Lawyers for accused killer cop Beau Lamarre-Condon drop bombshell - as his mother makes a rare appearance

The mother of a former police officer accused of murdering two men with his service weapon has attended court as her son's case faces further delays. Beaumont Lamarre-Condon has been charged with two counts of murder over the deaths of flight attendant Luke Davies, 29, and TV presenter Jesse Baird, 26, in February 2024. Lamarre-Condon is accused of shooting the couple at Mr Baird's Paddington home in Sydney's east, before bundling their bodies in surfboard bags and dumping them at a rural property. They were found after Lamarre-Condon, 29, handed himself in. He has been remanded in custody, but more than a year later has not yet entered any pleas. Lamarre-Condon did not appear in Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday, when his legal team sought leave to withdraw from his case after 'an issue arose'. State-funded legal service Legal Aid has arranged for the brief of evidence - which runs in excess of 20 volumes - to be handed over to his new lawyer, Benjamin Archbold. Crown prosecutor Brendan Donnelly opposed any further delays in the case, citing the fact that the charges were certified against Lamarre-Condon in July 2024. Negotiations had been ongoing for 'many, many months' and the alleged murderer was given 'plenty of opportunity' to enter pleas, Mr Donnelly said. 'The Crown is ready for this matter to proceed to trial,' he said. 'Any further delay... is unreasonable.' Magistrate Christopher Halburd decided to err on the side of caution so Lamarre-Condon could have an opportunity to enter pleas after speaking with Mr Archbold. 'You don't get any more serious allegations than this,' he said. The magistrate adjourned the matter for six weeks to allow the parties to figure out 'what's actually happening'. The accused murderer's mother, Coleen Lamarre, watched on in the courtroom but remained silent as she left. The proceedings were also monitored via an audiovisual link by family of one of the men Lamarre-Condon is accused of murdering. It is the second time the former police officer has changed legal representation. His previous lawyer withdrew in November when Lamarre-Condon was expected to enter pleas. The decision caused months of delays in the double-murder case. Lamarre-Condon is facing two counts of domestic violence-related murder and two aggravated break and enter charges. NSW Police allege the attack was premeditated and followed a months-long campaign of 'predatory behaviour' targeting Mr Baird. Lamarre-Condon briefly dated the TV presenter before Mr Baird began a relationship with Mr Davies. Police allege the former senior constable used his service weapon to shoot the couple before attempting to dispose of their bodies. Lamarre-Condon was sacked by the NSW Police Force in March 2024. He had joined the force in 2019 and previously ran a celebrity blog, posing in photos with dozens of A-listers including Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Harry Styles. His matter will return to court in August.

Mother of alleged killer cop Beau Lamarre-Condon appears in court as her son's case hits fresh ‘issue'

