Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham Los Angeles billboard on Sunset Boulevard teases possible upcoming project
Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham have fans wondering if a reunion is coming soon after a billboard teasing an upcoming project was spotted in Van Nuys. The billboard on Sunset Boulevard features a photo of the duo's "Buckingham Nicks" album, which was released in 1973 and the date Sept. 19. The billboard is located not far from Sound City Studios, where the album was originally recorded. Last week, both Nicks and Buckingham dropped subtle hints on their own social media accounts, posting lyrics from their song, "Frozen Love." Buckingham wrote, "I'll meet you there," and Nicks posted, "And if you go forward." The billboard has garnered speculation that a reissue of the album is coming soon. Sound City Studios also posted about the billboard, sharing excitement about the possible project. The iconic recording studio celebrated the album's 50th anniversary in 2023 with a special social media post. Sound City said that in 1973, Mick Fleetwood was visiting LA looking for a new recording studio. He went to visit Sound City Studios and heard Nicks and Buckingham recording their album. In 1975, Fleetwood asked the couple to join his band. The album was also featured in a documentary about the studio, highlighting the importance it played in some of music's biggest projects.

Stevie Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham's 'Secret' Communication Through Song Lyrics Is Breaking the Internet
Stevie Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham's 'Secret' Communication Through Song Lyrics Is Breaking the Internet originally appeared on Parade. When it comes to tumultuous rock and roll romances, it goes without saying that Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham top the list of star-crossed musical lovers. Decades after the former Fleetwood Mac couple parted ways, fans are still obsessing about their relationship, which has seen countless ups and downs over the years (including Buckingham getting fired from the group in 2018). Now, a recent online interaction between the duo has music lovers everywhere desperately hoping a reconciliation might be in the works. On July 19, Nicks took to Instagram to post the words "And if you go forward..." Shortly thereafter, Buckingham responded with his own post, reading, "I'll meet you there." As fans were quick to point out, together, the posts make up a lyric from the song "Frozen Love" (off the 1973 album Buckingham Nicks). "What in the silver springs is going on around here!!!!" one person demanded in the comment section on Nicks' post. "BUCKINGHAMNICKS RENAISSANCE IN 2025," declared a second fan. "Stevie posting 'Frozen Love' Lindsey posts 'i'll meet you there' something is happening!!" another commenter pointed out, as someone else quipped, "The sound of thousands of fans refreshing Lindsey's insta every ten seconds." Buckingham's Instagram followers were equally excited, with one admitting, "IM GOING TO THROW UP WHATS HAPPENING." "60 year situationship is crazy," another person joked. "GO ON TOUR GO ON TOUR GO ON TOUR ILL PAY FOR THE PSYCHIATRY," somebody else begged, with another adding, "YOU BOTH ARE MY ROMAN EMPIRE PLEEEEEEASEEEE." Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood also seemed to hint that something was in the works in his own Instagram post this week. In the short clip, Fleetwood bobbed his head while listening to "Frozen Love." 'Unbelievable,' he said. 'The marriage of Stevie and Lindsey, the marriage of coming into Fleetwood Mac when they did, it's all in this song.' "Magic then, magic now," he wrote in the caption. Whether the Instagram back-and-forth between Nicks and Buckingham is leading up to a tour announcement or teasing a reissue of the Buckingham Nicks album remains to be seen, but fans will definitely be watching closely for more clues in the days to Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham's 'Secret' Communication Through Song Lyrics Is Breaking the Internet first appeared on Parade on Jul 17, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jul 17, 2025, where it first appeared. Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham Are Reuniting on Reissue of Long Out-of-Print Album
Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham Are Reuniting on Reissue of Long Out-of-Print Album originally appeared on Parade. Those Instagram posts that Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham shared last week quoting lyrics from a song from the pair's long out-of-print album weren't just a random tease. We can now report that Buckingham Nicks, the 1973 album the duo recorded prior to joining Fleetwood Mac, appears to be set for re-release on Sept. 19. That's according to a billboard spotted on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles on Monday, July 21. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 A photo of the billboard was posted by a fan on X along with the caption, 'stevie nicks & lindsey buckingham on a billboard together. buckingham nicks is officially happening. september 19. this is at 7365 sunset blvd & no it's not photoshop or AI or anything else i saw it with my own two eyes that i cried tears out of after.' The same user also posted video to prove its authenticity and other fans were quick to comment. 'Reissue would be nice but a tour would be much better,' one fan posted. 'we would ALL be in attendance at that tour,' the original poster responded. 'I loved that album ❤️,' another one added. After all the speculation, we spotted a page for the duo over the weekend on the official website for Rhino Records, the label reissuing the album, with the album's cover art. While the cover art has since been taken down, the URL still exists. Buckingham was famously booted from Fleetwood Mac at Nicks' request in 2018 and was replaced by Crowded House singer and & the Heartbreakers guitarist Mike not known is whether the re-release will lead to a Buckingham Nicks tour or a Fleetwood Mac reunion. If Fleetwood Mac does reunite, it won't be with the group's most successful five-member lineup, since singer-keyboardist Christine McVie died on Nov. 30, 2022, at age 79. That said, Fleetwood Mac had toured in the past without McVie prior to her death. She left the band in 1998, before returning from 2014 until her death. There's also a precedent for Buckingham to stage a tour with Nicks. They've both toured solo over the years, and Nicks is on the road this summer. In 2017, Buckingham did a tour with McVie to support their duo album, Lindsey Buckingham Christine McVie, so theoretically, he could do something similar with Nicks. There's also been a resurgence of interest in the Buckingham Nicks album. In 2024, indie musicians Andrew Bird and Madison Cunningham covered the entire album and released the project under the name Cunningham Bird. Parade has reached out to representatives for Rhino for comment. It's unclear whether the reissue will feature bonus tracks like the bootleg versions that include alternate takes of some of the songs on the album, as well as live tracks, including a live version of the future Fleetwood Mac classic 'Rhiannon.' Fleetwood Mac's ‘Rumours' Rocks To A New Chart Peak
Fleetwood Mac's Rumours reaches a new high of No. 17 on Billboard's Top Streaming Albums chart as ... More "Dreams" and "The Chain" surge in popularity. LOS ANGELES - SEPTEMBER 1: Fleetwood Mac (L-R Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood) backstage at the Los Angeles Rock Awards on September 1, 1977 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Richard Creamer/Michael) No matter how many greatest hits compilations or box sets Fleetwood Mac releases, Rumours will always be the focus for millions of listeners around the world. It remains one of the most successful albums of all time, and it's still very much alive on the charts. The full-length sounds almost like a singles compilation, as many of the group's most famous tunes are featured on its tracklist. Decades after its release, Rumours remains a bestseller and powerful streamer in the United States, and plays on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, and others help the Grammy-winning set soar higher than ever this week. Rumours Climbs to New Chart Peak Rumours jumps on the Top Streaming Albums chart this week, rocketing from No. 31 to No. 17 on Billboard's ranking of the most successful projects on major streaming platforms. That position marks a new peak for the full-length and for the band, as Rumours is, so far, the only release by Fleetwood Mac to reach the Top Streaming Albums chart. That means every time it lifts to a never-before-seen position, the group raises the bar again. Fleetwood Mac's Rumours Vs. Greatest Hits Rumours first reached the Top Streaming Albums chart in October 2023, many decades after it was originally released. Billboard didn't introduce the tally until several years ago, and so far, Fleetwood Mac's classic has now spent 41 frames somewhere on the ranking. Somewhat surprisingly, the group's Greatest Hits has never reached the Top Streaming Albums list, as American fans apparently prefer to press play on the original album itself. Two Fleetwood Mac Songs Help Power Rumours Two Fleetwood Mac singles appear on Billboard's streaming rankings, and an increase in plays of those cuts may have played a major role in sending Rumours higher on the Top Streaming Albums tally. "Dreams" climbs to No. 22 on the Streaming Songs chart, lifting from No. 31. At the same time, it holds in the runner-up spot on the Rock Streaming Songs list. Fleetwood Mac doubles up on the ranking of the most-streamed rock tracks in America as "The Chain" reenters that tally at No. 17. Rumours Is a Hit on Multiple Billboard Charts Rumours lives on half a dozen Billboard charts this week, climbing on all of them — though it only reaches a new peak on the Top Streaming Albums tally. The bestselling set sits inside the top 10 on half of those rosters and occupies space within the top 20 on the other three.

