7 big Prime Day cooling mattress topper deals ending tonight — beat the heat from just $38

There are still plenty of sleep deals around as Prime Week comes to an end, so what better way to enjoy a comfier night for less than by picking up a cooling memory foam mattress topper in the sales? Amazon is still full of Prime Day discounts on bed toppers, but many brands behind this year's best mattress toppers (and top-rated mattresses) are hosting their own rival sales, too. Budget brand Lucid has now launched a 30% off sitewide sale, which means you can now buy a Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper for as low as $37.49. Cooling memory foam mattress toppers provide the soft, body-hugging comfort of memory foam without the stuffy heat-trapping tendencies. So I suggest grabbing these mattress topper deals before this month's Prime Day mattress sales come to an end. 1. Lucid Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper: twin was from $49.99 now from $37.49 at LucidAs soon as Prime Week started, Lucid kicked off its 30% off sale, and it's brought some absolute bargains. We hailed Lucid's signature foam topper as the best cheap bed topper in our Lucid Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper review, as its ventilated design and heat-drawing gel infusion offer great temperature regulation for the price. We think this sitewide sale will end when Amazon's does, so grab a 2" queen size for $52.49 (down from $69.99) while you still can. 2. Linenspa Memory Foam Mattress Topper: twin was $39.99 now $33.99 at AmazonThis memory foam mattress topper has gained a 4+ star score (out of an impressive 129,000+ ratings) on Amazon, and has already sold out over at Linenspa's official website. The topper is infused with cooling gel to regulate temperature and reduce the risk of night sweats. Right now, a queen is $50.99 (was $59.99) thanks to a 15% Prime Day discount. 3. Serta ThermaGel 3" Memory Foam Mattress Topper: twin was $69.99 now $45.49 at AmazonBoasting a 4.3 star rating, the Serta ThermaGel is brought to you by hotel-favorite brand Serta. Its trademark THERMAGEL features cooling particles and the memory foam is deigned to dissipate heat and improve airflow for a cooler sleep. With 20% off a queen is down to $75.92 from $94.99. 4. Helix Premium Mattress Topper with GlacioTex: twin was $373.33 now $272.54 with code TOMS27 at HelixAt 3.75" thick, this hybrid topper impressed reviewers in our Helix GlacioTex Premium Mattress Topper review with its comfort-boosting thickness and excellent cooling features. Its cover is made from heat-dissipating GlacioTex (often found in the best cooling mattresses) and its layer of microcoils improves airflow. Thanks to our exclusive TOMS27 discount code, a queen is now down to $364.03 (was $498.66).This Helix mattress deal is set to end soon, though. 5. Casper Comfy Mattress Topper: twin was $199 now $159.20 at CasperOkay, I admit this isn't billed as a cooling mattress topper per se, but just read our Casper Comfy Mattress Topper review. This topper's perforated foam and soft-knit cover was more than enough to keep testers cool, and it's a great alternative to buying one of our picks in our best mattresses for side sleepers guide. Oh, and did I mention that it's hardly ever more than 10% off? So this Prime Day-rivalling 20% discount that reduces a queen to $239.20 (was $299) is a big deal. 6. Tempur-Adapt + Cooling Topper: twin was $329 now $279 at Tempur-PedicWhile the original Tempur-Adapt Topper was super comfortable, testers found it slept rather warm. However, this cooling upgrade (which costs an extra $60) gave testers for the Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Adapt + Cooling Mattress Topper review much cooler sleep with the same amount of comfort. There's now a 20% off sale at Tempur-Pedic, taking a queen to $359 (was $429). (You could also try the 40% discount code TOPPERS40, which sometimes gets me 40% off if I'm lucky.) 7. Sleep Innovations Cooling Comfort Gel Memory Foam Dual Layer Mattress Topper: twin was $109.99 now $75 at AmazonSleep Innovations' Dual Layer Mattress Topper is insanely popular on Amazon, with 4.4 stars and 32,000+ ratings. This half-foam, half-pillow-top hybrid topper is a bestseller that comes in three different models, but we suggest going for the Cooling Comfort model if you want to cool down your mattress. A queen size is now 23% off and down to $115.99 (was $149.99) in Prime Day deal.

