Ed Sheeran Expands 2026 Australia and New Zealand Tour
Ed Sheeran is bringing his Loop Tour to Australia and New Zealand in early 2026 — and due to overwhelming demand, he's now added additional shows in Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland. The stadium tour kicks off Jan. 16 at Auckland's Go Media Stadium and will continue through New Zealand before heading to Australia for shows in every major capital city. The newly announced concerts include a second date at Perth's Optus Stadium, plus third shows in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, bringing the total number of dates to 15 across both countries. The Loop Tour will support Sheeran's next studio album, Play, set to be released Sept. 12 via Warner Music. Described as 'an explorative, technicolour pop album that captures the fun, chaos, and heart of an artist reinvigorated by life and travel,' the project includes singles 'Azizam,' 'Sapphire,' and 'Old Phone.' The album marks Sheeran's first major release since Autumn Variations in 2023. Already one of the most successful touring acts in Australian history, Sheeran has sold more than 2.5 million tickets across Australia and New Zealand to date. His 2023 +–=÷× (Mathematics) Tour broke records across multiple cities, including the highest single-day ticket sales in Sydney history. The new dates once again see Sheeran performing in massive stadium venues, including Sydney's Accor Stadium, Melbourne's Marvel Stadium, Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium, and Adelaide Oval. Ed Sheeran to bring his Loop Tour to Australia, New Zealand
Ed Sheeran recently announced his new Loop tour, which will start in January 2026. The singer is now bringing his Loop Tour to Australia and New Zealand. Due to overwhelming demand, he has added additional shows in Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Auckland, reported Billboard. The stadium tour will start on January 16 at Auckland's Go Media Stadium and will continue through New Zealand before heading to Australia for shows in every major capital city. Tickets for all dates will go on sale on Tuesday, July 29, at staggered times. The Loop Tour will support Sheeran's next studio album, Play, set to be released September 12 via Warner Music. Sharing details about the tour, Ed, in an Instagram post earlier, he wrote, "Starting a brand new tour next year called the LOOP tour. New stage, new tricks, new set up, new songs and all the classics added in. Meanwhile, Ed is basking in the success of his latest song, Sapphire, which he made in collaboration with Arijit Singh. Sharing what went on behind the track, Sheeran, in an Instagram post, wrote, " Sapphire was the first song I finished for Play that made me know where the album was heading. It's why I finished the recording process in Goa surrounded by some of the best musicians in India. It was an incredible creative process. I shot the music video with @liampethickphoto and @nicminns across my India tour earlier this year, we wanted to showcase the beauty and breadth of the country and its culture."

Ed Sheeran announces second Auckland stadium show
English pop superstar Ed Sheeran has added a new Auckland show next year amid overwhelming demand by his fans. The Shape of You hitmaker will play a second show at Go Media Stadium on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Sheeran announced last week he would kick off the Australasia leg of his Loop Tour with shows in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch next January. He would be playing Go Media Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland on January 16 and 17, at Sky Stadium in Wellington on January 21, and Apollo Projects Stadium in Christchurch on January 24. The Christchurch show would be his first in the city in 11 years. He last visited New Zealand in 2023. ADVERTISEMENT General public tickets for all New Zealand shows would be on sale at the Frontier Touring website on Tuesday, July 29.
