Wizards Beyond Waverly Place 2: Selena Gomez returns as Alex Russo in reboot
Actor-singer Selena Gomez has confirmed her return to 'Wizards Beyond Waverly Place' in Season 2. She played Alex Russo in the original series, 'Wizards of Waverly Place'. The Disney original aired from 2007 to made two guest appearances in the first season of the reboot. Before the official announcement, Gomez shared an Instagram story where she can be seen resting her head on co-star David Henrie's shoulder. In another photo, she holds Alex's famous red official announcement was made on David Henrie and Disney Wizards Series' official Instagram account. 'WE'RE SO BACK. Season 2 is gonna be. If you had big questions about season 1, then strap in y'all (sic)," they captioned the post. It is assumed that she will help connect the original story with the new generation of the Russo family. Apart from acting, she is also working as an executive producer, along with per the official synopsis, 'The series follows an adult Justin Russo, who has chosen to lead a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman and Milo. The Only Murders in the Building star's younger sibling, Gracie Teefey, turned 12 on Thursday (12.06.25) and though the 32-year-old star loves spending time with the youngster, Selena admitted the tween is far more interested in her good friend. Selena shared a video on her Instagram Story, in which she sat on a bed while Gracie was by a TV, and when the youngster hit the remote, Taylor's video for The Man began to play. Gracie told her sister: 'There, now we can watch the video too." Selena captioned the clip: 'When she loves auntie Taylor more than me.' The Lose You To Love Me singer also shared a carousel of photos of herself and Gracie over the years and she couldn't help but shed a tear over their bond. She wrote: 'Happy birthday to my baby sissy. As I cry writing this, my heart melts because I know you know I'm always on your side. No matter what. I love you baby girl [heart emojis] (sic)" Selena and Taylor, 35, first met in 2008 when dating Nick and Joe Honas respectively, and they very quickly became friends. Taylor previously told The Wall Street Journal in 2020: 'I knew from when I met [Selena] I would always have her back. 'In my life, I have the ability to forgive people who have hurt me. But I don't know if I can forgive someone who hurts her.' And Selena, 32, told how they "clicked instantly" She said: 'That was my girl. We both went through s*** at the same time. She taught me a lot about how I should be treated at a young age.' Selena previously praised Taylor as "one of the greatest songwriters" when she ran through some of the songs on her 'At Home with Selena Gomez' playlist, which included her friend's hit track Lover. Of the song, she said: "There's nothing really to say other than this is another song that shows her ability to take it back to the old, to also combine it with her challenging to do new things with her music. I think that's as pure as that - I'll always, not even biased, just think she is one of the greatest songwriters."

What makes the ring so special for Gomez is that she has "always dreamed" of a marquise ring, per a February 2025 conversation with Interview magazine, ever since she sang, "I'm a marquise diamond," in her 2015 hit Good For You. Gomez likely attended the MetLife Stadium concert in East Rutherford, which was one of Beyoncé's stops as part of her ongoing Cowboy Carter tour. "To the queen B we praise," she captioned her post. Image: X/Pop Base In a recent interview, Benny Blanco revealed that during their dating phase, Selena Gomez would come 30 minutes earlier than the agreed-upon date time and wait in her car. Gomez and Blanco appeared on the 'Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware' podcast, where Blanco shared that his fiancée is obsessed with being on time, and he would see her waiting on his cameras. 'Selena is so insane that when we first started going out on dates, she was so obsessed with being on time, she used to pull up to my house minimum 20/30 minutes early and she would wait outside. 'But she didn't realise that my cameras could see down the street, and her car would be parked outside for like 30 minutes. And she would wait until it was time to come in,' the 37-year-old music producer said. Gomez denied Blanco's claims and said that she used to do that solely because she was nervous and have the chance to call a friend in case she needed makeup touch ups. Blanco also revealed that the 'Lose You To Love Me' hitmaker got a rash after their first kiss. According to Blanco, they were on their second date and playing a get-to-know-you game, which prompted them to take a selfie. 'She got right on my chest and took a selfie, and then right after, I just looked at her and I said 'I gotta kiss this girl. 'Her heart started beating quickly, she started getting a rash on her face, and she was so nervous,' he shared. However, Gomez said that the rash was simply because she hadn't liked anyone in a long time. She added: 'When you feel something behind the kiss, it's completely different. I had been alone for five years, with the exception of a few s***ty dates here and there, but never felt that way.' The couple started dating in 2023 and got engaged later in 2024. Since then, they have been showing love for each other on social media and have made multiple public appearances together. The love birds have also worked together on Gomez's new album titled 'I Said I Love You First' which they have been promoting on their social media accounts for weeks now.
