Date-night dressing: Taylor Swift makes an effort – and so can we

This story is part of the June 21 edition of Good Weekend. See all 8 stories. It's date night: what do I wear? Finding love can be difficult but, as Elizabeth Taylor (eight marriages), Pamela Anderson (five) and Billy Bob Thornton (six) discovered, keeping it can be more challenging than making it to the end of The Brutalist. For many couples, regular date nights help keep the romantic spark alive, fan the flames of passion and supercharge any other fire metaphor that doesn't involve charred logs. It's been almost two years since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce started holding hands and their regular date nights show that they're still having fun (while keeping the paparazzi entertained). They're making an effort, even when it's just an outing à deux to a restaurant. While other couples get comfortable in their old trackies, worn undergarments and untouched roots, Swift and Kelce look as if they're still on their first date: there are shoes that require transport straight to the door (strictly no strolling), vertiginous hemlines that demand the strategic placement of a napkin at dinner and attention-grabbing jewellery. Adding a little evening sparkle – see Tay Tay's embellished Simkhai coat – and some subtle colour coordination to your date-night outfits shows respect for your partnership. It reminds your loved one of their initial attraction to you and proves to you that you can still flirt with fashion. For Kelce, that means punching above the average, male date-outfit of blue shirt, old jeans and boots with a sizzling, waxed-denim combo by Nahmias that finds echoes in his partner's red lipstick, nails and Louboutin platforms. For now, it looks as if the couple that dates and dresses together stays together – at least until it's time for another break-up album.

Chelsea star Noni Madueke rocks daring look in GQ photoshoot - as winger reveals which Blues team-mate has the best fashion sense

Chelsea and England star Noni Madueke has dazzled in a new photoshoot with men's fashion magazine GQ. Madueke, 23, has been an integral member of Enzo Maresca 's Chelsea side in 2024-25, with the winger's form earning him six caps for the Three Lions in the process. However, off the pitch, Madueke has also become known for his fashion sense and boldness to try eye-popping outfits. And, in the shoot with GQ, Madueke showed off some of his looks as he was pictured in three particularly groovy outfits. In one, the 23-year-old wore a fur vest and gloves combo from Mains, alongside grey Alis joggers. But it was another look that stole the show in the form of his Balenciaga triple threat. Within the style, Madueke was seen wearing an oversized leather jacket, alongside baggy blue jeans and black sunglasses. To add to the look, Madueke was sporting a pair of black Louboutins for footwear. Another photo also shared saw Madueke in a white 'Billionaire Girls Club' t-shirt alongside Zebra-print shorts. Speaking more about his style to GQ, Madueke explained how he comes up with his looks. 'Everyone goes through that phase where they just want brands,' he said. 'Really loud pieces. 'I don't disregard brands, of course, I like certain things. But now it's more like how it fits, how everything fits together. Now I have more understated pieces.' Madueke also went onto admit that his outlook on fashion can often change and revealed he makes extra effort to ensure he is always up with the times. 'I'd probably say in the next three months, we'll have a new U-turn,' he added. 'I can wake up one day and just be like: "All right [clicks his fingers]", the next six months, I want to look like this.' The winger also opened up on which team-mate had the best fashion sense, while he also provided further insight on how trendy Blues star Cole Palmer is. 'Jadon [Sancho] has some pieces stuffed in his wardrobe that if he brought them out, you'd be like, "Oh my God, Why don't you wear this stuff, man?", Madueke said. 'Jadon will have all the best pieces, 100 per cent. 'He's (Palmer) got a little bit… Cole's got a little bit of something going on.'

