Direct Muscat–Amsterdam flight to boost tourism to Oman: MHT
Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) announced the launch of a direct flight route between Muscat and Amsterdam, which is a strategic move aimed at enhancing tourism flow to the Sultanate of Oman and strengthening connectivity with global markets. From July 1, 2025, Oman Air began operating direct flights between Muscat International Airport and Amsterdam's Schiphol International Airport. The new route is expected to significantly expand Oman's air connectivity and facilitate seamless travel to one of Europe's key tourism and commercial hubs. The service operates four times a week using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, offering passengers a comfortable travel experience and advanced onboard features. The route also provides convenient access to over 40 destinations across Oman Air's network, including major cities in Asia and Africa. Commenting on the occasion,Azzan bin Qassim al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, said the launch of the direct route marks a strategic milestone in efforts to strengthen air links with European markets—particularly with the Kingdom of the Netherlands, which serves as a vital gateway to the continent. He added that the new service is expected to increase the flow of tourists to the Sultanate and further enhance Oman's position as a leading tourism destination, while also supporting economic and trade relations with EU countries. He further noted that the Ministry places special emphasis on the Dutch market through an ongoing calendar of promotional campaigns and events. These include annual participation in the Vakantiebeurs Travel and Tourism Exhibition, hosting the ANVR Congress 2024—the national travel trade association of the Netherlands—and organising familiarisation trips for travel agencies, media professionals and tourism stakeholders. Oman will also participate in key tourism events such as the Reisprofs Event and TravDay, scheduled for October 2025, to highlight Oman's diverse tourism offerings and natural attractions.

MHT CET Counselling 2025: Schedule released, registration underway at cetcell.mahacet.org
MHT CET Counselling 2025: The State Common Entrance Test Cell has released the schedule for admission to first-year undergraduate technical courses in engineering and technology and Master of Engineering and technology (integrated 5 years) admissions for the academic year 2025-26. As per the schedule, the registration for MHT CET counselling is underway and will conclude on July 8. Applications received after July 8 will be considered for the non-CAP seats. Students from Maharashtra and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, with a valid migrant certificate and across India, are eligible to participate in the counselling by filling out the online form. Students have to fill out the form on the official website — — and have to upload all the original documents. The documents of the students will then be sent for verification by the Cell. Candidates need to know that in the application form for MHT CET counselling, if no are errors are found, the status of verification and confirmation of the application form will be available to the student in their login along with receipt cum acknowledgement; however, if some errors are found, the details of errors will be intimated to candidates by reverting his/her application for its rectification through candidates login. Students who want to continue with the application and admission procedure will then have to edit the reverted application form and re-submit the application for e-scrutiny through his/her login. The Cell will display the provisional merit list for Maharashtra state and All India candidates on the website on July 12. Candidate has to raise the grievance about the correction required in the provisional merit list through his/her login. The application of such candidates shall be returned to the candidate in their login for rectification. They will need to upload the requisite documents to substantiate the claim for any correction or concession, as mentioned on the website. The status of acceptance or rejection of grievance raised by candidate will be available in login along with latest receipt cum acknowledgement. Those candidates who selected the physical scrutiny mode will have to visit their allotted facilitation centre to resolve the grievances. Students will have the option to submit grievances between July 13 and 15 up to 5 PM. After considering issues, the final merit list will be displayed on July 17. The Directorate of Government Examinations, Tamil Nadu, will be releasing the admit cards for HSE +2 or Class 12 Supplementary Exams 2025 on Thursday, June 19, 2025. Students who are appearing for the supplementary exams will be able to download their hall tickets from the official website at Candidates will be able to download their hall tickets by entering their Application Number and Date of Birth in the space provided. Notably, the board will be conducting the HSE +2 Supplementary Exams 2025 from June 25 to July 2, 2025. The exam will be conducted from 10 AM to 1:15 PM.
