Woman lets Oasis fans camp in her garden for free but doesn't expect reaction

Liv Bridge, who lives near Heaton Park in Manchester, offered to let Oasis fans camp in her garden for free - but she didn't expect her generous offer to go viral Oasis fans are eagerly awaiting the day when Liam and Noel Gallagher reunite and perform for the first time in 16 years. The massive tour kicks off today in Cardiff, before moving to the Gallagher's hometown of Manchester on Friday July 11. Additional shows will take place on July 12, 16, and 19 in the city's Heaton Park. However, due to the band's popularity, everything has become rather pricey. Tickets were expensive, with some fans shelling out as much as £355 to see the Britpop band live. On top of that, supporters will have to consider high drinks prices, transport and accommodation costs. ‌ Rooms at some of Manchester city centre's 'most affordable hotels' are being sold for as much as £500 on the first weekend that Oasis are set to return to their home city. ‌ Upon hearing this, one woman decided to offer her home to fans for free. Liv Bridge announced last year, when tickets were released, that she would let people camp in her garden under one condition. The writer posted on X: "I live right by Heaton Park. If you're an Oasis fan and don't want to fork out £100s for a place to kip, you can camp in my garden. For free. The only condition is that you get a ticket for me too. I'll pay for it, and I'll even throw in brews, breakfast and a driveway." The generous woman, who shares her home with a housemate, added: "This is actually a serious offer! I've got my parents and pals all at the ready for Saturday 9am, but anything to increase my chances." She also highlighted that camping at her place comes with perks such as a BBQ, an outdoor seating area, outdoor plug sockets, and the convenience of supermarkets and McDonald's within walking distance. Liv remarked: "Me and my housemate are peculiar but fun, entertaining hosts." ‌ In her piece for Bury Times, she expressed: "I couldn't imagine being in a position where you've got a ticket and are then priced out of the chance to come to the gig because greedy hotels want your arm and your leg for it, too." Yet, her kind gesture to strangers online has exploded into a viral sensation, with more than seven million people viewing her post. ‌ Her inbox was inundated with hundreds of messages from people eager to accept her offer. On TikTok, Liv shared a video expressing her astonishment at the unexpected attention. She commented: "Point of view: you accidentally go viral... because 400 people want to camp in your garden for Oasis... My back garden is about to turn into Glastonbury!" In a subsequent post on X, she revealed: "I didn't expect to get so many responses in the first place. It was just a passing tweet; an idea I put it out into the universe just to see what happens." ‌ Responding to the post, one person exclaimed: "This is amazing." Another concurred, saying: "This a great deal." And a third chimed in: "Great thinking! Good luck, it's a genius idea."