Why Kelsea Ballerini Is Pressing Pause to ‘Sit in the Moment'

The country star spent the weekend performing at CMA Fest and reflected on choosing to step away from the spotlight during an intimate Q&A for SoFi Plus members. More from Rolling Stone Kelsea Ballerini Surprises With Noah Kahan During Headlining CMA Fest Set Carin Leon Covers Chris Stapleton, Journey During Surprise Spotify House Set Bailey Zimmerman Announces Album 'Different Night Same Rodeo' 'The next right thing for me is to just be… be quiet for a bit,' she told SoFi CMO Lauren Stafford-Webb over the weekend. 'I think I'm in this season of rest, where I start to find what actually excites me creatively and what I want to do. I've been in a sprint, and it's been beautiful… but I'm going to [waves goodbye] for a while and see what happens.' Ballerini recently linked up with SoFi to help empower the next generation of Tenneseans by investing $2 million in financial education and grants to support over 60,000 high school students in her home state. The initiative, titled the Rising Stars Program, grants between $5 and $1000 in stock to students in the state of Tennessee between [ages] 18 and 24. 'It's so important to invest in your education or invest in your hobbies, and invest in your dreams, it's also important to invest in yourself and in your future,' she told the intimate group before an acoustic, a cappella performance of 'Baggage,' following her Nissan Stadium soundcheck. She also caught up with Rolling Stone about taking a break, her first pair of Louboutin shoes, and why she's talking about finances. Why was it important for you to collaborate with SoFi on this Rising Stars program? I love being able to talk about things that sometimes feel taboo to talk about for whatever reason. For me, understanding investment and even finances was something that was just not really talked about growing up. I think it's really important for the younger generation to invest in themselves in every way that they can. The first step of that is just knowledge and understanding that it's really important. The earlier you can, the better for you and your future. And then obviously, partnering with Tennessee Achieves, whether you get $5 or $1000, it will pay dividends in the long run. It's just an amazing incentive to get our youth to be educated and do something good for themselves. What was the first thing you invested in? It took me a minute! I was really scared because I didn't understand it. I don't share my investment portfolio, but I know the first thing that I invested in for myself was a pair of Louboutin shoes. And I'll never forget it. I told myself that if I won a CMA one year that I would buy myself my first pair of red bottoms, and I lost that CMA. The next day, hungover, I went to the Green Hills Mall and I bought my first pair. They could have been my winner shoes, and instead, they're my loser shoes, and I wear them all the time. I won in the shoe department! As an artist, I'm wondering what advice you have for young artists in getting into the industry. Ask a lot of questions, and ask questions to the right people. In that same breath, I think trusting yourself and your compass and your gut, whether that comes to artistic decisions for yourself, but also think in financial decisions. Even just navigating your personal and work life balance… That's like the most important thing you can do. When you're a new artist, especially if you're young, you kind of have this ability to put blinders on and just get into the work. And I would say, don't leave your real life behind. You said you're t for a second and take a break. Why so? It's been a really busy last few years, and especially doing The Voice and coming off my first arena tour. I don't want to keep going in a sprint and not take a breath after that and enjoy what that was, because I never knew if I'd get to do with either of those things, and the fact that we did them, and they were so wonderful, like, I just want to sit in that for a minute. And I also have no idea musically what I'm doing next, and I'm not gonna know that until I just park it for a second. I can't make a shitty album. I need to take a breath and cook a meal and, like, learn to play tennis or something, and then pick up a guitar. Are there any artists that you're really enjoying right now? I think Carter Faith is such a badass. She has a song called 'Grudge' that I'm obsessed with, and she just has this beautiful, angelic tone to her voice. But then her lyrics are so witty and sharp, and I just think she has such a really identifiable artistry. She's really cool. You had Aly & AJ out at your LA show! During that sound check, when they came up on that lift, I had to just be out of my body, I was so excited, because before I'm an artist, I'm a fan. That Disney Channel era was my childhood. That was right when I started falling in love with music. Just to have two incredible like artists and women and now friends show up for that was a big deal. And we sang 'Potential Breakup Song.' Justin Baldoni Sends A Strong Message To Blake Lively After Tossed $400M Lawsuit