The mother of ex-cop Beau Lamarre-Condon, who allegedly killed his ex-partner and the man's new boyfriend, appeared to support her son in court as his case hit a fresh snag following 'issues' among his legal team. Mr Lamarre-Condon, 29, has been charged with the murder of Channel 10 presenter Jesse Baird and Mr Baird's boyfriend, Qantas flight attendant Luke Davies. Mr Lamarre-Condon is accused of using his police firearm to kill the couple at a Paddington share house in Sydney's east last February. Police allege he then put their bodies in surfboard bags before taking them to a remote property near Goulburn in the NSW southern tablelands. He was arrested four days after their bodies were found and has since been charged with two counts of domestic violence-related murder and one count of breaking and entering. No pleas have been entered. His mother, Coleen Lamarre, on Tuesday morning attended the John Madison Tower Building, where her son's case was briefly mentioned. Lawyer Alexander Terracini, appearing on behalf of Mr Lamarre-Condon, told the court the alleged killer's legal team was again being changed after 'issues arose' on Monday. The change comes after the former police officer switched to a Legal Aid lawyer in November 2024. 'An issue has arisen which means we cannot continue in the matter,' Mr Terracini told the court. Mr Terracini and his team have withdrawn from the case, with Legal Aid already appointing Benjamin Archibald, who is set to be delivered the brief of evidence – described by magistrate Chris Halburd as 'fairly substantial' – as soon as possible. The defence pushed to adjourn the case given it was only handed over to Mr Archibald the day prior; however, Crown prosecutor Brendan Donnelly argued that further delays would be 'unreasonable' given the alleged murders took place more than 16 months ago. Mr Archibald said he'd done 'everything in my power to be able to advance the matter' while pushing for a six-week adjournment. 'I've never seen a clearer case for a matter to go over,' Mr Archibald said. Mr Halburd acknowledged the 'serious allegations' before granting the application in a bid to give Mr Lamarre-Condon the opportunity to enter pleas and potentially receive a discounted sentence. Mr Halburd said the matter had been before the court for 'a long time' when handing down his decision, and the Legal Aid Commission should be congratulated for finding a new representative in only a day. 'Yes, the matter has been before the court for a long time, something has occurred, it's appropriate that I don't know what that is,' Mr Halburd said. 'These are complex matters, they're always better progressed when people are represented, and certainly it's in the interest of justice that I grant this application.' The matter was adjourned until August for mention. Ms Lamarre declined to speak to the waiting media as she left court on Tuesday. Mr Archibald said he couldn't comment as he had 'just come into the matter'. 'I'm very appreciative the magistrate gave us the adjournment,' Mr Archibald said outside court. The court was in May told that a forensic psychiatric report on Mr Lamarre-Condon had been received. Mr Lamarre-Condon had been in a brief relationship with Mr Baird, with police alleging the former officer exhibited a pattern of 'predatory' behaviour in the lead-up to the alleged double-homicide. While police allege Mr Lamarre-Condon planned to kill Mr Baird, they believe Mr Davies' was a tragic, unplanned casualty. Mr Lamarre-Condon has been dismissed from the NSW Police Force.

EXCLUSIVE Disturbing new details of the fresh charges against alleged killer cop Beau Lamarre-Condon are revealed - after he was accused of gunning down his ex-boyfriend and his new lover

The case against an ex-cop charged with murdering a television presenter and his Qantas flight attendant partner has taken another dramatic turn. Police now claim that six months before Beau Lamarre-Condon allegedly shot dead Jesse Baird and Luke Davies, he broke into Mr Baird's home and stole his wallet and phone. Lamarre-Condon is accused of killing Mr Baird, 26, and Mr Davies, 29, at Mr Baird's Paddington terrace in Sydney 's eastern suburbs on February 19, 2024. He was originally charged with two counts of murder, later amended to indicate the offences were alleged to be related to domestic violence. Lamarre-Condon was subsequently charged with aggravated break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence at Mr Baird's home. That crime is alleged to have taken place sometime on August 17, 2023 - almost exactly six months before Mr Baird and Mr Davies were killed. Lamarre-Condon is accused of stalking Mr Baird during the alleged break-in, which is said to be aggravated because 'he knew that there was a person present within the said dwelling house'. On June 4, police laid a new second count of aggravated break and enter with intent to commit a serious indictable offence against the 30-year-old. Daily Mail Australia can reveal the charge relates to an accusation that, on the day of the same alleged break-in, Lamarre-Condon stole Mr Baird's wallet and phone. Police first became concerned about the welfare of Mr Baird and Mr Davies two days after they were allegedly murdered. Bloodied clothing and items belonging to the pair, including an $8,000 watch, credit card and wallet, had been found in a skip bin at Cronulla in Sydney's south. A significant amount of blood was found the same day in Mr Baird's home. Police allege Lamarre-Condon had bundled Mr Davies and Mr Baird's bodies into surfboard bags before dumping them at a farm about 180km south-west of Sydney. The couple's bodies were located eight days after Lamarre-Condon allegedly shot them dead with his Glock service pistol. Lamarre-Condon has spent almost 17 months in prison since the shootings, which were allegedly the result of a months-long campaign of 'predatory behaviour' targeting Mr Baird. The one-time celebrity chaser reportedly briefly dated Mr Baird before the TV presenter began a relationship with Mr Davies. Lamarre-Condon is due to face Downing Centre Local Court next Tuesday over the three existing and one new charge. Daily Mail Australia revealed last month that Lamarre-Condon had offered to provide information about a woman he claims helped dispose of the bodies. '[He] wants to do the right thing for the families and is happy to assist investigators with information about who else played a part in the incident,' a source claimed. 'So far both the DPP and the officer in charge have failed to reply to the offer made by Lamarre-Condon's legal team for assistance.' The source claimed a woman, who Lamarre-Condon knew through her partner, had told investigators she had waited at the fence line of the Bungonia property where the bodies were first deposited for 15 to 20 minutes. Phone records indicated Lamarre-Condon and the woman, previously described by police as 'an innocent agent', were at the farm for almost two hours, the source claimed. 'Police also found two sets of white overalls at the scene where bodies were located, which indicates it was a two-person job,' the source said. A NSW Police spokeswoman said: 'As this matter is before the court, we are unable to comment.' A spokeswoman for the DPP said the same thing. The case returned to Downing Centre Local Court in May after confidential discussions between prosecutors and the alleged killer's Legal Aid lawyer Alex Curnick. Both sides agreed 'things are progressing,' Magistrate Megan Greenwood was told. A forensic psychiatrist's report was also tendered after Lamarre-Condon was assessed in previous weeks. Before joining the force, Lamarre-Condon ran a celebrity blog, posing in photos with dozens of A-listers including Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Harry Styles. Mr Baird worked on TV programmes, Studio Ten and Totally Wild, while Mr Davies, his new boyfriend, was a respected Qantas flight attendant. Lamarre-Condon, who was sacked by the NSW Police Force in March 2024, has not entered pleas to any of the charges.