This plush mattress topper transformed my bed and saved me from neck and back pain — and it costs less than $60

Once upon a time, my husband and I were sleeping on a really hard Queen-sized mattress. Almost every night I would toss and turn, waking up with a stiff back and neck. It wasn't fun. I complained to my husband — a lot. "Why didn't you just buy a new mattress?" you're probably thinking. Well, here's the scenario — we didn't want to buy a new king-sized bed — and all the accompanying bedroom furniture — until we bought our forever house. And we didn't want to invest in one of the best mattresses that we would only use for a year or so either before we'd move out. Finally, one night, while I was lost in the black hole that is Amazon Prime, I started looking at mattress toppers. I went straight to the page for Amazon's Choice products, which I've found to be a good starting point of well-priced and well-reviewed products. I found my favorite leggings this way, so I figured it would be a good way to find the best mattress topper, too. This is how I found the Linenspa 2-Inch Gel Infused Memory Foam Mattress Topper: a soft mattress topper that turned my bed from a hard plank to a squishy oasis. The best part? The mattress topper cost me just a little less than $60. Design The Linenspa mattress topper has a simple design: it's essentially a sheet of memory foam that goes right on top of your mattress. There's no straps to connect it to your bed: simply unroll it and it's good to go. The mattress topper is made of memory foam infused with cooling gel. The foams are CertiPUR-US certified, meaning they're free of dangerous chemicals, and the entire topper is Oeko-Tex Certified. It's available in two heights: two inches and three inches. The two-inch version is typically better if you prefer a medium-firm feel, while the three-inch version is best if you like ultimate plushness. The Linenspa mattress topper comes in a plethora of sizes from twin to California king, including twin XL, full XL, and short queen. Our review of the Linenspa Mattress Topper The mattress topper arrived the next day in vacuum-sealed packaging and was easy to unroll. It was easy for me to carry as it's less than 10 pounds, but if you have any trouble carrying that weight, I'd suggest getting a friend or family member to help. The mattress topper looked super flat at first but then quickly expanded to its full two-inches. The pad itself is blue, and the memory foam is infused with a cooling gel that supposedly captures and distributes body heat in order to help regulate temperature and keep you cool at night. I didn't really notice this aspect of the topper a lot since I just wanted to sleep on a softer surface, but my husband and I both sleep hot and we didn't wake up sweaty so I guess it helped a little. Depending on when you get your topper, I'd suggest opening it in the morning, placing it on your bed, and allowing it to "breathe" for several hours before sleeping on it. Some reviewers complain that it has an odor because it was vacuum-sealed, but I didn't experience that. Some mattress toppers come with a cover, but this one doesn't, so you might want to order one. Alternatively, you can place it under a mattress pad, which is what I did. Or you can just place it directly on your mattress and put your bed sheets on top. The first night sleeping on our doctored-up bed was honestly pretty awesome. While I can't say it was like sleeping on a cloud, it definitely transformed our hard slab to a plusher, more body-conforming mattress and we felt like we were sleeping on a new mattress. After sleeping on the bed for several weeks, my husband noticed that my back and neck pain complaints subsided substantially too. In retrospect, I should have gone with the three-inch version instead for a little more cushioning. After several months, the topper is still in great condition and has definitely made our mattress much more comfortable. I haven't noticed any sagging or denting either. Cons to consider While the mattress topper was extremely comfortable, it's worth noting that it doesn't come with straps to attach to your bed. If you're a restless sleeper, this might pose a problem, as the topper is more likely to shift around on your bed. Also, it can be difficult to know if the two-inch or three-inch topper is best for you. After trying it, I'd recommend the three-inch topper if you want a plush feel. What are your alternatives? The best budget pick in our best mattress topper guide is the Lucid Bamboo Memory Foam Topper. Like the Linenspa topper, it's a simple sheet of memory foam. It performed well in our cooling and motion isolation tests. Plus, it's super plush and has three thickness options. The bottom line The Linenspa mattress topper was an incredibly small investment for such a huge improvement in our quality of sleep. I'm really glad that I didn't spend hundreds of dollars on a topper, especially because this one worked just fine. As I mentioned before, if I could go back in time I might've chosen the plusher three-inch option, which only costs $20 more. But we're still happy with our two-inch topper and now my husband doesn't have to listen to me complain about my neck and back.