Justin Baldoni may have lost the battle, but his war against Blake Lively and her sexual harassment allegations is far from over! The "Jane the Virgin" star recently suffered a significant loss after a judge dismissed his $400 million defamation lawsuit. He filed smear campaign allegations against his former co-star, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and the New York Times a month after he was accused of harassing the actress. The drama between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively stemmed from their time in the movie "It Ends With Us." The actress accused the project's co-star and director of sexual harassment and efforts to ruin her image in December 2024; however, he has denied the allegations and painted her as the problem. Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, addressed the dismissal of the $400 million defamation lawsuit in a statement released on Tuesday, June 10. He claimed that Lively and her team were celebrating far too early because the war was not over, even if they achieved a small victory. Baldoni's attorney explained: "Ms. Lively and her team's predictable declaration of victory is false, so let us be clear about the latest ruling. While the Court dismissed the defamation-related claims, the Court has invited us to amend four out of the seven claims against Ms. Lively, which will showcase additional evidence and refined allegations." The legal rep assured TMZ they were not disheartened by the judge's decision to toss the defamation lawsuit out of Court. Instead, Baldoni and his lawyer saw the outcome as an opportunity to prove Lively dropped false accusations of sexual harassment and claims of a nonexistent smear campaign to ruin the actor's image. Hours before Baldoni's legal rep declared their intention to keep fighting against Lively, The Blast shared that the actress was all smiles on Monday night. She made her first public appearance after the defamation lawsuit was tossed at the Chanel Tribeca Festival Artists Dinner in New York City. Lively stunned on the red carpet like a woman with a massive weight off her shoulders, posing confidently for the cameras in a white crochet dress. She complemented the outfit with Louboutin heels and Chanel accessories, posing confidently for photographers while her hair flowed down her shoulders in graceful waves. A source claimed the outing came after Lively was overcome with emotions following the judge's ruling in her favor. "Complete elation from Blake's world and a monkey off her back. Blake is breathing a sigh of relief right now, and all tears are happy tears," the insider said, adding she "cried with relief" after the verdict. While Lively allegedly "cried with relief," her attorneys proudly celebrated Baldoni's lawsuit dismissal. They reacted to the ruling in a statement, describing the judge's decision as a "total victory" for the actress while slamming her defamation accusers for their "sham" allegations. Lively's reps claimed the court "saw right through" Baldoni's alleged lies, and they were ready to keep proving he wasn't as innocent as he claimed to be. "We look forward to the next round, which is seeking attorneys' fees, treble damages, and punitive damages against Baldoni, Sarowitz, Nathan, and the other Wayfarer Parties who perpetrated this abusive litigation," they stressed. The next round would reportedly begin sometime after June 23; the time limit the judge gave Baldoni and his team to file a second amended complaint. He was ordered to restrict any new allegation to claims of "tortious interference with contract and breach of implied covenant." Following the ruling in her favor, Lively broke her silence on Baldoni's defamation lawsuit dismissal on her Instagram Story. She shared an emotional statement on Monday, June 9, maintaining her innocence in the legal drama and painting herself as a victim. "Like so many others, I've felt the pain of a retaliatory lawsuit, including the manufactured shame that tries to break us. While the suit against me was defeated, so many don't have the resources to fight back," Lively wrote. She noted her drama with Baldoni only fueled her desire to fight for women without a voice. Lively continued by thanking everyone who stood by her, noting she knew many of them, while others were strangers who had sympathized with her situation. "I will never stop appreciating or advocating for you," she declared, per PEOPLE. She also added a list of relevant organizations like California Women's Law Center and Women's Justice NOW. A month before his defamation lawsuit was thrown out of Court, The Blast shared that Baldoni had suffered a loss in his legal battle against his former co-star. On May 15, Judge Lewis J. Liman granted Lively's motion to dismiss the allegations brought by Baldoni's attorney. The actor's legal rep had shared a letter from a source that claimed Lively's attorney, Michael Gottlieb, had threatened to release her text messages with Taylor Swift if the singer didn't support the actress. The judge argued that the letter was "improper" and "irrelevant" to the case. Judge Liman also stressed that the letter might incite "press uproar by suggesting that Lively and her counsel attempted to 'extort' a well-known celebrity." The legal umpire noted that he could not permit such documents in his Court and dismissed it. Will Justin Baldoni have better luck against Blake Lively when he files his amended lawsuit?