EXCLUSIVE Accused killer cop Beau Lamarre-Condon hit with fresh charge more than a year after he allegedly shot dead Jesse Baird and Luke Davies

The former policeman accused of murdering a television presenter and his Qantas flight attendant partner has been hit with a fresh criminal charge. Beau Lamarre-Condon allegedly shot dead Jesse Baird, 26, and Luke Davies, 29, at Paddington in Sydney 's eastern suburbs in February 2024. He was originally charged with two counts of murder, later amended to indicate they were alleged to be related to domestic violence. Lamarre-Condon was then charged with aggravated break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, listed as 'stalking Jesse Baird'. In relation to that offence, police allege Lamarre-Condon broke into Mr Baird's Paddington house in August 2023, six months before he and Mr Davies were killed. On June 4, police laid a new second charge of aggravated break and enter with intent to commit a serious indictable offence against the 29-year-old. Lamarre-Condon was due to face Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday in relation to the three existing and one new charge. Daily Mail Australia revealed earlier this month that Lamarre-Condon had offered to provide information about a woman he claims helped dispose of the bodies. 'So far both the DPP and the officer in charge have failed to reply to the offer made by Lamarre-Condon's legal team for assistance.' The onetime celebrity chaser reportedly briefly dated Mr Baird before the TV presenter began a relationship with Mr Davies. Suspicions of foul play were raised after possessions belonging to the dead men were found in a skip bin in the southern Sydney suburb of Cronulla, leading police to Mr Baird's blood-smeared terrace. The case returned to Downing Centre Local Court last month after confidential discussions between prosecutors and the alleged killer's Legal Aid lawyer Alex Curnick. Both sides agreed 'things are progressing,' magistrate Megan Greenwood was told. A forensic psychiatrist's report was also tendered after Lamarre-Condon was assessed in previous weeks. EXCLUSIVE Alleged killer cop Beau Lamarre-Condon reveals the biggest mystery over what happened to the two men he's accused of shooting dead - and the 'two person disposal job' in the aftermath