The signs Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham are getting back together
Rumours have always been the lifeblood of Fleetwood Mac, from the name of their 40-million selling album in 1977 to the mind-boggling web of intimate relationships between bandmates. Key members Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham may be 77 and 75 respectively, but the former lovers have sent the rumour mill into overdrive yet again with a series of cryptic social media posts. Almost six decades after the original iteration of the band formed, the psychodrama continues. And it feels strangely reassuring. Here's what happened. On Thursday afternoon, Nicks posted five words in squiggly writing followed by an ellipsis on her Instagram account: 'And if you go forward…' A hardcore contingent of her 2.2 million followers went bananas, recognising the words as lyrics from a 1973 song called Frozen Love, which appeared on Buckingham Nicks, her sole album with Buckingham before the pair joined Fleetwood Mac the following year. An hour later, excitement hit Defcon 1. Buckingham, with whom Nicks has always had an intense and tortured relationship, put a similarly squiggly-written post on his own Instagram account. 'I'll meet you there,' he wrote – the second half of the line that Nicks had posted shortly before. Cue a landslide of excitement and speculation. 'Buckingham Nicks in 2025 was not on my bingo card,' wrote one fan. '60-year situationship is crazy,' wrote another. A third fan, assuming that a joint tour was being suggested, wrote: 'Stop it! I will liquidate my assets for front row tickets RIGHT NOW.' So what's going on? Just as the pair no doubt intended, we're all in the dark. A contact of mine put me in touch with Buckingham's manager, but he was keeping shtum. There are four possibilities. One is that, as the asset liquidator assumes, the pair are going to hit the road together. Nicks, who drew a vast crowd at London's BST Hyde Park last summer, already has a massive US tour starting next month and Buckingham has nothing planned. It's entirely feasible. The second possibility is that a wider Fleetwood Mac reunion is on the cards. Frozen Love was the song that led drummer Mick Fleetwood to ask Buckingham to join the band back in 1974 (he said yes, on the condition that his musical partner and girlfriend Nicks could join too). It was actually Fleetwood who kicked the whole thing off on Wednesday when he posted a video snippet of himself listening to Frozen Love on Instagram. 'Magic then, magic now,' Fleetwood wrote. Fleetwood Mac last toured in 2019, with Crowded House's Neil Finn replacing Buckingham, who was fired after a reported disagreement with the band over tour dates. However the death of Christine McVie in 2022 might have put paid to this: Nicks told Mojo magazine last year that there's 'no chance' of the band getting back together without McVie. The third possibility is that nothing is going on. It's just a truce between old lovers. The fourth reason, and the most likely, is the re-release and digitisation of the Buckingham Nicks album. With its sleeve featuring a topless photo of the hirsute sweethearts, the record bombed on its release and has never even been available on streaming platforms. There would be huge demand for it. More than Kurt and Courtney or Mick and Marianne, Nicks and Buckingham are rock's most famous couple. Theirs was a story of backstabbing and bed-hopping. They met at high school in California, joined a band called Fritz and became lovers. Their passionate and stormy relationship lasted until 1976 before it brutally collapsed, just as Fleetwood Mac were writing Rumours. Both were too proud to walk away from the band. Nicks later had a brief affair with Fleetwood – hardly the recipe for smooth band relationships. Nicks and Buckingham's tempestuous relationship yielded some of pop's greatest songs. Buckingham wrote the self-explanatory Go Your Own Way and Never Going Back Again about Nicks. She wrote Dreams about Buckingham ('You say you want your freedom… But listen carefully to the sound of your loneliness'). As Nicks later described it: 'He's looking at it from a very unpleasant, angry way, and I'm saying, in my more airy-fairy way, 'We're gonna be alright. We'll get through this.'' To a point, Stevie. Her most intense song about Buckingham was Silver Springs, which was intended for Rumours but ended up as a B-side to Go Your Own Way (the yin and yang of a relationship right there on one seven-inch disc). The lyrics to Silver Springs are excoriating. 'I know I could have loved you / But you would not let me,' Nicks sang, before going on: 'You'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loved you.' A live performance of Fleetwood Mac performing Silver Springs in 1997 is one of the most impassioned and powerful pieces of live music imaginable – explaining why it has more than 50 million views on YouTube. The intensity of the song is breath-taking. As Nicks sings, she constantly glances at Buckingham, to her left, until they both hold each other's stares and sing directly at each other. ' Never get away,' Nicks sings with fervid intensity, her anger – decades on – never far from the surface. I saw Fleetwood Mac play in Dublin in 2015 and the interplay between Nicks and Buckingham was still captivatingly intense. There was a sense of unfinished business there, of two former lovers whose issues with each other remained unresolved. Whatever these cryptic new posts mean, it's a chapter that remains tantalisingly open. After all this time, they're still finishing each other's sentences.
