Irish Lotto player just misses out on €13m jackpot - but still lands huge prize
A Lotto player came agonisingly close to winning Wednesday's jackpot worth a life-changing €13.1 million - but they still managed to bag themselves a hefty sum. Lotto players across Ireland are being urged to check their tickets after more than 54,000 people won prizes in tonight's draws. Despite thousands bagging themselves prizes, the Lotto jackpot, worth a whopping €13,185,721, went unclaimed, although one player was just one number short of claiming the full pot. While they may have missed out on the huge cash windfall, the ticketholder still walked away with a still-very-nice €47,002 after bagging the Match 5 + Bonus prize. The numbers called in Wednesday's (July 30) main Lotto draw were: 04, 24, 26, 31, 39, 40 and the Bonus numbers was 44. Meanwhile, in Wednesday's Lotto Plus 1 draw, where there was a top prize worth €1 million up for grabs, the numbers to look out for are: 06, 18, 22, 26, 35, 37 and the Bonus number is 23. Similar to tonight's main Lotto draw, one player came close to becoming Ireland's newest millionaire after they missed out on the €1 million jackpot by just one matching number. However, the punter still has reason to celebrate as they scooped the Match 5 + Bonus prize worth a cool €5,000. And in Wednesday's Lotto Plus 2 draw, the numbers called were: 03, 05, 13, 28, 32, 34 and the Bonus numbers is 17. The €250,000 jackpot up for grabs in this draw went unclaimed, although 21 players did match five correct numbers to win €250 each. There were also 78 winners of the Raffle Prize, with each player receiving €500. The winning Raffle Number is 8055. Players across Ireland are now being urged to check their tickets to see if they are among the more than 54,000 people here who won prizes in Wednesday night's Lotto and Lotto Plus games. A Galway Lotto player had an unorthodox way of hiding their winning ticket worth €250,000. There were three winners in the county of the tribes over the course of a week scooping impressive sums, with one of those wins being a tasty €250k purchased in a Circle K store on the Newcastle Road during the July 16th Lotto Plus draw. Heading to Lotto HQ with their ticket in tow, the player said that the safest place to put their new windfall was in a ziplock sandwich bag. Lotto bosses confirm location of six-figure prize win as appeal issued
Lotto bosses have revealed the county a winning six-figure ticket was sold in following Saturday night's draw. The lucky Wicklow player secured €107,032 after matching five numbers and the bonus in Saturday night's main Lotto draw. The winning Normal Play ticket was purchased on the day of the draw from Applegreen Arklow, Wexford Road, Arklow, Co. Wicklow. The winning numbers in the draw were: 12, 19, 24, 32, 35, 36 and the bonus was 22. While there was no winner of the Lotto jackpot worth €12,781,699, in total, over 101,000 players won prizes in the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws, including the aforementioned player from Wicklow. Darragh O'Dwyer, National Lottery spokesperson, said: 'What a fantastic night for one player in Wicklow who has claimed a life-changing €107,032 after matching five numbers and the bonus in Saturday night's main Lotto draw.