A woman accused of helping dispose of the bodies of two men allegedly shot dead by ex-NSW cop Beau Lamarre-Condon is a longtime friend he met through her partner, Daily Mail Australia can reveal. Lamarre-Condon has been charged with the murders of television presenter Jesse Baird, 26, and his Qantas flight attendant boyfriend Luke Davies, 29, at Paddington in Sydney 's eastern suburbs in February 2024. The 29-year-old has not entered pleas to two counts of murder but says he has offered to provide information about a second person he claims helped dump Mr Davies and Mr Baird's remains. A source close to Lamarre-Condon told Daily Mail Australia he had made the offer to police and the Director of Public Prosecutions but they had not responded to his approach. '[He] wants to do the right thing for the families and is happy to assist investigators with information about who else played a part in the incident,' the source claimed. 'So far both the DPP and the officer in charge have failed to reply to the offer made by [Lamarre-Condon's] legal team for assistance.' Lamarre-Condon is accused of bundling Mr Davies and Mr Baird's bodies into surfboard bags after he allegedly killed the couple and dumping them about 180km south-west of Sydney. The source said Lamarre-Condon disputed a witness's statement to investigators that she had waited at the fence line of a Bungonia property where the bodies were first dumped for 15 to 20 minutes. Phone records indicated Lamarre-Condon and the witness, previously described by police as 'an innocent agent', were at the farm for almost two hours, the source claimed. 'Police also located two sets of white overalls at the scene where bodies were located which indicates it was a two-person job,' the source said. A NSW Police spokeswoman said: 'As this matter is before the court, we are unable to comment.' A spokeswoman for the DPP said the same thing. The woman Lamarre-Condon claims helped dispose of the bodies lives in Sydney and got to know him through her partner, who had been a schoolmate. Police located Mr Davies and Mr Baird's remains on February 27 last year, eight days after Lamarre-Condon allegedly shot them dead with his Glock service pistol. A day before the bodies were found, Deputy Commissioner Dave Hudson revealed an alleged timeline of events leading up to and following the men's deaths. Mr Hudson said gunshots were heard coming from Mr Baird's home on the morning of February 19. Later that evening, Lamarre-Condon allegedly hired a Toyota HiAce van from Sydney Airport and on February 21 drove the vehicle to the Southern Tablelands with a female companion. The woman allegedly helped Lamarre-Condon buy an angle grinder and padlock from a hardware store then the pair drove to a property at Bungonia. Mr Hudson said the angle grinder was used to cut a padlock from a gate and that padlock was then replaced. 'The acquaintance was left at the top of the property for a period of 30 minutes,' he told reporters at a press conference. 'The accused disappeared for that period in the HiAce van, returning to pick up the acquaintance and then they returned to Sydney later that afternoon. Mr Hudson said Lamarre-Condon's companion was not involved in the alleged murders and was merely an 'innocent agent'. 'The acquaintance is not a suspect in this matter,' he said. 'We don't believe that she was fully aware of what had taken place.' Mr Hudson alleged Lamarre-Condon later returned to the Bungonia property carrying two torches provided by the woman, having bought weights from a department store about 11pm. Police allege Lamarre-Condon moved the bodies from their original location to another Bungonia property because he became concerned his female friend was suspicious of him. Lamarre-Condon allegedly left the property about 4.30am and drove to Newcastle where he asked a former policewoman if he could borrow a hose to clean the van. She is not accused of any wrongdoing and had spoken to police when her suspicions were raised. About 10.30am the next day, February 23, Lamarre-Condon walked into Bondi police station and was arrested. The bodies of Mr Davies and Mr Baird were found at the second Bungonia location on February 27 several hours after detectives spoke with Lamarre-Condon in the Metropolitan Remand and Reception Centre in Silverwater. Lamarre-Condon has spent more than a year in prison since the shootings, which were allegedly the result of a months-long campaign of 'predatory behaviour' targeting Mr Baird. The former celebrity chaser reportedly briefly dated Mr Baird before the Studio Ten and Totally Wild presenter began a relationship with Mr Davies. Lamarre-Condon, who was sacked from the police force in March last year, is also charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit an indictable offence. Before becoming a police officer, Lamarre-Condon ran a celebrity blog, posing in photos with dozens of celebrities including Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Harry Styles and Katy Perry. Lamarre-Condon is expected to appear via an audiovisual link when his case returns to court on June 17.
