Parent Trap reunion! Lindsay Lohan supported by two co-stars from iconic film at Freakier Friday premiere

Lindsay Lohan enjoyed a red carpet reunion with two of her co-stars from her beloved 1998 movie The Parent Trap this week. The 39-year-old was attending the premiere of her new film Freakier Friday, a sequel to her 2003 picture Freaky Friday led by her and Jamie Lee Curtis. But while celebrating the follow-up to one of her fan favorite pictures, she also managed to give a tip of the hat to another one. At age 12, Lindsay became a star in The Parent Trap playing long-separated twins who hatch a plan to reignite the romance between their divorced mother (Natasha Richardson) and father (Dennis Quaid). Elaine Hendrix featured as the father's gold-digging girlfriend, while Lisa Ann Walter also held a supporting role as his housekeeper. Both Elaine, 54, and Lisa, 61, proudly posed alongside Lindsay at the Freakier Friday premiere at Hollywood's iconic El Capitan Theater on Tuesday. Lindsay was the image of showbiz glamour as she mingled at the event, decked out in a strapless bubblegum pink gown with a voluminous pleated skirt. Accentuating her strikingly smooth complexion with makeup, she accessorized with a dazzling Lorraine Schwartz necklace for her latest red carpet. Meanwhile Lisa cut a snappy figure in a monochrome pinstriped trouser suit, and Elaine slid into a white cocktail dress speckled with mirror work. While on the red carpet, Lindsay shared that reuniting with Elaine and Lisa made her 'still feel like a little girl sometimes,' via Entertainment Tonight. She observed that 'when you spend so much time with people on sets, and also when you're so young you grow up with these people, you experience real life with them as well, and when you stay in contact, which is the beautiful thing, yeah, you feel like you're just always together in a way.' 'It was a lovely reunion,' Lisa told Extra, saying Lindsay 'looked genuinely happy, which you know, in Hollywood you can kind of roll the dice on whether or not people are shining you on. But she's just, I think, a version of who she was as a little girl, and lovely and happy, and it's just wonderful to see her shine like this.' Elaine, who has a cameo in Freakier Friday, revealed that she stayed at Lisa's home while filming her portion of Lindsay's new movie in secret. Lisa gushed that she was 'so proud' of Elaine, whom she called her 'bestie' while speaking on the red carpet to The Hollywood Reporter. 'I'm proud of the work she does and how she looks and the person that she is.' 'I would take Lisa with me everywhere if I could,' said Elaine. 'I would put her in my pocket and I would take her everywhere because I always feel safer and more loved and more well-fed when I am with her.' She reflected that working with Lindsay again on their upcoming movie 'was a trip,' revealing that 'I hadn't seen her since she was a little girl, except growing up in the press like the rest of the world saw her.' Elaine added: 'But I had a special inside window into her that no one else did, and so when I came and reunited with her, there was first and foremost a real sense of familiarity about her. And then there was also like: 'Oh, you're a whole different person now!' She's had a whole life since I had seen her. 'So it was a real mixed bag, all these emotions, all these great things just came flooding in, and I was so happy and proud and it was so fun and just the best.' Lisa pointed out the change she had noticed in Lindsay since the Mean Girls star welcomed her two-year-old son Luai with her financier husband Bader Shammas, whom she lives with in Dubai, where he holds a position at Credit Suisse. 'I keep finding myself looking at her when she comes over or walks into my view,' said Lisa: 'and just the light that's coming out of her now as a mom and a grown woman is so beautiful. She just looks so happy, which is wonderful.' The original Freaky Friday was based on a novel by Mary Rodgers, the daughter of The Sound of Music and Oklahoma! composer Richard Rodgers. Jamie Lee and Lindsay starred respectively as a mother and daughter who switch bodies, enabling each to develop a greater understanding of the other. In the sequel, Lindsay's character has a daughter and a stepdaughter-to-be, and the three of them - plus Jamie Lee's character - wind up in a four-way body swap. With a cast that includes Mandy Jacinto, Mark Harmon and Chad Michael Murray, the new film is slated for theatrical release on August 8.

90s movie stars, 61, and 54, look unrecognisable as they reunite on the red carpet 27 years after smash hit movie

NINETIES move stars Lisa Ann Walter and Elaine Hendrix looked very different as they attended the Freakier Friday premiere. Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis reunited for the comedy sequel, 22 years after they starred in Freaky Friday. 6 6 6 6 But that wasn't the only reunion at the premiere. At the Los Angeles red carpet on Tuesday, Hollywood star Lindsey, 39, was also reunited Parent Trap co-stars Lisa, 61, and Elaine, 54. Lindsay was just 12 when she played identical twins Annie James and Hallie Parker in the 1998 family movie. Identical twins Hallie and Annie are separated after their parents' divorce. Years later, they discover each other at a summer camp and decide to switch places in an effort to reunite their parents. Elaine is probably best known for her role as The Parent Trap's snobby villain and stepmum Meredith Foster. While Lisa portrayed kind-hearted Chessy, nanny to the identical twins, born on October 11. The former co-stars delighted fans as they posed for together at the glitzy event. Lindsay looked glamorous in a pink and silver beaded gown with her blonde hair beautifully curled to one side. She flashed a big smile sandwiched between the two actresses. Elaine wore a cream dress with silver embodied star detail on it, with her hair in tight curls and some red lipstick. Lindsay Lohan fans spot huge change to her 'new' face as she appears on Andy Cohen's show Lisa looked chic in a black pinstripe suit and black vest top. She accessorised with gold drop earrings, black sunglasses and her luscious red hair in loose waves. Elaine went on to star in The Narrative and Joan of Arcadia, and more recently starred in the popular Netflix TV show Dynasty as Alexis Carrington, the character originally played by Joan Collins. She took over from Nicolette Sheridan who left the series due health complications. "Replacing a role that's been going on for a couple of years is not something I've done before," Elaine said. An animal rights activist, she also runs The Pet Matchmaker, an organisation concerned with the rescue, foster and adoption of homeless pets. In 2023 Elaine discovered her great-grandparents lived on the same street in New York as her Parent Trap co-star Lisa in the early 1900s and very likely socialised together. While in a bizarre coincidence, Lisa gave birth to her own identical twins three years after the film's release - and they too were born on October 11. She went on to star in Bruce Almighty with Jim Carrey, and the blockbuster War of the Worlds. Lisa is also the creator and executive producer of the reality weight-loss competition Dance Your Ass Off, on US TV. She is still close friends with Elaine and their co-star Simon Kunz, who played butler Martin in the movie. 6 6

