Investigators said the driver, identified as 38-year-old Terrence Jackson, had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest. According to Elyria police, Jackson initially pulled over before speeding off moments later, leading to a pursuit. Emergency crews quickly responded to the scene and three people were taken to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators said Jackson was thrown from the Jeep into the roadway. He was taken into custody and brought to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers at the scene found and confiscated a handgun, which detectives linked to at least one recent drive-by shooting in the area. The Jeep was impounded. Home reportedly owned by Brad Pitt was ransacked by burglars: Police After being released from the hospital, Jackson was booked into the Lorain County jail. He's charged with failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, having weapons while under disability, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and driving under suspension. Additional charges are expected. According to Elyria police, Jackson has a history of violent crimes, including two robbery convictions and multiple drug trafficking convictions. 'Our thoughts are with the motorists injured in this dangerous incident, and we wish them a full and speedy recovery,' Elyria Police Chief James Welsh said in a statement. 'The reckless actions of Mr. Jackson, a fleeing felon armed with a handgun and wanted in connection with multiple shootings, put countless innocent lives at risk and led to injuries among members of our community as well as Jackson himself. His blatant disregard for public safety is both unacceptable and deeply troubling. I commend our officers for their swift response and bringing this dangerous fugitive to justice.'
