MG Cyberster starts arriving at showroom, launch imminent

While the carmaker is slated to launch the MG M9 premium electric MPV, another model in the pipeline is the MG Cyberster, which is an all-electric roadster from the brand and claims to be the most powerful car the OEM has ever built. Ahead of its launch, the MG Cyberster has started arriving at dealerships. The MG Cyberster, as the auto company has already announced, will be sold through the brand's Select premium retail network. The Select dealerships will also sell the MG M9 alongside the MG Cyberster. Both these electric cars were showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Also Read : Upcoming cars in India The MG Cyberster electric roadster was launched globally in 2023. It marked the British car manufacturer's entry into the performance electric vehicle segment. Upon launch, it will be the brand's new halo product in the Indian passenger vehicle market. The MG Cyberster comes with a distinctive convertible body style. Underpinned by a dedicated electric vehicle platform, the Cyberster gets scissor doors on each side, which is one of the key features. The interior gets an airplane cockpit-influenced theme. It gets a host of advanced technology-enabled features, a triple-screen setup on the dashboard, yoke-styled steering, etc. It is expected to be sold in both single-motor RWD and dual-motor AWD configurations in the Indian market. The electric roadster is capable of churning out 536 bhp peak power and 725 Nm of maximum torque. It promises to offer a range of more than 500 kilometres on a single charge. MG is yet to announce the official launch date for the Cyberster. The pricing details are yet to be announced as well. However, select dealerships have started accepting bookings. Expect the EV to be sold in India through the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route, which will take the pricing of the electric convertible to around ₹ 50 lakh (ex-showroom). JSW MG Motor is gearing up to launch the stunning MG Cyberster in India as the first model under its new MG Select programme. This initiative focuses on bringing fully-imported, high-end CBU (Completely Built Unit) models to Indian shores. The Cyberster, an all-electric roadster, made its global debut in 2023 and was first showcased in India at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year. Launch Timeline and Bookings Although an early 2025 launch was expected, MG has fast-tracked its plans. The Cyberster is now set to hit Indian roads in the first week of July 2025. Pre-bookings are already open for a token amount of Rs 51,000 via MG Select dealerships or the official MG website. Ahead of deliveries, MG has started sending the Cyberster to select showrooms across India. A video on the YouTube channel Automobile With Bruce showed a bright red Cyberster arriving at a dealership on a trailer, attracting plenty of attention. The Cyberster's design takes inspiration from the iconic MG B Roadster of the 1960s, combining retro styling with futuristic elements and advanced technology. Performance While MG has not officially shared the India-specific technical details, the Cyberster is likely to match the UK version. In the UK, it comes in two variants—Trophy and GT. Single-Motor Trophy Variant This version uses a 64 kWh battery and a rear-mounted motor producing 340 bhp and 475 Nm of torque. It can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 193 kmph. The WLTP-rated range is an impressive 507 km. Dual-Motor GT Variant The more powerful GT gets a 77 kWh battery and two motors delivering 503 bhp and 725 Nm of torque. It offers all-wheel drive and a range of 443 km. The Cyberster marks MG's bold entry into the high-performance EV space in India, promising thrilling performance blended with timeless design.

JSW MG Motor India reported a 21 per cent year-on-year growth in June sales numbers, with 5,829 units sold, as the company continues to expand its presence in India's competitive passenger vehicle market . The sales momentum comes ahead of the brand's much-anticipated entry into the luxury segment with the MG M9 Presidential Limousine, which will be followed by the launch of the MG Cyberster — touted as the world's fastest MG, stated the company. These flagship models will be retailed through the company's newly introduced luxury sales channel, MG Select, aiming to redefine premium mobility for Indian consumers. Indian manufacturing facility MG Motor 's facility in Halol, Gujarat, with an annual production capacity of over 1,00,000 vehicles, continues to support the brand's CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric) mobility vision. MG has introduced several 'firsts' in India, including the MG Hector, ZS EV, Gloster, Astor, Comet, and Windsor, across internet-connected and autonomous vehicle categories.

JSW MG Motor India has announced its sales numbers for June 2025. Based on the data revealed, the brand has registered a growth of 21 per cent with the sales of 5,829 units compared to the same period in the previous years. Along with this, the brand also announced that it will now mark its presence in the luxury vehicle space with the launch of new products. Specifically, the brand is preparing to launch the MG M9 Presidential Limousine in the Indian market. This will be followed by the launch of the MG Cyberster, a performance-oriented electric car, which was revealed by the brand earlier for the Indian market. Both of these vehicles will be sold via the automaker's MG Select dealerships, a new premium sales channel. These pricing changes will come into effect on July 1, 2025. It's important to note that the amount of price changes will vary based on the model and variant. According to the automaker, the adjustment in vehicle prices has been prompted by increasing input costs and economic factors. Currently, the MG range of vehicles starts with the Comet EV, which has a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Next is the Windsor EV, priced at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Following that, the lineup of internal combustion engine (ICE) cars begins with the Astor at Rs 11.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The next model is the Hector, priced at Rs 17.5 lakh (ex-showroom), while the highest-priced model is the Gloster at Rs 41.07 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric vehicles in the brand's lineup provide consumers with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option. This approach aims to lower the initial purchase price of the vehicle by decoupling the battery cost from the overall car price, thereby making electric vehicle ownership more attainable.

The Indian passenger car industry is expected to witness a string of new car launches in the weeks to come. The new passenger cars will be launched by multiple automakers and in different segments. Moreover, these will comprise both the electric cars as well as the internal combustion engine (ICE) driven cars. Some of them have already been showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Here is a quick look at the most exciting cars launching in the Indian market in a few weeks. Here's a sneak peek at the most anticipated cars entering the Indian market in a few weeks. The most thrilling vehicle to hit Indian roads in the near future is the MG Cyberster. It is an electric sports vehicle which was unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The MG Cyberster positions itself as the most potent electric roadster from the automaker. It receives scissor doors, LED petal-shaped DRLs and LED headlamps, arrow-shaped LED taillamps linked by an LED light bar and 20-inch alloy wheels. The interior receives a quad-screen configuration, featuring dual 7.0-inch screens, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a standalone digital display for AC controls. It also receives six airbags and level-2 ADAS features. Its power comes from a 77 kWh battery and two electric motors, delivering power to all four wheels. Check details) MG M9 The most anticipated electric vehicles in India is the MG M9, a luxury MPV with an electric powertrain that was also unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. It features a boxy shape, projector LED headlights, eyebrow-like LED DRLs, electric sliding doors, 19-inch alloy wheels, networked LED rear lights, etc. Inside the cabin, it gets double digital displays, a single-sunroof for the front passengers, a panoramic sunroof for the rear passengers, three-zone automatic climate system, 64-colour ambient lighting, and powered and ventilated seats with massage functionality. Additionally, it will also have features like a 360-degree surround view camera, front and rear parking sensors and a Level-2 ADAS suite. Anticipate it to come with a 90 kWh battery pack and a front axle-mounted electric motor. The MPV should provide up to 430 km full-charge range. BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe BMW unveiled the new generation avatar of the 2 Series Gran Coupe worldwide in October 2024. The luxury car is now ready to launch in India in July 2025. It will be the company's entry-level vehicle at launch. The new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe features a new kidney grille design, new 18-inch alloy wheels, among others.
