Kid Cudi Drops New Song ‘Grave' From Upcoming Album ‘Free'
Kid Cudi had lots of good news to share Friday as he announced both that a new album is on the way and he recently married his longtime girlfriend. The rapper also shared the video for his new song 'Grave,' the second single off the just-announced Free, out August 22. 'Grave' follows Free's first single 'Neverland,' which arrived in May and was later accompanied by a short film directed by Ti West that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Free is available to preorder now ahead of its August arrival. ''Neverland' marks the beginning of an exciting new era for me,' Kid Cudi previously said in a statement. 'I'm really proud of this new sound, and I can't wait for fans—old and new—to experience what's coming. With the album and the short film premiering at Tribeca, this is just the start of something much bigger.' That 'exciting new era' also included the news Friday that Kid Cudi married girlfriend Lola Abecassis Sartore at a lavish South of France wedding, as the couple revealed to Vogue. 'It happened, and I couldnt be happier. To my wife Lola Mescudi, I love you endlessly,' Cudi added on Twitter. 'Thank u to everyone that had kind things to say and love to show. Congratulations are in order for Kid Cudi and Lola Abecassis Sartore, who announced Friday (July 11) that they are now a married couple. Revealing that they tied the knot during a romantic ceremony in the South of France on June 28, the rapper born Scott Mescudi shared photos on Instagram and wrote, 'Man, I've been waiting for this moment my whole life.' The musician first met the former Louis Vuitton designer — who now serves as head designer at ERL — at a Virgil Abloh fashion show in 2018. After years of dating, Cudi proposed in 2023. According to Vogue, the couple's ceremony took place at Cap Estel in Èze, near where Sartore grew up. The bride wore a gown designed by her close friend, Alain Paul, who also served as her 'bridesman' in the wedding. 'It was bliss,' Sartore told the publication of the big day. 'A moment out of time where the world stopped, and it was just the two of us. We forgot everything around us. It was just us and our love, and it was the purest moment.' Cudi's big life update comes just weeks after he made headlines for a much less cheerful reason: Sean 'Diddy' Combs' trial, at which the Trap star testified. While on the stand, he alleged that the disgraced Bad Boy Records founder broke into his Los Angeles home and vandalized his car out of anger over Cudi's past relationship with Cassie Ventura. Combs was ultimately found not guilty of sex-trafficking and racketeering charges, though he will face prison time for a prostitution charge. The mogul has long denied all of the accusations levied against him during the trial. In happier news, Cudi is also gearing up to release his next album, Free, on Aug. 22. So far, he's released two singles from the project: 'Grave' and 'Neverland.' After all, the Indicud rapper tied the knot with his fiancée, menswear designer Lola Abecassis Sartore, during a stunning ceremony in the South of France on June 28. And now, he's reflecting on the romantic event. 'We're on cloud nine in our little bubble of love,' Kid Cudi, 41, told Vogue in an interview published July 11. 'It's so overwhelming to receive so much love in such a short amount of time. You want this feeling to never end. It was really the most perfect, flawless, peaceful day, and we want to do it all over again. Looking back, I wouldn't change a thing.' Indeed, the wedding had a special nod to their private romance. Lola and Kid Cudi (real name is Scott Mescudi) exchanged their vows in Cap Estel, a gorgeous venue that's located near her hometown in Èze, France. Kid Cudi and Lola Abecassis Sartore have tied the knot. The couple – who got engaged in 2023 – wed at the Cap Estel in Èze in the South of France, near Lola's hometown, on June 28. Lola told 'It was intense - but so fun and enjoyable to get to turn our vision into our dream weekend. The team were so supportive of our vision, and they made the process so easy and enjoyable. Wedding planning can get very stressful, but they made sure to turn all our dreams into reality. From choosing the location to building a bounce castle as an homage to our dear friend Virgil Abloh, they made it all so easy. 'A beautiful location, the people we love the most, and simple decor to highlight all of that. The red thread throughout the process was timelessness. 'It was bliss. A moment out of time where the world stopped, and it was just the two of us. We forgot everything around us. It was just us and our love, and it was the purest moment.' Kudi – whose real name is Scott Mescudi – and Lola decided to have an homage to late fashion designer Abloh on their big day as they originally met at Abloh's first show for Louis Vuitton in 2018. Lola said: 'I was working behind the scenes, and Scott was walking the runway. Our eyes met in the chaos, and there was a silent spark. After the show, Scott walked straight up and asked for my number.' And, the pair are currently enjoying the early stages of newlywed bliss. Lola said: 'Everyone [we know who had] already gotten married told us it would go fast. We didn't know it would go this quickly [though]. We're on cloud nine in our little bubble of love. It's so overwhelming to receive so much love in such a short amount of time. You want this feeling to never end.
