Bulls rumors: Insider reveals Chicago's ‘competitive' trade desires

The post Bulls rumors: Insider reveals Chicago's 'competitive' trade desires appeared first on ClutchPoints. Like the last few offseasons, the Chicago Bulls are expected to be a popular team when it comes to trades during the next few months. The Bulls finished another disappointing season back in April, which didn't leave the door open for a top draft pick. So, the team will likely try to revamp its roster with trades this offseason. Nikola Vucevic, Coby White and Lonzo Ball are all key players from last year's team that could be involved. Advertisement Because of his contract, Lonzo Ball is a popular trade candidate for the Bulls. He has been at the forefront of trade rumors in the past, but he reached a deal with the team ahead of the trade deadline back in February. It was a two-year, $20 million deal, but only the first year is guaranteed. 'As soon as he signed that contract, he was up for trade, because that contract is so trade-friendly,' Bulls insider Joe Cowley said on Wednesday. 'It's basically a one year, $10 million deal. The team has the option for the next 10 million for year number two.' Ball isn't the only trade candidate as everyone expects Nikola Vucevic to be traded this offseason. Because of the Bulls' desire to remain competitive (which has resulted in three straight play-in tournament exits), they are stuck in an awkward middleground that has shown no signs of ending. 'It's not only Lonzo up for trade, Vooch (Nikola Vucevic) is up for trade,' Cowley continued. 'I mean, the Bulls are trying to change this roster over, and again, talk about walking a fine line and a tight rope, they're trying to do so while still trying to be competitive for some ungodly reason. That's the path that they continue to choose. So enjoy late lottery picks every year.' Advertisement Lonzo Ball and Nikola Vucevic are two key players that might get traded this offseason, but Josh Giddey is someone that the Bulls are liklely going to re-sign. 'I think we all wrote when Lonzo signed that deal on the, I believe, was the night of the trade deadline in Minnesota, we all wrote that, basically, this deal was signed to be a trade candidate,' Cowley said. 'I mean, Lonzo spun it as he wanted to stay here. He wanted to stay close to Dr. Cole. But look, everything is on the table for the Bulls this off season. Vooch, Lonzo, a package of those two, whatever they can do to try and add to this mix that they're trying to build on the run, as well as resigning Josh Giddey, that's going to be coming shortly too.' As you can see, the Bulls have big decisions to make surrounding a lot of their top players. This is another crucial offseason for the team, and it has to be a good one as the fan base grew tired of the on-court product a long time ago. Lonzo Ball Drops Heavy Prediction for LaMelo Ball and Dylan Harper

In the modern media age, it's never been more apparent that not all professional athletes have a grip on the nuances of their sport, even if they are still playing. It's only reaffirmed the lazy narrative that people don't need lived experience to master a topic. Imagine calling archeologists frauds because they never interacted with a dinosaur? The rise of "player podcasts" has furthered hot take culture, with preposterous former stories or eccentric analysis of current events. Bulls guard Lonzo Ball is one of many who utilize this medium and offered a bizarre and specific prediction involving his brother and a projected high-lottery pick. Advertisement On the latest episode of "The WAE Show," Lonzo pitched a set of circumstances that would dramatically shake up the NBA landscape. Lamelo & Lonzo BallGetty Images "I've lowkey got Dylan Harper going to the Hornets, and I've got Melo going to the Clips." Lonzo suggested Harper would slide to four in this scenario but did not elaborate on this projection. Everything about this idea seems far-fetched, but could Lonzo know something about his brother's future? The confusion starts with how Charlotte could even possibly land Harper, who is the second-best prospect in the class. Unless Harper magically slides, the Hornets likely don't have a package to present to San Antonio to move up to take the Rutgers product. Advertisement The other half of Lonzo's statement should raise some eyebrows. Although the 27-year-old might not have the best grip on draft dynamics, he surely knows what's going on in LaMelo's life. The Ball family is from the greater Los Angeles area, and James Harden has a chance to hit free agency this summer. The Clippers could want LaMelo to be their point guard of the future or somehow play the pair of dazzling offensive engines in the same backcourt. James Harden & LaMelo Ball Lonzo's comments could be hinting at a rift with LaMelo and the Hornets and could spark more rumors about a potential move this off-season. NBA dad LaVar Ball reveals what led to leg amputation: 'It could all have been prevented'

LaVar Ball, the charismatic father of NBA guards Lonzo and LaMelo Ball, as well as budding star rapper LiAngelo Ball, recently opened up about what caused the need for a large portion of his right leg to be amputated. The eldest Ball said complications with his diabetes ultimately led to the procedure being performed on his right foot, and then doctors informed him that more surgery was needed to remove more of his right leg. Ball told SLAM that he got an infection in his right foot, and it "started spreading through my blood due to not paying attention to my diabetes." At first, Ball said that doctors were trying to avoid amputation, but after their previous remedies didn't work, they had no other option. "They cut off my foot," Ball told the magazine. "Then, they said, 'We gotta go almost knee-high for another surgery.'" Ball needed three different surgeries to alleviate the problem, and four blood transfusions were necessary as well. As one might expect with such a serious surgery, and the rest-of-life impact of it, Ball's mindset was bleak. "It made me think, 'Man, just kill me and let me go about my business,'" he admitted. "It made me think that maybe it's time for me to shut it down." Ball said that his sons played a large factor in fighting through this tough health moment, and it seems to have worked. Ball's joking personality started to show on social media, as he was posting TikTok's saying he had the ability to grow his foot back. But this moment in Ball's life has led to an unfortunate lesson. "Get your checkups," Ball encouraged those reading. "Do what you're supposed to do. If you don't have insurance, go to urgent care. Because I'm going to tell you this, a little amputation and a little of this, it could all have been prevented." Ball's celebrity over the years hasn't come without controversy, starting when his eldest son, Lonzo, burst onto the scene as a high NBA Draft prospect at UCLA. He eventually went No. 2 overall in the draft. During that time, Ball said that he would beat Michael Jordan 1-on-1, while also making WWE appearances. But his undeniable confidence in his son's success ultimately came true, as all three of his sons ended up in the league in some capacity. But LaMelo, the youngest of the three, is undoubtedly the best player as he headlines the Charlotte Hornets in his fifth NBA season. LiAngelo recently saw a smash hit with his rap song "Tweaker," which legendary artist Lil Wayne recently remixed. He performed that and more at Rolling Loud music festival in Los Angeles this past weekend. Follow Fox News Digital's sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
