The system relies on satellite communication with ground stations and user terminals that require a clear view of the sky. Starlink down in US? Thousands of users report outages on Elon Musk's satellite internet service
United States-based users are reporting outages affecting SpaceX's Starlink service, according to outage tracking website DownDetector. At the time of writing this report, there have been around 1,000 reports of problems accessing Starlink's internet service, with 86 per cent of users citing 'network issues' and 14 per cent reporting a 'total blackout'. Starlink, a subsidiary of Elon Musk's rocket company SpaceX, operates a network of satellites in Earth's orbit that work together to provide high-speed internet. You may be interested in The company offers high-speed, low-latency broadband internet globally through satellite technology. It uses a constellation of 7,000 (intended to increase to 40,000) low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites, situated 550 km above the Earth. Its LEO satellites are the world's largest and deliver broadband internet capable of supporting streaming, online gaming, and video calls. Its most acclaimed use case is the ability to provide internet access in rural and underserved areas, where traditional options like cable or fibre are unreliable or unavailable. For the tech to work, Starlink's satellites communicate with ground stations and user terminals, which require an unobstructed, clear view of the sky. In the United States, the Residential Lite plan costs around $80 ( ₹ 6,800) per month and includes unlimited, albeit deprioritised, data. Customers are also required to purchase a Starlink standard kit for a one-time fee of $349 ( ₹ 29,700). The company also offers roam plans for users who travel frequently, starting at $50 ( ₹ 4,200) for 50GB of data, with an additional $299 ( ₹ 25,400) charge for the Starlink Mini Kit. 'Starlink works rather poorly compared to the claims,' wrote one user on the DownDetector comments section. 'I can't connect to any of my mobile games on wifi, and yesterday I could.' added another user. 'Starlink is only great when it is working. Then they suddenly restrict your connection, no email, no call. Ticket opened by AI, 3 days no resolution, no email, no contact centre. And they are expanding rapidly. Brace for zero customer service when there is an issue,' added yet another user.

A ton of Nintendo Switch games and accessories are on sale for Prime Day
Day three of Amazon Prime Day (week) is here, offering Prime members discounts on almost every major category across the retailer's site. You can also find deals on tech, household essentials, sneakers and more. I frequently cover shopping events like Prime Day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday as a writer for NBC Select, so I know how to find deals that are actually worth buying. Plus, I've been gaming on the Nintendo Switch since 2017, enjoying everything from roguelikes like Hades to open-world RPGs like Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. (That said, I have yet to get my hands on the recently launched Nintendo Switch 2.) I combed through thousands of discounts to find the best Prime Day Nintendo Switch deals for both the original models and the new Nintendo Switch 2 — each one I recommend below is highly rated, at least 20% off and at its lowest price in at least three months. I'll frequently update this list throughout Prime Day. Best Prime Day Nintendo Switch deals This Nintendo-licensed memory card gives you 128 gigabytes to store downloaded games, screenshots, and video captures. It also has faster read and write speeds, so games load more quickly and have less lag. It works with the original Nintendo Switch and OLED and Lite versions, but not the Nintendo Switch 2. If you've snagged a Switch 2, which Nintendo just released in June, protect it with this precision-fit case. It's slim and lightweight while offering protection from drops, bumps, and scratches, thanks to a plush interior. It also has 12 slots for game cards and an adjustable handle. Designed to fit the original Nintendo Switch lineup — including the OLED and Lite models — this carrying case protects your console with a firm outer shell and padded interior. It also has a large zippered mesh pocket for cords and other accessories, nine game card slots, two micro SD card slots, and a padded screen cover that doubles as a stand. Since you can take the Nintendo Switch on the go, it helps to have a dock that's similarly portable. Unlike the bulky storage dock that comes with the Switch, this has a much slimmer profile and is lightweight, allowing you to pack it and set it up. You can play either on the TV (with an HDMI cable, which isn't included) or on the tabletop, since it also works as a stand. Licensed by Nintendo, this wireless, AA battery-powered Switch Controller works for the original Nintendo Switch as well as the OLED and Lite models, and is decked out with imagery from Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It has an ergonomic design for extra comfort, precision-tuned joysticks, and mappable buttons, which you can program mid-game. One of the few accessories that works with the Switch 2, Switch, and OLED version, this charging dock has four Joycon chargers and bidirectional charging, meaning you can place your console facing either direction; the original dock only charges in one direction. It has indicator lights to let you know when your Joy-Cons are fully charged and space for the charging cable. If you're into cozy, farming simulation games like Stardew Valley, it's worth giving this game a shot; it was first released back in 2003, making it a pioneer in the genre. Plant crops, brush livestock, and fish in the river while making friends and romancing characters in the titular Mineral Town. Best Prime Day Nintendo Switch sales Here are the best Prime Day Nintendo Switch sales to know about. Keep in mind, not every item from a brand is discounted as described below. Up to 53% off Nintendo Switch 2 accessories Up to 55% off Nintendo Switch games Up to 38% off Nintendo Switch and OLED accessories Up to 32% off Sandisk MicroSD cards Best Nintendo Switch sales at other retailers Best Buy: Up to 40% off Nintendo Switch games Nintendo: Up to 85% off Nintendo Switch games, DLCs, and digital downloads How I found the best Prime Day Nintendo Switch deals All of my recommendations above are based on NBC Select's previous coverage and reporting. I also included products the NBC Select staff love and use. I ran each deal through price trackers like CamelCamelCamel to ensure products are at their lowest price ever or their lowest price in at least three months. All the products I recommend are highly rated items with at least a 4.0-star average rating from hundreds of reviews. Why trust NBC Select? I'm a writer for NBC Select who has covered deals and sales for four years. To round up the best discounts on Nintendo Switch games and accessories uring Prime Day, I found highly rated products at their lowest price in at least three months. I've also been playing the Nintendo Switch since 2017.

