Uravakonda: District Collector Dr Vinod Kumar emphasised the importance of environmental protection, stating that everyone should actively plant and care for saplings. He participated as the chief guest in a plantation and pension distribution drive in Veligonda village, Uravakonda mandal, as part of the Puttaparthi constituency initiatives. Accompanied by Special Deputy Collector and Constituency Officer Tippay Naik, BC Welfare Deputy Director Khushboo Katori, Tahsildar Mahboob Basha, and MPDO Ravi Prasad, the Collector first planted saplings under the MGNREGS scheme near the village. Later, he distributed pensions under the NTR Bharosa scheme for July 2025 to various beneficiaries including disability pensions to P Govindarajulu, G Siddappa, and D Bojjanulu, widow pension to P Veenamma, and old-age pensions to P Sunkamma and J Parvatamma. The Collector personally interacted with the recipients, inquired about their issues, and ensured immediate redressal. Upon learning about a severe drinking water issue in the village, he instructed the Rural Water Supply AE to take immediate action to address the problem.

Khammam: District Collector Anudeep Durishetty said that officials should complete the target set under Vana Mahotsavam as planned. The Collector held a review with officials on the implementation of Vana Mahotsavam activities and Employment Guarantee Scheme at Penuballi Mandal MPDO office on Saturday. Anudeep said that in view of the necessity of trees for human survival, saplings should be planted, and their care should be taken under Vana Mahotsavam. He said that the number of plants available in the nurseries and the number of places identified for planting the plants should be in the plan. He said that plants above 8 feet in height should be planted for avenue plantation. He said that he would take action to plant 400 plants per km on the sides of the road, considering the extent of the highway. Later, the Collector reviewed the mandal target under the employment guarantee. He asked how many working days, what works were undertaken, and what major works were undertaken.

Anantapur: MP Ambika Lakshminarayana on Friday visited Googudu village in Narpala mandal in connection with the Googudu Kullai Swamy Brahmotsavam. He inspected the traffic parking areas and the mineral water plant being constructed with the funds of the MP. He also inspected the drainage facility, newly laid borewell and pipeline works being constructed with the funds of the Zilla Parishad. He toured the entire village and issued appropriate instructions to the officials regarding sanitation. He asked the DSP about the steps to be taken for traffic control. He instructed the temple EO Shobha to make arrangements so that the devotees do not face any inconvenience. The MPDO and AE RWS have been instructed to take up the sanitation work intensively from Saturdat and complete the work within two days. The AE Electricity has been instructed to provide uninterrupted power supply during the Brahmotsavam period. Senior TDP leaders Alam Venkata Narasa Naidu, Akula Anjaneyulu, Jaffer Vali, Narasimhulu, Rajanna, Obulesu and others participated in this programme.

Vizianagaram: District Collector Dr B R Ambedkar has announced that large-scale fruit and flower plantations will be undertaken in Vizianagaram district under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). He urged eligible farmers to make the best use of this opportunity. He said that during the financial year 2024–25, plantations were undertaken in 855 acres in the district. For 2025–26, the target has been set to expand horticulture crop plantations to approximately 2,500 acres. The scheme is open to SC, ST, small and marginal farmers (those owning less than five acres of land). As part of the initiative for the current financial year, fruit plantations will be encouraged in both rainfed and irrigated lands. The State government is planning to promote 23 types of fruit plantations, 2 types of flower plantations and moringa cultivation across the district. Mango, cashew, custard apple, sweet lime, lemon, guava, Taiwan Guava, Sapota and coconut are some of the fruit varieties to be promoted under the scheme. The government will bear 100% of the maintenance expenses for a period of two to three years, depending on the crop type. Interested SC, ST, and small/marginal farmers with valid job cards under MGNREGS can submit their applications to the respective mandal programme officer, mandal parishad development officer (MPDO), or the Additional Programme officer for MGNREGS. ' Collector said.

He mentioned that state and central govts were implementing several welfare programmes, particularly for the upliftment of the tribals and socially backward classes. A village-level awareness programme was held as part of the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) at Ongili Thanda on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Raghavendranath stated that the objective of this programme was to raise awareness about govt welfare schemes in tribal areas and deliver necessary services directly to the people. 'Services such as health checkups, education opportunities, healthcare, nutrition support, pension eligibility verifications, and information on newly introduced govt schemes will be provided by the govt. This programme is especially focused on the welfare of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) through the involvement of various departments,' said Raghavendranath. It is named in honour of Birsa Munda, a revered tribal freedom fighter and reformer. 'The scheme ensures saturation of govt schemes in tribal villages. It will improve access to healthcare, education, employment, pensions, housing, and other essential services. It will also bring remote and backward tribal areas into the path of sustainable development,' said Raghavendranath. He stated that they would verify whether the schemes, including PM Awas Yojana for housing, Ayushman Bharat, PM Kisan, Ujjwala Yojana, and MGNREGA, were extended to all the eligible people. A large number of villagers actively participated and availed themselves of services and guidance. Local public representatives, teachers, ASHA workers, anganwadi workers, village elders, women's group members, students, and youth took part enthusiastically in the event. Officials from health, panchayat raj, education, agriculture, irrigation, and other departments delivered services and interacted with the public. Field-level reviews were also conducted to assess the implementation of welfare programmes in the tribal village, and suitable suggestions were offered.
