Panerai Unveils 2 Luminor Watches As Official Sponsor Of Luna Rossa
The Panerai Luminor Chrono Flyback Luna Rossa PAM01654 Panerai will continue its role as Official Sponsor of Luna Rossa, the Italian sailboat racing team, as it competes in the 38th America's Cup, with the finals set for Naples, Italy, in 2027. The relationship between Panerai, the Italian watch brand known for its high-performance seafaring timepieces, and Luna Rossa began in 2019 as the team prepared for the 36th America's Cup in Auckland in 2021 and continued through Barcelona 2024. Marking the third America's Cup campaign of this partnership, Panerai introduced two new Luminor novelties to the Luna Rossa collection: the Luminor Chrono Flyback Luna Rossa PAM01654 and the Luminor Luna Rossa PAM01653. The Luminor collection is known for its signature crown protection device with lever and its luminous dial, offering optimal readability in all conditions. The rhodium small seconds display allows users to verify functionality. Panerai uses the Super-LumiNova X1 on markers and hands, which the watchmaker says ensures the watch is easily readable even in low-light conditions. This is a crucial feature for military naval missions as the watch brand is historically known for supplying timepieces for the Italian navy and other military forces. Panerai Luminor Chrono Flyback Luna Rossa PAM01654 This watch is available in a limited edition of 150 pieces. It has a 44mm titanium case, a lightweight metal known for its strength and durability. It is resistant to corrosion and physical wear, providing robustness and longevity. The watch is water resistant up to 10 bar (approximately 100 meters), with each watch subjected to a pressure 25% greater than the guaranteed water resistance value to meet Panerai's standards. The watch is powered by the P.9100 caliber, Panerai's first automatic movement with chronograph functions. It incorporates the flyback chronograph function, with tachymeter scale for nautical use. This feature allows the chronograph hands to reset to zero and restart instantly with a single press. This eliminates the need for the traditional three-step process of stopping, resetting and restarting. The push-button operates the flyback function at 8 o'clock, which also resets the hands to zero when the chronograph is stopped. The pusher is marked by R for reset and F for flyback with red lacquered details. The caliber is also characterized by a vertical clutch and column wheel mechanism with chronograph minutes displayed by a central hand that jumps forward every 60 seconds. Equipped with two patented mechanisms, the movement has a 72-hour power reserve, achieved through twin spring barrels in series. The caliber is visible through a sapphire crystal caseback. The caseback of the Panerai Luminor Chrono Flyback Luna Rossa PAM01654 The two-lawyer 'sandwich' dial is in a gray matt finish. It is accented with red details and the Luna Rossa team decal. The subdials are positioned for symmetric balance and readability. The watch is completed with a black and gray bi-material strap with the 'Luna Rossa' stripe and an additional black rubber strap. Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa PAM01653 PAM01653 The 44mm case of this watch is crafted from AISI 316LVM - 1.4441 stainless steel, known for its strength and corrosion resistance, Panerai said. It is vacuum arc remelted to maximize purity and improve the resistance to corrosion. This alloy consists of iron with a chromium content of 17.0-19.0%, 13.0-15.0% of nickel, and 2.5-3.2% molybdenum for the main alloying elements. The Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa PAM01653 Like the previous timepiece, this watch is water resistant up to 10 bar (approximately 100 meters), with the same test standards of being subjected to a pressure 25% greater than the guaranteed water resistance value. This sporty-casual watch also has a minimalist gray sandwich dial. The engraved indices and clean layout emphasize legibility and functionality with the Luna Rossa decal positioned at 6 o'clock and the small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock. subtle red accents represent the team's colors. The caseback of the Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa PAM01653 The timepiece is powered by the P.6000 caliber, a hand-wound movement with a three-day power reserve. The balance wheel oscillates at 21,600 vibrations per hour. A traversing balance bridge securely positions the oscillator, enhancing the movement's stability and precision. In addition, the watch has a stop-second function, which halts the balance wheel and seconds hand when the winding crown is pulled out, allowing for precise time adjustments. The watch is complemented with a black and gray bi-material rubber and gray textile strap with the Luna Rossa stripe as well as a second black rubber strap.

