StopAntisemitism founder warns Mamdani as NYC mayor would be 'catastrophic' for residents
StopAntisemitism founder Liora Rez said electing Zohran Mamdani as New York City mayor would not only be "catastrophic" for Jewish residents, but all who reside in the city. "If Zohran Mamdani was elected as mayor, it would be hands down catastrophic for Jewish residents of New York City," Rez told Fox News Digital. "And we would even take it a step further where citizens of New York City in general, due to his very troubling stances on socialism, would greatly suffer as well." Mamdani has recently faced backlash from several Democrats and members of the press for refusing to condemn the anti-Israel slogan "globalize the intifada" — a phrase which Rez described as a call for violence against Jewish people. Rez, who founded StopAntisemitism in 2018 to expose antisemites and hold them accountable, also raised concerns that Mamdani has reportedly taken part in protests against Israel in the past and has "been friendly with radical antisemites." "I think individuals who are concerned that Zohran Mamdani is antisemitic have every single right to be concerned considering his past behavior," Rez said. "… We can list dozens of examples of his past antisemitic adjacent and direct antisemitic actions." Mamdani, the 33-year-old New York state assembly member, has been an outspoken critic of Israel and has even vowed to have Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrested if he visits New York City. In mid-June, when asked on a podcast about phrases like "from the river to the sea" and "globalize the intifada," Mamdani responded, "I know people for whom those things mean very different things, and to me, ultimately, what I hear in so many, is a desperate desire for equality and equal rights in standing up for Palestinian human rights." President Donald Trump blasted Mamdani on Tuesday and threatened to arrest the New York State assemblyman should he fail to comply with federal immigration officials. "Well, then we'll have to arrest him," Trump told reporters Tuesday. "Look, we don't need a communist in this country, but if we have one, I'm going to be watching over them very carefully on behalf of the nation. We send him money, we send him all the things that he needs to run a government." Mamdani did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

Anti-Israel group sends email blast to Jewish NYC teachers urging ‘civil disobedience' for May Day strike: ‘Not feeling safe'
An anti-Israel group sent an email blast to city teachers pushing for a May Day strike and other 'civil disobedience' to protest the Gaza war, riling Jewish educators and sparking an investigation. The Labor for Palestine Network called for union members to rise up against 'the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza' and even coordinate their efforts with student groups in the alarming screed, which teachers were told to ignore by city school officials. 'I'm not feeling safe when I get an email like that,' said one Jewish teacher at PS 75 on the Upper West Side, who received the email on Friday. 'When I woke up [and got this email], I was absolutely shocked.' Advertisement 3 The Labor for Palestine Network sent an email blast to city teachers pushing for a May Day strike and other 'civil disobedience' to protest the Gaza war, riling Jewish educators and sparking an investigation. The city Department of Education is now probing the email blast and investigating how many school employees received the message, which blasted the US government's 'bipartisan support for Israeli violence contributing to the devastation.' 'Our struggles for workers' rights and the fight against occupation and colonialism are inseparable,' said the e-letter, signed 'In Solidarity' by 'Margaret' from the group. Advertisement 'The call to action is clear: it is time to move beyond speeches and statements,' the letter went on. 'We must take concrete steps to create real pressure, including organizing general strikes, participating in widespread civil disobedience, and coordinating efforts with the student movement.' The network supports the controversial boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement, or BDS, against Israel. Jewish civil rights activists such as the Anti-Defamation League consider BDS a campaign rooted in antisemitism. 3 The Labor for Palestine Network called for union members to rise up against 'the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza' and even coordinate their efforts with student groups, according to reports. Obtained by NY Post Jewish civil rights activists slammed the letter and lamented that 'pro-Hamas propaganda' is now infiltrating K-12 schools as well as college campuses. Advertisement 'It is disgraceful that anti-Israel activists are infiltrating teacher networks to push pro-Hamas propaganda and incite violence,' said Liora Rez, founder of StopAntisemitism. 'Teachers are meant to educate, not be weaponized to support terror. '[New York State United Teachers union] leadership must immediately and unequivocally condemn this dangerous infiltration and urge education professionals to stay true to their mission.' The local NYSUT affiliate, the United Federation of Teachers, received a complaint via email and alerted Schools Chancellor Melissa Aviles-Ramos' office. Advertisement 'In that process, the NYPD was also made aware of our concerns,' a union spokesperson said. 'In this instance, the complaint was about an email sent to an educator's DOE work email address, which the union does not control. The UFT does not share its member email lists.' At PS 75 and most other public schools, the email addresses of teachers and other staffers are accessible from the schools' public websites. 3 The city Department of Education is now probing the email blast and investigating how many school employees received the message. 'This email was not sent or authorized by New York City Public Schools,' a DOE spokesperson said. 'We remain committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all, and no official communications should contain political rhetoric, in accordance with Chancellor's Regulation D-130. 'Staff who received the message should not respond from their official account.'

Group calls on Bondi to probe children's YouTuber for Gaza-Israel posts
(NewsNation) — A privately-funded advocacy organization is calling on Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate popular children's YouTuber Ms. Rachel over posts about the war in Gaza. Rachel Griffin Accurso, who goes by Ms. Rachel to her more than 14 million subscribers, makes videos for children for speech therapy and learning preschool skills. The group StopAntisemitism wrote to Bondi to argue that the influencer should be investigated over whether she has been paid to spread propaganda for Hamas, the Palestinian militant group in Gaza. It was first reported by the New York Post. Stocks slightly higher after markets open mixed The group argues Accurso made claims about children in Gaza that Israel later debunked. 'Given the vast sums of foreign funds that have been directed toward propagandizing our young people on college campuses, we suspect there is a similar dynamic in the online influencer space,' StopAntisemitism Director Liora Rez said in the letter. The group argued Accurso has been 'incorporating Hamas-like propagated images and stories into her content.' Accurso has frequently posted about the living conditions in Gaza for children to her 2.5 million Instagram followers. Unlike her YouTube content, her Instagram posts are more geared toward adults. She has highlighted the destruction in Gaza since Hamas's war with Israel began in 2023 and has called for better conditions and humanitarian aid for the children. IRS deadline for $1,400 stimulus checks approaching The group has argued that Accurso incorrectly reported the child death toll in Gaza, as the largely reported Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry does not distinguish between civilians and its militants when sharing its death totals. StopAntisemitism was formed in October 2018 by social media influencer Liora Rez. The organization has been criticized for its name-and-shame approach and has been accused of doxxing (searching for and publishing private or identifying information about a particular individual on the internet, typically with malicious intent) individuals. In 2024, the Washington Post revealed that more than 36 people had been fired from their jobs after the group allegedly exposed antisemitic comments.
