In simple terms, investors might lose money in such a scenario. That explains why advisors do not speak about these schemes often. Needless to say investors should be extremely cautious about these schemes in the current scenario. Long term debt schemes are extremely sensitive to interest rate changes. They lose money when interest rates go up. When rates are falling, they benefit the most. According to investment experts, when one invests for a long period in debt instruments, the investor is forced to go through an interest cycle that would have an upward and downward phase. This means the investor might see a lot of volatility and sometimes losses when the interest rates start hardening or going up. Needless to say, the opposite scenario might benefit investors. Live Events Investment advisors believe that many conservative investors would not be able to go through turbulent phases. Investors can avoid this only if they time their entry and exit into long-term debt funds. Many investors would find it difficult to predict the interest rate movements and getting in and out of the schemes. That explains the advice to stick to short term funds. However, this doesn't mean that you should not be familiar with the medium and long duration category. Those with a risk appetite and long investment horizon, can invest in these schemes with the help of competent mutual fund advisors. Trump channels Xi's China surveillance playbook as ICE deploys facial recognition app to identify people
The Trump administration is extending its surveillance powers within the US quietly, arming Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers with a new mobile app that can scan fingerprints or faces on the street to identify individuals by just pointing a smartphone camera at them, as per a report. US Surveillance on the Streets As per ICE's internal emails obtained by 404 Media revealed that the app, named 'Mobile Fortify', is already being used by ICE for the facial recognition component of the app for people entering or exiting the United States, but now that system is being used inside the US by ICE to identify people in the field, as reported by 404 Media. What Is Mobile Fortify? One of the emails, which was sent to all Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), mentioned that, 'The Mobile Fortify App empowers users with real-time biometric identity verification capabilities utilizing contactless fingerprints and facial images captured by the camera on an ICE issued cell phone without a secondary collection device,' as quoted in the report. According to the 404 Media report, the main purpose of ICE is to use this new tool to identify people whose identity ICE officers do not know. The email pointed out that, 'This information can be used to identify unknown subjects in the field,' adding, 'Officers are reminded that the fingerprint matching is currently the most accurate biometric indicator available in the application,' as quoted in the report. ALSO READ: Palantir Under Siege: Protesters rage over surveillance, ICE links in NYC office blockade Live Events A Digital Way to Deportation The use of the Mobile Fortify app is one of the latest examples of ICE, which comes amid the Trump administration's increasing use of high-end technology for its mass deportation efforts and ICE's enforcement of its arrest quotas of 3,000 arrests per day, as reported by 404 Media. The 404 Media reported, citing an internal ICE data seen by NBC News, which said that the Trump administration has arrested only 6% of known immigrant murderers. While ICE has continued to detain nonviolent, working members of immigrant communities who have lived in the country for decades, especially in Los Angeles, as reported by 404 Media. Civil Liberties Concerns Meanwhile, civil liberties proponents have constantly feared and critiqued the biometric systems, as per the report. The deputy director of the American Civil Liberties Union's Speech, Privacy, and Technology Project, Nathan Freed Wessler, highlighted that, 'Face recognition technology is notoriously unreliable, frequently generating false matches and resulting in a number of known wrongful arrests across the country. Immigration agents relying on this technology to try to identify people on the street is a recipe for disaster. Congress has never authorized DHS to use face recognition technology in this way, and the agency should shut this dangerous experiment down,' as quoted in the report. Catching Up With Chuckyy
WhenXXLdroppedits 2025 Freshman Class of emerging hip-hop talent earlier this week, the comments section seemed divided over this year's selection of rappers. However, the consensus among many seemed to be one key notable missing face, ascendant Chicago rapper Chuckyy. At just 19 years old, the Lil Durk protégé is pioneering his own distinct drill sound. With hints of horror-core and a refreshing nonchalance, the rising young rapper represents the new era of Chicago rap, also working closely with the city's local legendLUCKI. Fresh off hisI Live, I Die, I Live Againrelease and a recent performance atLyrical Lemonade's Summer Smash, the rapper is already ready for his new move: a tour, a deluxe edition, and, hopefully, becoming the richest rapper in the world. But first, Chuckyy pulled up to Chinatown for a quick chat about his Chi-town come-up. Your latest project has been very well-received. Do you pay attention to the reviews and ratings? I feel very blessed about that. I try not to read the reviews too much, but I appreciate every single person who has poured one out to the album or supported it in any way. Where did the album title come from? It's one of my favorite lines, and I think it really emulates the journey of this album and the different stages of life I've been going through. You go up, you go down, but you keep going. What about the cover art? The poses are inspired byChuckyon the cover art. What were some of the biggest sources of inspiration for you on this album? For this album especially, the fans have been the inspiration. I've been really active with them lately and have been trying to actually listen to what they want from my music. What does it mean to work with a legend in your city like LUCKI? I've been listening to LUCKI forever, long before I was even rapping. It's so crazy to get to call him a peer of mine and get to rap together on one of my own tracks. That was the last thing on my checklist, for real. Now I'm done. Now I can really have fun. Shoutout Luck. Lil Durk is another mentor of yours. Tell me more about his influence on you. He's such an inspiration to me. To see someone from the same place as me be able to achieve such big things – it's so motivational. It's helped me so much. You're just 19 – do you ever feel like you're moving too fast? No sir. I don't think I'm missing out on being a 19-year-old. I don't think I'm growing up too fast. I don't think I'm living too fast. How do you approach writing songs? All my tracks come together from scratch. My engineer and I are locked in, and he'll make a beat, send it over, and I'll just hop on it. I'm going to record a song after this interview. I actually sat down and wrote it before. That's crazy. I haven't done that in so long. What's next for you? A tour is definitely on my mind. Also, a lot of music. I'm not about cliffhangers. Everything they see is going to drop. If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be? Lil Uzi Vert. What's your most underrated song? It's called 'King Tut.' It's from when I just started rapping. It still doesn't have a million views. You've debuted on Billboard, broken millions of streams – what's your 'I made it' moment? When I'm the richest rapper alive.