Parent Trap actress reveals she is on board for a reboot

Lisa Ann Walter, who played Chessy in the 1998 film The Parent Trap, is open to a reboot of the movie. Walter stated that a reboot would only be viable if Nancy Meyers, the original co-writer and director, were to write it. She expressed a desire for original stars Lindsay Lohan and Dennis Quaid to also be involved in any potential remake. Walter acknowledged the challenge of a reboot without Natasha Richardson, who played the twins' mother and passed away in 2009. Walter maintains close contact with her former Parent Trap castmates, including Elaine Hendrix, Lindsay Lohan, and Dennis Quaid.

Parent Trap star open to a reboot — under one condition

The Parent Trap star Lisa Ann Walter is fully on board for a reboot of the hit 1998 film — as long as the writer stays the same. 'One hundred percent if Nancy Meyers wrote it,' Walter said at a recent Abbott Elementary event. Meyers co-wrote The Parent Trap, which also marked her feature film directorial debut. She, of course, went on to write some of the biggest rom-coms in history, including Something's Gotta Give, The Holiday, and It's Complicated. The Parent Trap not only launched her career as a director but also established her signature cozy, aspirational aesthetic Speaking further to her idea of a reboot, Walter, who played housekeeper Chessy in the hit 1998 film, said she would want fellow stars Lindsay Lohan and Dennis Quaid involved, too. 'Dennis [Quaid] has said that he doesn't think it's doable without Natasha, and I understand that,' Walter said of British actor Richardson, who died in 2009 at age 45 after a ski accident. 'The movie — it's a kids' story, but it's a love story. So to have a love story that involves that grief, that sadness — if it was written beautifully, maybe it's doable.' The film, which was a remake of the 1961 original, catapulted Lohan to fame as she portrayed twins Hallie and Annie James, who were separated by their parents shortly after birth. The twins, who were living across the pond from one another, connect on a whim at a summer camp their respective parents sent them to. Quaid starred as the twins' father, Nick Parker, while Richardson played their mother, Elizabeth James. Elaine Hendrix played Quaid's new love interest, Meredith Blake, and remains close with Walter, who told People the two 'talk literally every day.' Walter also keeps in touch with her other castmates, including Lohan. 'Lindsay will DM me on Instagram,' Walter shared. 'I text her father here and there — like, 'Lindsay wanted me to tell you so and so,'' she continued. During the pandemic, Walter even found herself delivering homemade meals to Quaid's house, not unlike Chessy would do for Nick Parker in the film. 'I was cooking for everybody I knew,' she told People. 'I made big pans of food and had them delivered to his house because he had his kids over there.' Walter has since gone on to star in the films Bruce Almighty and Shall We Dance? and has been a cast member on the acclaimed series Abbott Elementary since 2021.

Quinta Brunson: Abbott Elementary cast would 'love to pursue other projects'

Quinta Brunson is "looking forward" to her future away from Abbott Elementary. The 35-year-old actress' comedy series has been renewed for a fifth season but she admitted some of her co-stars on the show - which include Sheryl Lee Ralph, Tyler James Williams, Lisa Ann Walter, Janelle James, William Stanford Davis, and Chris Perfetti - would "love" to pursue other projects, while Quinta herself is looking forward to playing something other than a teacher. She told Bustle: "We are so fortunate and blessed to be on a network TV show for five seasons, and for people to still be fans. 'That being said, I have cast members who would love to pursue other projects, and our show is very time-consuming. We shoot about seven months out of the year. That can stop people from being able to do a lot of other things. "Right now, I'm receiving scripts, and waiting for that moment that feels like, 'Oh man, this is exactly what I've been looking for.' Abbott has been so successful, and I want to use that success to get other people's projects off the ground. "I'm always interested in playing against type. I think that's any actor's dream. Right now my type is 'Janine' and 'teacher.' I'm looking forward to moving away from that a little bit." Quinta is always "excited" to go to work on Abbott Elementary and knows she needs to set a good example to the rest of the cast and crew. She said: "People used to tell me at the beginning of this that the number one on the call sheet sets the tone, and the producer sets the tone — and I'm both of those roles. "I understand now, after doing this for four years, how important it was that I set the tone that I did when we first started. "Sometimes it's as simple as I'm the first one in the morning, and the way I carry myself in the morning can determine how the rest of the set runs, not only as an actor, but as the creator of the show. I try to come in with a good attitude and a positive attitude, and it's not hard to do. I'm very excited to go to work and appreciative of my cast and crew and naturally want the morale up."
