'At-Risk' Man Found Dead Nearly a Week After Vanishing on a Walk, Police Say

Judson St., in the Linda Vista community at around 6:30 p.m. local time. 'He's considered at-risk due to medical concerns,' police said in the missing person's bulletin. At the time of his disappearance, Diep was described as a Vietnamese male measuring 5'5' in height and weighing 150 lbs., authorities said. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve green button-up shirt over a gray shirt, green sweatpants and black Puma slides. However, police told Fox affiliate KUSI that Diep's body was located along State Route 163 on Tuesday, June 24. The department offered no additional information about the circumstances surrounding Diep's death. PEOPLE reached out to the SDPD and Kane Diep for additional information on Friday, June 27. Diep's son Kane also confirmed his father's passing in an Instagram post on Tuesday. 'Thank you to everyone who've helped search for my dad Quang Diep,' Kane wrote. 'We've received heartbreaking news that he has passed away. We're deeply grateful for the support and care from our communities. We wanted to let you know so you can stop searching. Thank you again for your compassion, kindness, and love. Quan Diep was last seen walking from a home in the 7400 block of North Judson Street around 6:30 p.m., according to the San Diego Police Department. Police describe Diep as a Vietnamese man standing 5 feet 5 inches and weighing 150 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve green button-up shirt over a gray shirt, green sweatpants, white socks and black Puma slides. Quang Diep was reported missing on Wednesday, June 18. Flyers were posted around the community, telling people to be on the lookout for him and, if spotted, to report his whereabouts to police. On Wednesday, the San Diego Police Department told FOX 5/KUSI Diep was found deceased along State Route 163 on Tuesday. No other details about his death were immediately available. His son, Kane Diep, made a post on social media, confirming that his father had passed away. 'Thank you to everyone who've helped search for my dad Quang Diep. We've received heartbreaking news that he has passed away,' Kane posted in an Instagram story. 'We're deeply grateful for the support and care from our communities. We wanted to let you know so you can stop searching.' Gunfire in Linda Vista leaves multiple vehicles damaged
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego Police officers were called to a Linda Vista neighborhood early Sunday for reports of dozens of gunshots that hit some vehicles in the area. San Diego Police received reports of around 30 to 40 gunshots that were heard around 2:35 a.m. Sunday in a neighborhood in the 6600 block of Tait Avenue in Linda Vista. Investigation underway after fatal police shooting in Ocean Beach The police department reports some of the bullets hit more than one vehicle in the area, and that officers were checking local hospitals looking for any gunshot victims that might have arrived on their own. As of Sunday evening, police have not arrested anyone in connection to the incident and there are no known victims.