Tattoo Artist Dr. Woo Talks Time, Galaxies And Roger Dubuis Watches
Roger Dubuis Excalibur Monotourbillon Dr. Woo Episode III Today, Swiss watch brand Roger Dubuis unveils the third watch in collaboration with tattoo artist and designer Dr. Woo. The new Roger Dubuis Excalibur Monotourbillon Dr. Woo Episode III is a three-dimensional masterpiece with artistic engravings on everything from the case to the dial and even the movement components. It is the culmination of a distinctive thought process on behalf of both partners, as well as a highly technical mastery of the arts. The watch represents a journey inside deep space, and the artistic elements of it reflect Dr. Woo's single-needle style of inking. In fact, Dr. Woo, whose real name is Brian Woo, has made a name for himself in the tattoo art world thanks to his single-needle designs that have attracted celebrity clients like Drake, Miley Cyrus, and Cara Delevingne, among others. Dr. Woo Dr. Woo, though, considers himself a designer more so than a tattoo artist, which is just one faction of his multi-faceted work. He has had design collaborations with brands such as Converse, Sacai and Japanese brand Neighborhood. In a private interview, he said he enjoys the Roger Dubuis collaboration because it allows him to explore time. 'A lot of what I do in my design language has to do with a bit of the unknown mystery. I love space, I love the uncertainty. We know so much about everything, but we don't know a lot about the beyond and wonderment is something I feel like we lost with so much information and digital assets that we have access to,' explains Dr. Woo. 'And for this watch, I feel like we wanted to delve more into the unknown part of space and time, so it has a lot of different dimensions and black holes and it's a little bit wonkier and more distorted. It is more of an interdimensional idea' A look at the signature style of Dr. Woo tattoos. As mentioned, the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Monotourbillon Dr. Woo Episode III is the third in the partnership that witnessed the unveiling of the first watch in 2021 with a philosophical space flight executed on the Excalibur Monotourbillon with symbols that implied time is our most valuable asset. In 2023, they followed up with a ceramic Excalibur Monobalancier featuring a cosmic design of the sun, Earth, and moon, anchored by Woo's signature spider, rocket, and symbolic language. Roger Dubuis Excalibur Monotourbillon Dr. Woo Episode III is being made in a limited edition of just ... More 28 pieces. Now, these three elements – the spider, rocket and symbols – are once again taking center stage. In typical Dr. Woo style, the look is monochromatic and minimalistic – offering great geometry indicative of pen and ink sketching. Roger Dubuis and Dr. Woo drew inspiration from the Whirlpool Galaxy—a real spiral galaxy, also known as Messier 51a)—that is 31 million light-years away and is known for its dramatic, star-forming arms that were captured by the James Webb Telescope in 2023. This intriguing cosmic galaxy, which Roger Dubuis internally calls the Tourbillon Galaxy, serves as the creative backdrop for the newest Excalibur Monotourbillon timepiece, whose complex mechanical tourbillon is constantly in motion. The cat back of the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Monotourbillon Dr. Woo Episode III The signature rocket is on the sapphire crystal in pink gold metallized format, along with a 'We come in peace' saying etched into the trails of the rocket ship. Woo's spider, a signature not only in the Roger Dubuis collaboration, but also in his own art, is engraved at 10:00 and filled in with black ink to recall the artist's style. Then, beneath the surface of the crystal and positioned at 9:00, are three metallic nebulas or clouds of dust. Nestled neatly between 10:00 and 11:00 is a spiral-shaped laser-engraved object intended to represent a black hole. The caseback of the watch also reveals the same black hole, filled in with black ink and surrounded by a spiraling checkerboard motif. The objective: to combine the concepts of warped time and deep space. Surrounding the center motif on the case back are the words: 'Let's work together to uncover the mysteries of the cosmos and unlock the secrets of the universe. To whoever finds this message, know that we are seekers of knowledge and explorers of the unknown.' The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Monotourbillon Dr. Woo Episode III retails for $180,000. For some, these words may just be a bit too much – too metaphysical. But Dr. Woo says that may be the result of the fact that he and Roger Dubuis are trying to capture something elusive. 'Time is the one asset you can never get enough of, and it's the only thing you can't put a value on. For me, balancing family and the creative lifestyle and more, time is definitely about distorted moments. My mind and body doesn't run on a singular path of time, so in some ways you so into a sort of hyper-transported dimension. It's really cool, and it's what we are trying to express.' The 42mm Roger Dubuis Excalibur Monotourbillon Dr. Woo Episode III watch is crafted in 18-karat pink gold and titanium. It boasts a bi-color bracelet whose center links are engraved with Dr. Woo's mystery symbols. Beating within the watch is the in-house-made mechanical RD515 caliber with flying tourbillon escapement (that compensates for errors in timekeeping due to the effects of gravity on the wrist). The lower cage of the tourbillon at 7:00 on the dial is crafted in titanium, while the bridge is shaped with three arms to recall the spiral inspired by the Tourbillon Galaxy. The movement consists of 193 individually hand finished and assembled parts and carries the Poinçon de Geneve (Seal of Geneva) Hallmark—attesting to its meticulous haute horology craftsmanship. Just 28 pieces of the watch will be made, each retailing for $180,000.