I'm a sleep writer — 3 products I'd buy to bed bug proof my mattress in the Memorial Day sales

It's officially bed bug season. The hot weather and the increase in travel over the summer is a recipe for infestations, with bed bugs feeding and breeding quicker than ever. So, what steps can you take to prevent these pests from taking over your bed? Once bed bugs enter your mattress, it's a tricky job trying to get rid of them, let alone stopping them from spreading through the rest of your home. If you've invested in one of this year's best mattresses, you'll want to protect it from creepy crawlies, not only for your sleep hygiene, but also for your sleep quality. And the good news is that you can. With these three products, currently discounted in the Memorial Day mattress sales, you can reduce the risk of bed bugs settling in your mattress, keeping your sleep environment fresh, clean and pest free. While the best mattress protectors do a great job at protecting your bed from spills, stains and accidents, they won't do much against an infestation of bed bugs. This is because they only cover the top of your mattress, and often, these pests will crawl into your mattress from underneath. The solution? A mattress encasement. These cover the whole mattress and zip up at the edge, stopping anything from reaching your bed. Opt for a breathable fabric so you don't trap heat and impact the temperature regulation of your mattress. Alternatively, anti-bed bug mattress liners are an effective solution. These are essentially fitted sheets that can stop bed bugs from feeding and breeding, which means they die within just 10 minutes of contact with the liner. Linenspa Zipped Mattress Encasement: was from $19.99 from $17.59 at AmazonNot only is this encasement waterproof, but it's also made from ultra-thin, flexible fabric to keep your bed breathable. It can fit over up to 12' mattresses, and it zips up at the foot of the bed to protect from bed bugs, dust mites and other allergens. The fabric is hypoallergenic, helping you keep a clean sleep environment, and is OEKO-Tex Standard 100 certified, meaning it has been tested and cleared for any toxic materials. Currently a queen is $21.99 (was $24.99) on Amazon, and you can request the 10-year manufacturer warranty. ActiveGuard Mattress Liner: from $61.20 at AmazonThe ActiveGuard Mattress Liner is an EPA-registered bed bug product intended to 'kill bed bugs and dust mites in mattresses and box springs.' The liner fits over your bed like a normal fitted sheet, but the hypoallergenic material is treated with Permethrin which kills bed bugs. A queen is currently $81.90 on Amazon. While a vacuum alone is unlikely to kill an infestation, it's an important bed bug prevention step. Regularly vacuuming your mattress can help reduce the build up of dust mites and other allergens, and keep a clean and hygienic sleep environment. Bed bugs are attracted to human odor and warmth and clutter creates an ideal environment for them to thrive, so keeping a tidy bedroom will help deter pests from settling in your mattress. On top of this, regularly vacuuming your mattress will get rid of any existing bed bugs or bed bug eggs, helping you spot the early signs of an infestation and taking steps to prevent it. Jigoo Mattress Vacuum Cleaner: was $169.99 now $126.99 at AmazonThis powerful vacuum cleaner has a UV light technology built in to kill dust mites and other allergens. On top of this, it's heated air maintains a 140°F temperature, which kills bacteria, and is hot enough to kill bed bugs and their eggs. You'll be able to watch the digital screen as you vacuum which shows a real-time cleanliness index so you can ensure every inch of your bed is clean. Right now, it's discounted to $126.99 (was $169.99) on Amazon. While no mattress can prevent bed bugs alone, you can keep a super fresh and clean bed set up by investing in an anti-allergen mattress. These are beds that have a hypoallergenic cover or use hypoallergenic materials which help to prevent dust mites, pollen, pet dander, dead skin and more from accumulating and building up in your bed. While it won't stop bed bugs, it'll help you maintain a clean environment that will naturally deter them. Birch Natural mattress: was from $1,373.33 now from $1,030 at BirchThe best organic mattresses often incorporate hypoallergenic natural latex instead of synthetic materials like memory foam, and the Birch Natural mattress is a great example of this. Made from layers of organic wool, latex and cotton, the mattress is breathable and moisture wicking, as well as naturally repellant to allergens. Read our full Birch Natural mattress review to see if it's the right choice for you. A queen is currently discounted for Memorial Day to $1,399 (was $1,865.33), and you'll get a 100-night trial, a limited lifetime warranty and fast free shipping.
