Casting News: Josh Hutcherson's HBO Comedy, Chicago Fire Vet's New Role and More
Josh Hutcherson is looking for laughs again: The actor — who previously starred in the Hulu comedy Future Man — has joined Bottoms star/co-writer Rachel Sennott's untitled HBO comedy series, our sister site Deadline reports.
Hunger Games vet Hutcherson replaces Miles Robbins in the show, in which 'a codependent friend group reunites, navigating how the time apart, ambition, and new relationships have changed them,' per the official synopsis.

In addition to Sennott — who also writes and executive-produces the project — the cast includes Odessa A'zion (Grand Army, Fam), Jordan Firstman (Ms. Marvel, Search Party) and True Whitaker (Godfather of Harlem), with Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl, Single Parents) and Quenlin Blackwell appearing as guest stars.

* Andy Allo (Upload, Chicago Fire) will star in the limited series The Eagles of Newark as Effa Manley, 'a trailblazing civil rights activist and the only woman inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame,' our sister site Variety reports. The project, which does not yet have a network attached, follows 'the dramatic efforts of Effa and her husband Abe as they embark upon a risky business venture—starting their own ball club in the raucous world of the Negro Baseball Leagues.'
* Michael Chiklis (The Shield) has joined BMF Season 4 as DEA Agent Taylor, 'a no nonsense cop who assists in the pursuit of BMF, while adding to Meech and Terry's growing list of enemies.'
* Sistas Season 9 has added Darone Okolie (All American, Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty), Walnette Marie Santiago (Doom Patrol, BMF), and Sullivan Jones (Elsbeth, The Guilded Age) in recurring roles, per Deadline.
