Aviators still the last word in sunglasses, from Tom Cruise's classic Ray-Bans in the Top Gun films to Pedro Pascal's designer shades – plus models by Louis Vuitton and Cartier

Aviators have long been a signature look in sunglasses. For confirmation, just look at the long career of action man Tom Cruise . He wore classic Ray-Ban Aviators in the original 1986 blockbuster Top Gun, and 36 years later, donned the very same model for 2022's Top Gun: Maverick. Not that Ray-Bans are your only option … 1.