New Delhi: In a major move, KRBL, the leading company that produces basmati rice under the India Gate brand, has made its foray into the edible oils segment. As per the company's plan, KRBL aims to generate a revenue of Rs 200–300 crore within the next three years through its new offering of blended oil products and wants to target health-conscious consumers. As per the company's official, KRBL had launched two variants of edible oil under its 'India Gate Uplife' range in February — one called 'Gut Pro' and the other 'Lite'. These products are priced at Rs 192–199 per litre. Company Enters Edible Oil Business Talking about KRBL's big move, company's Business Head (Domestic), Ayush Gupta, said that until now, only one brand — Saffola — has dominated the blended edible oil category, with a market size of 1.1 lakh tonnes. 'We are going to expand this,' he said. Gupta further added that the company is targeting sales of 2,000 tonnes and revenue of around ₹50 crore in the current financial year. Ayush also said that over the next three years, their goal is to achieve sales of 8,000–10,000 tonnes and revenue of ₹200–300 crore. He also mentioned that the new products are priced 5.7% higher than Saffola's blended oil variants, as KRBL has positioned itself as a premium brand. KRBL has outsourced the production and packaging of the blended edible oils. The products are currently available in modern retail stores and on leading e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms, with general trade distribution to follow. All you need to know about Gut Pro and Lite Oils: Gut Pro is a blend of 80% rice bran oil and 20% refined soybean oil It is formulated to support gut health and digestion. Kunal Sharma, Head of Marketing and Business at KRBL, said that currently, apart from Saffola, no blended edible oil in the market addresses health-related concerns. He added that rice bran oil comprises 260,000 tonnes, while the blended oil segment is around 110,000 tonnes. KRBL Limited recorded a revenue of ₹4,000 crore during the financial year 2024–25.

You can now pre-order Hugging Face's Reachy Mini robots
Hugging Face has launched a new AI-powered robot called the Reachy Mini. Described by its maker in a new blog as an "expressive, open-source robot designed for human-robot interaction, creative coding, and AI experimentation," the Reachy Mini is targeted at anyone with an interest in this growing field of robotics. Its various functions and behaviors can be coded in Python, with support for JavaScript and Scratch due to be added later. As you might have guessed from the name, the Reachy Mini is a compact robot, measuring just 28cm tall and 16cm wide. This means you can easily place it next to your computer on a desk, or the kitchen island while you cook. It comes in variants: the fully autonomous Reachy Mini, which is powered by a Raspberry Pi 5 and can run wirelessly from a built-in battery; and the wired-only Reachy Mini Lite, which currently only works with Mac and Linux. Hugging Face notes the Lite is still in early development. It also lacks the accelerometer that the pricier model has. Otherwise, both robots are broadly similar, with both featuring two animated antennas, full body rotation and six degrees of head movement, as well as a single wide-angle camera and a 5W speaker. They both have microphones, but the Reachy Mini has four, while the Lite has only two. They're sold as buildable kits that you assemble yourself. More than 15 demos can be accessed on the Hugging Face hub at launch, so you can start messing around straight away, and anything you program yourself can be shared with the Hugging Face community (and vice versa), which the company says has more than 10 million members. Hugging Face is taking orders for the $299 Reachy Mini Lite and $449 wireless Reachy Mini now, with the former expected to ship late summer 2025, and the more fully-featured model rolling out in batches from fall through 2026.