See Photos of Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Husband Brad Hall as the Couple Celebrates Their 38th Wedding Anniversary
Julia Louis-Dreyfus first met husband Brad Hall at Northwestern University back in the '80s and the rest was history. The pair, who performed together while in college, would later take their talents to Saturday Night Live and beyond. They got married on June 25, 1987 and welcomed their first son Henry Hall on June 30, 1992. Five years later, they grew their family as their second boy, Charles Hall, joined the family. Over the years, the couple has also collaborated on a few projects, including SNL, an early-2000s comedy titled Watching Ellie and a 2012 short film called Picture Paris. 'He always appreciates the hard work but sometimes he'll say… we are honest with one another so that if he doesn't think it quite works or something, he'll tell me why. And I'll do the same with his work,' Louis-Dreyfus revealed while on Live with Kelly and Mark back in 2023. As the couple celebrates 38 years of marriage, look back at some of their sweetest pictures below. Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Hall met when they were both students at Northwestern University back in the '80s, when Louis-Dreyfus auditioned for a performance Hall was producing with his comedy troupe, the Practical Theatre Company. She would go on to join and perform with the Company before four of its members — herself and Hall included — would be recruited by Saturday Night Live. The couple got married on June 25, 1987, in a church in Santa Barbara, California. Thirty-five years into their nuptials, Louis-Dreyfus revealed to Kelly Ripa that she "fashioned" her timeless wedding dress after Princess Diana's. Louis-Dreyfus and her husband stepped out for a stylish night at the Academy Theater in Beverly Hills back in 1994. In February 1997, Louis-Dreyfus proudly showed of her baby bump as the happy couple walked the Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet together. They would later welcome their second son, Charles "Charlie" Hall, in May that year. Their first son, Henry Hall, joined their family five years earlier in 1992. The couple looked exquisite in their finest black tie attire at the Angle House Cleaning 2000 Democratic Fundraiser Gala at the Beverly Hilton. Louis-Dreyfus was all smiles in her man's arms as they attended the 12th Annual Environmental Media Awards in 2002. "31,000 years ago today, I married my current boyfriend," Louis-Dreyfus wrote under this sweet throwback posted in 2018. No relationship works without a little adventure and exploration. It appears the couple went scuba diving in this throwback Louis-Dreyfus shared for their 33rd anniversary. Hall, along with sons Henry and Charlie, smiled with pride as Louis-Dreyfus was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010. With nearly 40 years under their belt, of course, Hall has been there for all of his wife's biggest milestones. The SNL alumni posed together during the 58th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, where Louis-Dreyfus won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in The New Adventures of Old Christine. And when she walked away a double winner in 2015, Hall was right by her side, beaming from ear to ear. Louis-Dreyfus was awarded a trophy as producer for Outstanding Comedy Series and then for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Brad Hall joined his parents at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards held at Nokia in 2012. The entire family stepped out to support their queen at the 71st Emmy Awards in 2019, where she was up for two trophies for her work on Veep. The Seinfeld actress had the full support of her boys at the special screening for her film Tuesday last June. Nearly four decades of marriage later, the two graced the red carpet for the SNL50: The Anniversary Special at 30 Rock earlier this year in New York. The lovebirds looked blissful in this selfie taken in the ocean. "34 years in, keeping our head above water. Love and love to the love of my life," she wrote. Read the original article on People
