VIDEO: Deputy cleared of criminal charges after fatally shooting armed suspect
PORTLAND, Ore. () — Authorities are shedding more light on what led up to a Multnomah County Sheriff's deputy who later died of his injuries during an incident on June 13. The Multnomah County District Attorney's Office announced Deputy Adam Suboh was cleared of any criminal charges for using deadly force against and killing Ladarius Collins in Gresham. Suspect arrested after body found on Hayden Island After an investigation by the East County Major Crimes Team, District Attorney Nathan Vasquez said, 'based upon a review of facts and circumstances, MCSO Deputy Suboh's use of deadly physical force on Friday, June 13, 2025 was justified and, therefore, not criminal under Oregon Law.' He added that any loss of life is deeply felt by the families and communities involved. 'Mr. Collins' death was tragic, and its impact on the family and community cannot be understated. I am deeply sorry for their loss,' Vasquez said. According to the Multnomah County DA's Office and video of the incident that they released, Collins allegedly got into a physical fight with another man in the middle of the street in Gresham, then pulled out a gun and pistol-whipped him and ran away from responding law enforcement officers. Both sheriff's deputies and members of the Gresham Police Department responded to the scene. Collins had allegedly run away from officers through the neighborhood. During this alleged evasion from police, Collins was with a woman associate who was running away with him. The woman was apprehended and later claimed Collins threatened to kill her if she didn't run away with him. Now on his own, Collins was eventually located by Suboh in a driveway. It was then that investigators said Collins allegedly pointed a loaded gun at Suboh, who then shot the suspect. The incident occurred near Northeast 162nd Avenue and Northeast Glisan Street around 7:30 p.m. on June 13. Collins fell to the ground after being shot and law enforcement officers later located a gun, which appeared to be jammed from an attempted firing, the Multnomah County DA's Office said. Collins was later declared dead after medical personnel arrived. A video compilation of some of the officers' body-worn cameras and other surveillance footage documenting the incident was released by the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office. However, more relevant video evidence was also collected by the Gresham Police Department, which is in the process of blurring faces and protecting personal identification numbers in the video, as required by law. Man arrested after hitting deputy's vehicle, eluding authorities
MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) – What began as a traffic stop turned into a high-speed pursuit before ending with a PIT maneuver. The Mesa County Sheriff's Office originally attempted the stop around 12:41 a.m., Wednesday, when a deputy witnessed a car going about 75 miles per hour near 30 and Patterson roads. The driver allegedly didn't stop and started eluding the deputy. A second deputy entered the area to help find the suspect's car, but the man allegedly drove head-on toward the law enforcement's vehicle at a high rate of speed. The suspect then reportedly swerved just before striking the deputy's car. According to MCSO, this led to a pursuit of the suspect's vehicle as he allegedly drove to speeds of 75 miles per hour. Multiple deputies were able to stop the car by a precision immobilization technique (PIT) near U.S. Interstate I-70B and Warrior Way. Authorities took the suspect – Grand Junction man Dylan Upchurch, 24 – into custody without further incident. He was transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility where he is being held on the following charges: Speeding 25-39 mph over limit Vehicular Eluding Aggravated driving with revoked license/habitual offender/commits DUI, DWAI, eluding, reckless driving Assault 2-peace officer/intent serious bodily injury Criminal attempt Three counts of traffic failure to stop at the sign Reckless driving Possession of schedule I/II controlled substance Criminal mischief $5,000 or more, less than $20,000 Drove a vehicle on the wrong side of a divided highway Resisting arrest Obstructing a peace officer, firefighter or emergency medical personnel Failed to stop for traffic control signal at the place required Upchurch was also identified as part of an incident with the Grand Junction Police Department not long before the pursuit started, the sheriff's office stated. CDOT Click it or Ticket Campaign results for May 12
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has released its results of its Click it or Ticket Campaign. The Click it or Ticket Campaign spanned from May 12 to June 1, involving the Colorado State Patrol and 60 local law enforcement agencies, including the Mesa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO). According to preliminary data, 2,428 citations were written. A 36% increase from the same campaign during the same period last year. The agencies with the highest number of citations were Thornton Police Department with 99 citations, Larimer County with 259 citations and Loveland with 367 citations. 206 citations were issued for having an improperly restrained child under the age of 18, with that category seeing a 178% increase from the 74 citations given in 2024. Deputies seeks owner of malnourished horse found in Maricopa County
The Brief A visibly malnourished horse was found wandering in Maricopa County near 66th Avenue and Ellis Drive. The sheriff's office would like to find its owner so that it can figure out why the horse wasn't receiving proper care. MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. - The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is hoping someone can come forward so it can figure out how a wandering horse ended up in the condition it's in. What we know The brown and white horse was found in a neighborhood near 66th Avenue and Ellis Drive in the south Phoenix area. "The horse is now safe and receiving care, but we need help identifying the owner or how the horse ended up in this condition," the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post on June 12. More than $1.3 million worth of drugs seized, 10 people arrested in multi-agency operation
COLUMBUS, Ga. () — The Muscogee County Sheriff's Office announced today their 8-month investigation into a local drug trafficking organization that led to the arrest of 10 people and the seizure of $1,391,785 worth of drugs. MCSO's Collaborative Intelligence Group, in conjunction with the MCSO Special Operations Unit, FBI, DEA, GBI, GSP, and the Lee County Sheriff's Office, investigation 'Operation Hades' led to the arrest of drug trafficking leader Archie Zanders and his co-conspirators. Zanders's drug trafficking operation was responsible for trafficking and distributing multiple kilograms of Cocaine, Methamphetamine, and Marijuana in Muscogee County, Georgia. On Monday, June 9, 2025, the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office, along with other agencies, executed 9 search warrants in Muscogee County. These search warrants resulted in the seizure of the following: -108 pounds of Marijuana, with an estimated street value of $481,810.00 -20 pounds of Cocaine, with an estimated street value of $895,300.00 -78 grams of Methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $7,800.00 -158 Oxycodone pills, with an estimated street value of $3,950.00 -117 Ecstasy Pills, with an estimated street value of $2,925 -11 firearms, including one 9mm Glock modified to operate in a fully automatic capacity -6 seized vehicles -$106,409 in U.S. Currency The following individuals were arrested and are facing multiple charges: Archie Zanders Christopher Mabry Hakeem Zanders Kenisha Miles Jama Zanders Edward Watson III Earnstine Sumrell Henry Royal Bobby Nelson Samantha Elders Police say the case is still under investigation and additional charges and arrests may be pending.
