2027 Four-Star Recruit Puts Florida in Top 12

2027 Four-Star Recruit Puts Florida in Top 12 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The University of Florida football program has long been recognized for its ability to produce top NFL talent at nearly every position group. In recent history, the tight end position has seen notable success, exemplified by Kyle Pitts being selected by the Atlanta Falcons with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft after an illustrious career with the Gators. Advertisement Florida is now looking for its next Pitts-esque recruit to lock down the tight end position for the future. Head coach Billy Napier and company hope they found it with Norwalk, Iowa's Luke Brewer. Brewer, who is a consensus four-star in the 2027 class, took to social media Thursday to announce he has narrowed down his recruitment to his top 12 teams, which includes Florida. "At this time my recruitment is still 100 percent open," Brewer said on X/Twitter. "But with that being said I have came out with this list based on feel, fit and the effort put in to making these talks with coaches! Not saying this is set in stone but as of right now let's roll." Norwalk High School tight end Luke BrewerEliot Clough The Norwalk High School product has turned heads due to his size and athletic ability. Standing at 6-foot-4.5 and weighing 228 pounds, Brewer has the makeup of an SEC tight end. He is ranked No. 4 among all recruits from the state of Iowa for the 2027 class and is the 17th-ranked tight end in the country in the 247Sports Composite rankings. However, the team Florida may have to watch out for the most on the recruiting trail is Iowa, which is known for its talent at the tight end position. The Hawkeyes, affectionately named "Tight End U," have had many greats at the position, including Dallas Clark, T.J. Hockenson and Noah Fant. While Iowa may have the upper hand in the recruiting battle for Brewer based on history and location, Napier and Florida will certainly make a run at the top tight end target. Notre Dame is one of two CFP participants that offered ‘27 4-star Iowa tight end Tuesday

Notre Dame is one of two CFP participants that offered '27 4-star Iowa tight end Tuesday It was a pretty big day for 2027 Iowa tight end Luke Brewer as he picked up an offer from Notre Dame. Oregon also offered, but the Irish are one of many teams that have gotten in early on the 6-foot, 5-inch and 228-pound star. Brewer is currently ranked as a 4-star prospect and the nation's No. 213 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Notre Dame has been hitting the 2027 cycle pretty hard with offers out to multiple prospects over the last week. While the class of 2026 is about half-full, it's not the only focus for the Irish. The fact that they are looking ahead is giving off an idea that they know exactly who they are looking for to fill out next year's group. The best teams always get a head start on future classes, and Notre Dame is showing they belong on the field, and on the recruiting trail.
