, which is new to Pixar. New footage from Zootopia 2 and Elio Jared Bush, Walt Disney Animation Studios' chief creative officer and director-writer of Zootopia 2, showed some new footage and images from the anticipated sequel, which should come out in November. The audience also got to watch a 27-minute sizzle reel from Elio, the cosmic coming-of-age adventure, which opens June 20.

Disney shows Toy Story 5 villain as fans say they're 'different than expected'
The fifth film in the Toy Story franchise is just over a year away and Disney Pixar has given fans have been given a sneak preview of what to expect from the new 'villain' Disney fans have been given a first glimpse of what they can expect from Toy Story 5 after the film's concept art was unveiled at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and later shared to social media. Like the first four movies in the franchise, it's a collaboration with Pixar and it's set hit the big screen on June 19, 2026. A clip of the production appeared to show a shipment of Buzz Lightyear toys crashed on a deserted island, who are then required to work together to build a raft to get back to Star Command. Elsewhere, still images showed Jessie addressing a new character called LilyPad - a green tablet with a frog-like appearance. LilyPad, which belongs to Bonnie is believed to be following in the footsteps of Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear, and Emperor Zurg as the lead villain of the film. TikTok film account 3C Films admitted the baddie was a "bit different" to what he expected. "It's similar to an iPad and Leap Frog tablet in real life, and although it looks very friendly, it's said to have a completely different perception on how to play with Bonnie than our toy friends in Toy Story 5," 3C Films continued in a video. "I didn't think the tablet would have an actual personality or that it would talk, but I think it'll be really fun to see Bonnie develop 'brain rot' a short-attention span and maybe she will become a misbehaving kid." Responding to this concept, however, fans seemed less than impressed, including one who slammed in response: "Should've just ended it on [Toy Story] 3." A second person concurred: "Just end this franchise already." A third pondered: "Hey, remember when Toy Story 3 had a perfect ending to the franchise and then they made Toy Story 4 which also had a perfect ending to the franchise? What are we doing here?" Whilst a fourth X TikTok user added: "Here is the thing, I thought 3 was the end and made sense for me, then they made 4 and I felt that was the end. Now it's 5, which I am not a fan of, but I will wait for more details to come out." The narrative was similar on X meanwhile, where one user responded to the news: "Why didn't they just end this after 3? I know it's obviously for $$$ but that ending was the most perfect ending a trilogy could ever have." However, others praised the tablet idea, explaining that its a fair reflection of modern day childhood. "It makes sense since kids are far less likely to play with toys vs a tablet in this day and age it should be great can't wait to see it," one X user shared. Another joked: "iPad kids as the evil cult makes for a great storyline." A third individual mused: "Interesting. This is a battle in real life of what is best for kids. Toys vs technology." And a fourth said: "Unironically think it's a good take though, easy digital access can be disastrous for developing minds." Announcing the production in August last year, Disney stated: "The toys are back in Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 5, and this time around it's Toy meets Tech. Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang's jobs get exponentially harder when they go head to head with this all-new threat to playtime."
