N.S. man charged for allegedly trying to destroy occupied home with tractor
A Nova Scotia man is facing charges, including mischief causing danger to life, following an incident in Lunenburg County Sunday evening. The RCMP responded to a report of a tractor ramming into an occupied home in the 4300 block of Cornwall Road in Union Square around 9:10 p.m. Police say officers saw a man actively destroying the home with a large farm vehicle. The person inside the home knew the suspect and did not report any injuries. Sheldon Rex MacKay of New Germany was arrested at the scene. The 55-year-old has been charged with: mischief causing danger to life mischief dangerous operation of a motor vehicle failure to comply with undertaking MacKay was remanded into custody. Man found dead after possible drowning in LaHave River
Social Sharing Police in Bridgewater, N.S., are investigating a possible drowning after a man died in the LaHave River on Monday. First responders were called at 11:23 a.m. AT and people were asked to avoid the King Street Court area. Police said a body was recovered from the river with the help of an underwater drone around 12:40 p.m. "At this time, police believe there is no criminal nature to this incident, and the investigation is being treated as an accidental drowning," the Bridgewater Police Service said in a social media post. Police said the man was from Lunenburg County. The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner's Office will be helping in the investigation, police said. "Bridgewater Police Service wishes to extend its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, and to express our thanks to the supporting emergency response agencies for their timely, effective, and co-operative efforts during the search," police said.

N.S. man, 28, dies after truck leaves road, lands in brook in Lunenburg County
A 28-year-old man has died after his truck landed upside down in a brook in Lunenburg County. The RCMP and emergency crews responded to the single-vehicle crash on Italy Cross Road in Crousetown, N.S., around 3:30 p.m. Thursday. 'Officers learned that a Ram 3500 had left the roadway and come to rest upside down and submerged in the Wallace Brook,' said the RCMP in a news release Friday. The driver, a 28-year-old man from Middlewood, N.S., died at the scene. No one else was inside the vehicle. Italy Cross Road was closed for several hours. It has since reopened. 28-year-old man dead after truck ends up in Lunenburg County brook
A 28-year-old man from Middlewood, N.S., is dead after the vehicle he was driving ended up submerged in a Lunenburg County brook. In a news release, RCMP said they learned of the incident around 3:30 p.m. AT Thursday. Police said the man was driving a truck on Italy Cross Road in Crousetown, N.S., when it left the road and ended up submerged upside down in Wallace Brook. The man was the only person in the vehicle, police said. It's unclear what caused the vehicle to leave the road. Italy Cross Road was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.

RCMP issue shelter-in-place order in Lunenburg County, N.S., for man who may be armed
Nova Scotia RCMP are telling residents of Lunenburg County to seek shelter or stay inside because of a man who they say is dangerous and may be armed. Police say the suspect is six feet tall, 175 pounds with green eyes and auburn hair, and was last seen on foot. He was spotted in the area of Northfield Road in the rural community of Lower Northfield, N.S., which is about 10 kilometres north of Bridgewater, N.S. Police did not say what time he was last seen. The Mounties are telling residents to lock their doors and windows and stay inside a secure location. RCMP are also telling people not to pick up strangers asking for a ride, and not to disclose the location of police.