Norqain Unveils A Colorful Ice Cream Themed Watch For Summer
The Norqain Freedom 60 Chrono 40mm 'Enjoy Life' Special Edition with stainless-steel bracelet Timed for summer, Swiss watch brand, Norqain, has released the Freedom 60 Chrono 40mm 'Enjoy Life' Special Edition. The watch brand describes it as 'a bright, playful take on the timeless sports chronograph, inspired by the fresh, joyful shades of gelato.' The motto printed on its sapphire crystal caseback reads, 'Enjoy Life.' It's the latest edition to Norqain's Freedom collection, a vintage-inspired line of watches with a connection to the great outdoors and adventure. The matt-finished white dial of the special edition timepiece has two design highlights: First, its three chronograph subdials at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock and their matching outer dial sectors appear in tones of green, pink, and blue, a first for the Freedom 60 Chronograph line. Second, on the first, eighth, 15th, 22nd, and 29th day of each month, the small date display between 4 and 5 o'clock swaps its numerals for an illustration of a three-scoop ice cream cone. Norqain says it's 'a cheerful reminder to treat yourself to an ice cream every week and embrace life's little pleasures.' The Norqain Freedom 60 Chrono 40mm 'Enjoy Life' Special Edition with rubber strap The black tachymeter scale on the outer ring is backed by green, pink and blue colors. The flat indexes are diamond-cut and rhodium plated, finished with white printings and white X1 Super-LumiNova markers. There's an anthracite Norqain logo below 12 o'clock. All the hands on the dial are diamond cut and rhodium plated. The hour and minute hands are also faceted and filled with white X1 Super-LumiNova. The watch is powered by the Norqain Caliber N19 (Sellita SW510 a), automatic chronograph movement with personalized Norqain oscillating weight and a 62-hour power reserve. The movement can be viewed through a sapphire caseback. The dial and movement are housed in a 40mm 316L polished stainless steel case with a thickness of 14.90mm. The screw-down crown with the Norqain logo and pushers are made of the same metal, as is the Norqain plate on the case's left flank. As a signature detail of all Norqain watches, this plate can be personalized with an engraving. The aesthetic portion of the watch is completed with either a stainless-steel bracelet with brushed center links and a steel clasp, or a white rubber strap with signature Norqain stitches and a steel pin buckle. Each timepiece comes in a special edition box designed to match the spirit of the watch and includes a pair of sunglasses. Beyond its bright palette, the timepiece is recognizable as one of Norqain's sporty everyday chronograph. Norqain will launch the timepiece Wednesday in Las Vegas with a pool party at the Hilton Resorts World. As one would expect, it will be an ice cream themed event. It's hosted by international watch and jewelry retailer, Bucherer. The launch of this Ice Cream watch will kick off in Las Vegas with an event that is designed to capture the spirit of the summer season. It will be the first of several events during the summer to bring attention to this watch. In a statement, Ben Küffer, Norqain founder of CEO, said the company's watches are design to 'inspire joy, and to create watches that make people feel good,' adding that the Freedom 60 Chrono 40mm 'Enjoy Life' Special Edition achieves this goal because 'It's summery, it's fresh and it puts a big smile on your face.' The watch with the steel bracelet (reference N2201.19S01.C01.S01) is $5,190. With the rubber strap (N2201.19S01.C01.R01), the price is $5,050.
